Yitel Premium (Shanghai people's Square Nanjing Road Pedestrian Street)
"Good location and convenient to fo to hotel. Hotel staff were very welcome and willing to support. I also was upgraded the room. The room was good but there was bit of dust that I still could see in the room. No restroom's door so that it was accepted for solo travellers or couple but for friend or colleague you need to consider. Overall, I love this hotel 🥰"
Shanghai Baoan Hotel
"The overall decor is quite old, and the carpets have stains, although it's clear they've tried their best to clean them. The age of the hotel is visibly apparent. The hairdryer's power is very weak, so much so that it can't even dry short hair. When I called the front desk, they said there were no other hairdryers available, so I wouldn't recommend washing your hair at the hotel. Other facilities are comparable to the hairdryer's condition. I suggest the hotel consider a small-scale upgrade of some basic infrastructure."

Find Your Perfect Stay in Shanghai by Travel Style
Ramada Encore by Wyndham Shanghai Pudong Airport
"Really enjoyed our stay here. The free shuttle runs every 30 minutes and was always on time. They also have both large and small buses, so there was never an issue getting a seat. Check-in and check-out were smooth and easy. We booked a duplex room with two levels, which was a lot of fun and something a little different. The industrial-style design was also really nice. We’d happily stay here again if we have an early flight or are just passing through. There was some road construction nearby during our stay, but it didn’t affect the hotel or our sleep at all. Also, excellent value for money. We usually stay at the Airport Hotel right between T1 and T2 of PVG, but that is quite pricey for a 5-6 hours of sleep."
Shanghai Qilu Hotel
"The hotel's location is quite good. Century Avenue Station on Metro Line 2, Exit 8, is the closest to the hotel. However, Exit 8 goes through a mall, so it might be a bit tricky to find the first time. The front desk service was just average."
MUYI Hotel Hongqiao Hub Shanghai
"Very comfortable stay. Free early check in and free laundry. Perfect for long duration travel that needs a place to rest."
Rezen Meta Tree Hotel (City Center & The Bund, Shanghai)
"The location is fantastic, very convenient for getting around. Lots of foreigners stay here, and there are plenty of dining options nearby. I just have one suggestion: there's a spot in the room that's really easy to bump into. You can easily hit your waist just by turning around, and a child could hit their head. I mentioned it to the front desk, but they didn't seem to have a very proactive response. I feel their service awareness still needs improvement."
Mehood Elegant Hotel Shanghai Bund
"I had a great stay at this hotel. The room was clean and comfortable, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The location was convenient and made it easy to get around. Overall, good value and I would stay here again."
Pullman Shanghai Central
Nestled in Shanghai’s Jing’an District, this contemporary upscale hotel features stylish rooms with modern interiors.
Pudong Shangri-La, Shanghai
"We were so satisfied with everything that we decided to extend our stay for another day. Lynn, the Guest Relations Manager, helped us with the extension and even pushed our check-out time to 2 PM. Absolutely fantastic!"
The Langham Shanghai Xintiandi
The Langham hotel near Xintiandi—complete with the Michelin-starred T'ang Court restaurant, an illuminated pool, and Chuan Spa.
Wheatfield Watch House
"very cozy hotel, I stayed before the flight to the airport. It's not very conveniently located in relation to the airport and metro, but the room itself is very cozy, the staff is caring, I'm sure this place is just great in summer. The room is clean and has a big window"
Amara Shanghai
"Nice hotel a bit higher in price, but worth it considering the neighboring hotel ratings. Check-in was easy. Though early, they held my bags and have dining inside or nearby. Walking distance within many stops like the outdoor mall, X Tower, and Green Jade Buddah. Lots of bikes or taxis available. Concierge and Housekeeping respectful. Bathroom amenities and views great. Comfortable bed. Breakfast nice and sufficient. Thanks for the Dragon Boat gift 🎁"
Renaissance Shanghai Pudong Hotel
"The room was clean and tidy, and the bathroom was spacious with a bathtub and great water pressure. The bed and pillows were large and comfortable. The TV was ready to go, no need for memberships or anything. The swimming pool was also excellent – clean and not crowded, with a hot tub available. There's even a sauna in the changing rooms. Parking was free. We happened to be there when they were updating the parking equipment, so we didn't need to go through any procedures; we just parked and drove out, which was very convenient."
JinLing Purple Mountain Hotel Shanghai
"Our overall stay was great. The location is excellent, making it very convenient to get around, especially with the subway providing easy access to all the major attractions. The room was clean and tidy, and quite spacious, so it didn't feel crowded for a family of three. The bedding was comfortable, and the soundproofing was decent. The front desk staff were very responsive, and check-in and check-out were efficient. There are plenty of dining options nearby, making it easy to grab a bite to eat. The hotel facilities are well-maintained, and it offers good value for money. Overall, we were very satisfied and would recommend it for anyone visiting Shanghai."
Novotel Shanghai Clover
"Excellent stay with kids! The room was spacious and clean, and the environment was quiet and safe. The staff were friendly and attentive. Check-out was simple and quick, and there were plenty of dining and entertainment options nearby. The cleanliness was top-notch, making for a worry-free and comfortable stay. Highly recommend for family trips!"

"The room was spacious and bright, located on a high floor which made it very quiet. It was also very clean. The breakfast offered a great variety, and the hotel's proximity to my workplace made commuting very convenient. Especially during Shanghai's scorching summer, I appreciated the ample surface parking, though it's a shame there's no underground parking."

Where to Stay in Shanghai
Shanghai moves fast but still gives you moments to slow down. In the morning, locals line up at small shops for soy milk, fried dough, and steamed buns while office workers walk briskly toward metro stations. Streets near the river feel calm early on, with joggers, delivery bikes, and cafés opening their doors one by one. In older lanes, you see laundry hanging outside, neighbors chatting, and small eateries preparing noodles for lunch. As the day goes on, the city gets busier. Cars fill the roads, shops along Nanjing Road welcome shoppers, and people move between meetings, meals, and errands. By late afternoon, the light softens along the Bund, couples take photos, and friends meet for coffee or tea. At night, the skyline lights up, restaurants stay open late, and the sound of conversations mixes with traffic and music. Staying in Shanghai feels lively but manageable, with everyday scenes that make the city feel real and easy to enjoy.
