"This is why I chose to stay here for the third day. The environment is fantastic, and the transportation is convenient. The only minor issue is that there aren't many food options downstairs, but everything else is perfectly fine."

City Garden Hotel Makati ★★★★
"City Garden Makati was unfortunately a disappointing stay, and I wouldn’t recommend it. You’re better off choosing St. Giles just around the corner or I’M Hotel, which offer a noticeably higher standard. Check‑in already set the tone: guests must sign a form acknowledging a 6000 PHP smoking penalty, yet the room we received smelled like an old smoking room that hadn’t been properly refurbished since being labeled “non‑smoking.” To their credit, a room change was offered, but the second room had its own issues — a blocked toilet and bathtub. The pool area was another letdown. The water looked milky, with hair floating around, and the space itself was very small and slippery. It didn’t feel clean or inviting at all. The so‑called skybar also didn’t live up to its name: just basic garden furniture placed next to an open kitchen. If you want a proper rooftop experience, Antidote at I’M Hotel is a far better choice. The final frustration was being charged 120 PHP for “stains” on the bedsheets — something that felt unreasonable, especially since normal use can leave minor marks and there’s no way to prove whether they were already there. Overall, City Garden Makati falls short in cleanliness, maintenance, and value. There are much better options in the immediate area."

"My family stayed here while on vacation. The hotel is located in the city center, which can be a bit chaotic. The lobby is also quite small. Overall, it's just okay for the price. Breakfast was decent, that's about it."

"It was enjoyable and relaxing. Good air-conditioning, the room we had was the same in their listing photos but in their classic room type was quite different. Good amenities but the wifi connection was weak and can’t load the netflix. Hope they can fix their internet connection for a better stay."

Tips for Booking Makati Hotels

Book Early for Peak Travel Months

Plan ahead if you’re visiting during Christmas, New Year, Holy Week (March–April), or major Philippine holidays. Makati’s top hotels—especially near Greenbelt, Ayala Avenue, and Poblacion—can fill up fast, and prices tend to surge.

Watch Out for Major Events

Makati hosts corporate conferences, expos, and international concerts at nearby venues like RCBC Plaza, Ayala Malls Circuit, and SMX Aura. Expect hotel rates to rise during business summits, long weekends, or major K-pop and sports events in the metro.

Save More with Trip.com Perks

New users can score up to 8% off select Makati hotel bookings on Trip.com. A handy way to offset the 12% VAT and service charge added to most stays—or upgrade to a suite with breakfast included.

Stay Smart with Location Choices

If you're on a tighter budget, skip the pricier Greenbelt area and look into hotels in Legazpi Village, Salcedo Village, or even the edge of Poblacion. These spots offer solid access to business hubs, restaurants, and nightlife—without the five-star price tag.
