Luxury Hotels in Shanghai

Honestly, this hotel🏨 is perfect in every way except for the price. We stayed in a connecting suite, which is essentially two rooms connected by a living room. It was very convenient for a family. As connecting rooms are in the executive area, the stay included breakfast, afternoon tea, and a light dinner. If you don't need to entertain, having a light meal at the hotel is quite nice. The air conditioning in the hotel was incredibly strong, to the point where I got stomach cramps from being frozen for the last two days😭. In the evenings, the hotel has an old-fashioned 'senior' music hall, where 70-year-olds perform. The gentleman playing the piano looked very familiar to me, and later the staff said he had been on CCTV, haha! My parents loved listening to the old songs. The music hall has a minimum spend of around 400 RMB per person! The hotel also has an afternoon tea dance hall where many people dance ballroom, which is quite interesting. On the 9th floor, there's an outdoor bar with amazing views of the Huangpu River and the Oriental Pearl Tower at night. The hotel also has a museum detailing its history from its inception to the present day, which is quite fascinating. There are daily guided tours, which are pretty fun to listen to. My daughter and I even took a set of beautiful photos with the hotel's old pictures. I truly hope the Peace Hotel continues to thrive.

Towards the end of the summer vacation, I came to Shanghai for a business trip with a short leisure break. This wasn't my first stay at MGM COTAI, and the overall experience once again far exceeded my expectations. I really must thank Cici from Guest Relations. Even at the tail end of the holiday, the hotel was still quite busy. As a returning guest, Cici remembered my travel habits and proactively coordinated my check-in needs, considering my work requirements, and helped me secure a quiet, high-floor room. The hotel's location is excellent, making it very convenient to get to various exhibition halls for work. In my free time, I could also relax with a stroll along the riverside. The room was spacious and bright with superb river views, and the bedding was incredibly comfortable, allowing me to rest well after a busy day of work. Housekeeping was well-maintained, and all the amenities worked smoothly. Whether it was inquiring about travel information or handling last-minute small requests, Cici handled everything reliably and efficiently. The hotel not only boasts the quality of a high-end establishment but also has a rare human touch. This trip perfectly blended business and leisure, and I was extremely satisfied with the experience. I sincerely thank Cici for her thoughtful service.

Having stayed at numerous top-tier five-star hotels both domestically and internationally, especially many in Shanghai, The Bellagio Shanghai is one of the very few that makes me want to return again and again. It's grand yet refined, with impeccable attention to detail. This stay was even better; Penny from guest services was beautiful and enthusiastic. She called and messaged me in advance to inquire about my check-in needs, and upon learning I was with a friend's family, she proactively arranged our rooms on the same floor and close to each other. She thoughtfully prepared fruit and toiletries for the children and even helped coordinate with their partner brand, Range Rover, for station drop-off, ensuring my friend's family and I had a perfect stay. The location is superb, convenient for both The Bund and North Bund, offering Suzhou Creek views, quiet yet central. Another highlight is the fantastic breakfast; The Bellagio's mini wontons are arguably the best in the country. This is a purely handwritten review, and I am extremely, extremely satisfied.

My last stop in Shanghai was a fantastic experience. The hotel staff were all incredibly diligent and responsible, with very friendly attitudes. The front desk answered calls promptly, and the public areas had a unique and beautiful design. The luggage space in the room was very generous, which was practical. Because I'd had some unpleasant experiences at other hotels previously, I specifically requested several hygiene-related accommodations this time. The hotel implemented all of them before check-in and even proactively communicated with me to confirm, going so far as to upgrade my room. After housekeeping cleaned the next day, a dedicated staff member even came up to double-check. During my stay, I didn't see any bugs, and the bedding was very clean – I'd say it's the cleanest hotel I've ever stayed in. The only minor drawback was that it was quite hard to get a ride-sharing car using my phone. I heard the hotel can help arrange taxis, but I didn't try it. However, walking from the hotel to the Oriental Pearl TV Tower, the Aquarium, or Super Brand Mall isn't too far, and strolling there in the evening with a breeze blowing was quite pleasant. I wish the hotel continued success and hope they maintain this standard. This will definitely be my top choice for future visits to Shanghai.

An absolutely fantastic hotel! It's super convenient with a pedestrian street and shopping mall right around the corner. The pool view is breathtaking, especially the transparent pool facing the river – so relaxing to just lie on the sofa there. I'll definitely be back! Big shoutout to Vicky from the fitness center and Valentina, Roy, Dawn, Judy, and Sissy at the front desk for their amazing service.

My family and I really loved the room's minimalist Scandinavian/Japanese style, with its natural wood and white tones. It's a welcome change from the 'nightclub' vibe of the W Hotel we stayed at before – I actually prefer this! The pillows are really soft and comfortable. The hotel's location is excellent; I especially enjoyed sitting in the 1st-floor restaurant, watching the diverse crowd from all over the world pass by on Nanjing Road. Our room had a side window with a view of the Oriental Pearl Tower, which is exactly why I booked this room. As for cleanliness, it goes without saying for a hotel of this caliber. The overall atmosphere is fantastic, and the best part is that you can truly relax and be yourself. Lewis, a staff member, was very professional and provided excellent service. Although the hotel doesn't have its own parking lot, they offer complimentary valet parking for one car per room, which was quite convenient. When we picked up the car, a few staff members even mentioned they were from my hometown, which was a nice touch. I'll definitely stay here again next time I'm in Shanghai!

While the basic accommodation needs are met, there's definitely room for improvement in the details. In the mornings, there was often a loud banging noise from the corridor, which was quite disruptive and woke me up early, preventing a good night's sleep. The in-room facilities felt quite dated, and the bathroom waterproofing was inadequate; water would easily seep out during showers, making the floor slippery – a minor but present hazard. I hope the hotel considers renovating and upgrading the bathroom facilities and improving sound insulation between floors. On the positive side, the hotel's unique scenery and ambiance are big pluses. The lobby frequently features a resident band playing live music, creating a wonderful atmosphere in the common areas with their melodious tunes. The rooftop bar offers expansive views and an excellent sightseeing experience. The antique Rolls-Royce parked outside is a rare sight and makes for a stylish photo opportunity. Overall, it's a mixed bag of pros and cons.

This stay was a truly wonderful surprise! ✨ First and foremost, the river view from the room was absolutely stunning! The moment I opened the curtains, the entire cityscape of Shanghai and the river view unfolded before my eyes. It was so beautiful, words can't even describe it. The joy and happiness I felt in that moment really can't be fully captured by photos. Just sitting in the room, quietly gazing at the view outside, already made this trip feel incredibly worthwhile. ❤️ I especially want to thank the front desk staff! Their service was truly outstanding, so friendly and professional, and incredibly enthusiastic. She even thoughtfully upgraded our room, giving us this fantastic river view room. I have to say, this surprise really elevated the entire check-in experience to another level! A huge thank you for her attentiveness and service. Meeting such staff during a trip truly leaves a lasting and excellent impression of a hotel. Also, the hotel's rooftop is definitely a must-visit! If you're staying here, don't miss the views from the rooftop. Standing there and looking at Shanghai's cityscape and the river view, the panoramic sight is truly breathtaking. It's beautiful during the day, and when the lights come on at night, it's a completely different atmosphere. The entire splendor of Shanghai is right before your eyes; it's truly, truly gorgeous. From the room view and hotel service to the overall experience, this stay left me extremely satisfied. Especially in a city like Shanghai, being able to have such a beautiful river view room, waking up to such a scene in the morning, and enjoying Shanghai's dazzling night view in the evening, is truly blissful. If you're traveling to Shanghai, I highly recommend staying here once! Whether you're on a romantic trip, traveling with friends, or simply looking for a place to truly enjoy Shanghai's urban scenery, this place is absolutely worth it. 💕

This is my second stay at The Middle House in Shanghai. My first visit, almost a year ago, left a deep impression! Although I only stayed one night last time, these three nights have given me an even better appreciation of how excellent the hotel's service truly is! First, Nifty at the front desk was incredibly welcoming during check-in. She even added me on WeChat, which made it so convenient to contact her directly for various small requests – she resolved everything quickly, and I'm very grateful! This included things like arranging taxis, sending fruit, and late check-out. On my last day, I even ran into Kin, an employee from my very first stay here! He was still just as enthusiastic and helped me with a lot, even giving me a small gift! I'm very thankful! I choose The Middle House primarily because of its exceptional and professional service. Additionally, I really love the shower, and then there's the breakfast! I'm too lazy to have tried the pool and spa yet, so I'll save that for my next visit! Thank you, everyone!

During my stay, they were consistently meticulous, attentive, and patient, always monitoring my experience and proactively addressing all my needs with professional and gentle service. Their thorough care and perfectly attentive service washed away the fatigue of travel, making me, a stranger in a foreign land, feel a long-lost sense of security and warmth, truly experiencing the ultimate feeling of being at home. The excellent environment, the stunning restaurant views, combined with perfect and heartwarming service, created a flawless stay. This short visit has left me with an abundance of wonderful memories, and I am already eagerly looking forward to my next return. I will definitely choose this place again in the future!
