Luxury Hotels in Shanghai

Beautiful hotel with well designed lobby and rooms. The location is fantastic, right in the heart of Jing An. Staff are super professional, very attentive and look after you well. One downside is a fundamental for a hotel, we didn’t get one good nights sleep. The beds are great but the room was too warm, even in early spring when the temperature was still low outside. However, the air con was very loud, even on low setting, so to sleep you either had the noise or it was too hot. One night there was also very loud road construction noise from outside from 3-5am. It’s a city, so this happens but other hotels in Shanghai that we’ve been to before seem to make it their business to know and take proactive measures in like informing and apologizing to guests in advance, putting guests in rooms away from the noise, or at least providing earplugs.

I’ve lived and traveled around China for 6 years and have been to Shanghai countless times trying many different types and levels of hotels. The Fairmont Peace Hotel is by the far the best I’ve ever experienced in Shanghai thus far. The service at check in was fantastic and friendly and so accommodating. The lady spoke perfect English which helped me a lot and went so far as to walk us to our room and explain some key points. All staff are wonderful and smiling and so willing to help. The room was clean and quiet and had all the modern finishings to make life easy while blended into a beautiful and traditional style. The Jazz Band is a must see and the small museum is lovely. The Phoenix Restaurant produced some delicious food. Overall I cannot stop singing the praises of this hotel. Also location is fantastic for tourists. Right on the Bund and close to subway stations and taxi pickup points if needed.

The MGM was an incredible stay — a perfect blend of style, comfort, and top-tier service. From the moment I arrived, the attention to detail was clear. The staff were warm and professional, the rooms were sleek and spacious, and the overall atmosphere was pure luxury. The design of the hotel is modern and striking, with a touch of bold personality that sets it apart. It’s the kind of place that makes you feel like you’re living in a movie. I had such a great experience here and will definitely be coming back. Huge thanks to the entire MGM team for an unforgettable stay.

Wonderful stay with the great facilities , we got an upgraded room at 8th floor. Room is large space with bathtub , complimentary red wine & Dessert , automatic toilet bowl & dyson hair dryer. Easy traveling , we took a taxi (DiDi) from Dongjing subway station exit 3 to the hotel only 26 CYN & takes 18 minutes. We enjoy the water curtain show at the lobby. Amazing cliff light & shadow show at 20.30 hrs. Great service from all staffs bell boy , front reception , restaurant , indoor pool. Special thanks to Ms.Sofiia (Guest Service Officer) as we got a warm welcome & helpful information from her. Ms.Sofiia make us feel very easy to communicate in English speaking (many staffs not influence in English). We request to inspect the underwater view room & she could arranged it perfectly (luckily the room is available to see) We join the buffet dinner at G floor restaurant. Great value dinner with variety of food , dessert & drinks. We love unlimited beer & wine. Also special thanks to Mr.Chan LV for a great services in the restaurant.

One of the best hotels that I’ve stayed at. Stayed there for 2D1N on March 6 2025 with my partner for our anniversary and booked the city view room with the balcony! The views were great and the Bellagio team gave us a special surprise in our room. The rooms were luxurious and the amenities provided were great. I was checked in and served by a tall slim Chinese guy with glasses (sadly didn’t get his name) and his service was top-notch! We asked him about the promotional events going on at the hotel (Panda collaboration) and he helped us purchase the panda plush that we were looking for and also ensured that we were able to pay in cash (to avoid the 3% international card charge) and also helped us make reservations at the hotel’s restaurant and even gave us a free gift, the Bellagio lion plushie after showing interest in purchasing it! We also went for the hotel breakfast; They have the buffet section (which is quite small) and the made-to-order menu. Although the buffet section is small, everything I ate was at the highest quality and the made-to-order food tasted amazing as well. All in all, because of my 2 days here, I have became a lifelong fan of Bellagio Shanghai and will be staying here the next time I’m back in Shanghai! Kudos to Bellagio Shanghai!

I tried to check in at 2pm, was informed that the room was not ready for at least 1 more hour. Asked the receptionist for a restaurant, and instead of pointing out the ones from the hotel, she sent me to Yu Gardens... Come back after an hour and was informed that I need to wait for another 30 min at least. I was given a voucher for a soft drink, and I headed to the lounge to get this drink, I showed the voucher to lady and she said for me to have a cold tea that I agreed. At 3:35 stand up to get my key and the waitress ask me to pay for the tea, I pointed out that I got a voucher and she said that voucher was not good for cold tea and I need to pay aroung 230RMB for a tea I didn't want at the beginning, I was there just for the absurd waiting time for the room to be ready! I asked the manager, and they said no need and they would take care... Arrived in room 1771, a well-appointed room, tried to make a coffee, and the machine was not working... I called the concierge and informed about the machine, after 5 min a lady call me to offer me a bottle.of wine, that I declined as I don't drink offer fruit and at the end an upgrade to the room, I went to the toilet and left the room at 16:00 as I had a meeting. I arrived at the meeting with sweaty clothes and without taking a shower as I got the room over 90 minutes later... I received the key of the new room before I left, when I come back I tried to use the key but was not active, i headed back to reception to check what happened and they activated but didn't apologise for the mistake. The new room had a view of the Bund, so there was no upgrade of the room itseld was just an upgrade of the view... The hotel is nice, has good amenities, and breakfast is solid, fresh, but not as much choice as compared to Shangri-la Pudong. The pool changing room and showers need better cleaning and mantenience. The people at the reception and at the lounge need better training and level up their English to a better standard, hotel is 5 star, experience is far from it.

The hotel is in a very good location in the center of shanghai. We were quite excited to sleep in one of shanghai's most famous Towers. The room was very clean, the interior was a little run down (squeaking doors, big scratches on the floor, damaged silicon of bathtub), but everything worked fine. The view was obviously breathtaking! Unfortunately I was a bit disappointed by the english level of the reception staff. I would have expected differently at a hotel of this status.

This time our family stayed at the Shanghai Seagull Regent Hotel, which is a benchmark for luxury hotels in Shanghai in terms of both hardware facilities and service standards. We would like to especially thank the manager Eileen He for her professionalism and dedication! When we checked in, Eileen greeted us with a warm smile. After seeing that we were traveling as a family, she took the initiative to arrange two rooms close to each other with great views. She also carefully inquired about the needs of the elders and children and thoughtfully adjusted the room details. Her service is both luxurious and professional, yet also humane and warm. The view rooms are amazing, with floor-to-ceiling windows offering a panoramic view of the bustling night view of Lujiazui and the cruise ships on the Huangpu River. The smart facilities and luxurious bathrooms show the quality, and every detail reflects the concept of ”customer-centric”. Seagull Regent Hotel is undoubtedly the first choice for accommodation on the Bund. Looking forward to seeing you next time~

Hotel service: The staff are very considerate, proactive, and their smiles are very warm. Sorry I can't remember some of the staff's names, thank you Thomas, Andre, Cai Cai (French cuisine), the very handsome Chef, and the curly-haired lady at breakfast. Of course, the handsome guys and beautiful girls in the lobby are all very nice 💜🩷🩵 Dining: There are many breakfast options, including Chinese, Western and Old Shanghai sets. Recommended dishes include fried dough sticks and soy milk (great without sugar), beef vermicelli soup, fruit platter, stir-fried seasonal vegetables, and Omelette. The portion is large and one person cannot finish it. All tasted good. I also tried the French dinner, lobster! Super delicious food, highly recommended. Andre and Cai Cai (I don’t know if I heard it right) took good care of us. There is also the bar, the cocktails are delicious, and the way they speak is like a robot, which is very funny🤭 Room facilities: clean, fresh, and very considerately cleaned every day. The girls are awesome 👍🏻 Because there are stairs in the room, it’s hard to add water and other items. Gentlemen too, thank you. I feel comfortable every day after waking up. The sunshine, greenery and flowers take good care of my body and mind! An experience unique to Capella Shanghai.

Our stay at Aman Yangyun was an unforgettable experience for our family. We arrived at the hotel by taxi from the airport, but we encountered a problem as we couldn’t complete the payment due to issues with our Alipay setup. The hotel staff quickly stepped in, escorting us to the lobby and taking care of the payment on our behalf. Moreover, since the taxi driver had charged us an unreasonably high amount, the staff even negotiated a reduction for us. Their swift and thoughtful actions gave us a great sense of relief. While every aspect of our stay was exceptional, the following experiences left a particularly lasting impression: 1. **Calligraphy Workshop with the Kids** We participated in a calligraphy session as a family, where we learned the techniques of writing and created beautiful pieces under the guidance of the instructor. 2. **Cycling Adventures** We rented bikes and explored the vast forest adjacent to the hotel. The cycling experience was incredibly refreshing and rejuvenating. 3. **New Year’s Fireworks** At midnight on New Year’s Eve, a spectacular fireworks display lit up the sky. The sheer volume of fireworks was astonishing—far beyond what you’d expect from a single hotel. It was a truly satisfying experience, and we could tell that a great deal of effort and expense had gone into the celebration. 4. **Peaceful Landscape with Wildlife** The hotel grounds were home to deer, black swans, and a beautiful river, creating a serene and idyllic landscape that was both calming and delightful. This stay will remain a cherished memory for our family.
