Satisfied! Excellent and friendly staff, although they could not speak english fluently, they dont bother to communicate with us. If you want to experience excellent hospitality, should consider Elong hotel! Thank you for Allan, whose super patient helpful, 1 lady whose stand by as guest relation, super helpful. We got trouble room on first night, there was water leaking, and within 5 mins she resolved the problem. We got 1 level up floor with better view and theres no more leaking or any other trouble. We also received b’fast compensation and coffee robot voucher. It was small token, but truly meaningful. Thank you si much for your quick problem resolve and gesture :) Room super good, cleanliness acceptable, area super good (walkable to metro Line 1 and 2), i would like to back there again for my next visit. I had the pleasure of staying at this unique boutique hotel during my recent trip to China, and it was truly a memorable experience. From the moment I arrived, I was captivated by the hotel’s distinctive character—an enchanting blend of rustic charm and ancient elegance. The architecture and interior design are steeped in history, with weathered stone walls, antique wooden beams, and traditional decor that transport you back in time. Yet, despite its aged aesthetic, the hotel is immaculately maintained and thoughtfully curated. Every corner tells a story, and there’s a quiet beauty in its timeworn textures and peaceful ambiance. Service was warm and attentive, with staff who made me feel genuinely welcome and went out of their way to ensure my comfort. My room was cozy, well-appointed, and tastefully designed to reflect the historic atmosphere while offering all the modern amenities I needed. The atmosphere throughout the hotel was serene, offering a perfect retreat from the bustle of the city. Whether I was enjoying tea in the tranquil courtyard or simply admiring the vintage touches in the hallway, I felt relaxed and inspired. Highly recommended for travelers looking for something beyond the typical hotel stay—this place is more than a place to sleep; it’s an experience in itself.

The hotel has a very convenient location — right by the main pedestrian street, with plenty of restaurants, shops, and easy access to the metro. There’s a small gym, and the front desk staff were friendly and helpful, they even let me check in an hour early after a long flight. Breakfast was decent by Chinese standards. The only downside was that my room had no view of the city, but on the plus side, it was perfectly quiet and I couldn’t hear any noise from the busy street, which made it easy to sleep. Overall, a good stay for the price.

The hotel provides good service including breakfast n supper, shuttle bus and free laundry services. Staff are helpful and friendly.

Exceptional Stay - Outstanding Service! We had a wonderful experience staying at this hotel. From the moment i arrived, the staffs were incredibly helpful, attentive and professional. Their warm hospitality and willingness to assist with anything we needed truly made our stay feel comfortable. Breakfast perfectly fine for elderly and provided late porridge. Laundry service is good too! Location is also perfect, walking distance to major attractions. Though the room size is slightly smaller than kthers, it does not affect our stay. Understand it located at golden area. Overall, we would stay again if go shanghai, and highly recommend to anyone looking for great service and convenience.

We loved this hotel! They upgraded us and were so efficient at check in. I was shocked by how good the view was and we had a bathtub in the room too, the room was very spacious. Great service, whatever we asked for they had someone bring within 5 minutes. There’s a robot to deliver take out that is quick too. Cleanliness was good, cleaning aunties were lovely. They had a lot of amenities provided like sleep mask etc and a bathtub bag that was replaced daily. Near the lifts you can grab extra combs, toothbrushes etc if you needed it, so that was convenient. Bed was very comfortable, loved the pillows. Block out curtains did a good job and I didn’t hear any sounds- overall great sleep. Such an amazing location near the bund w a fantastic river view, I would stay here again in a heart beat. Also they always have 2 doormen at any time who helped to carry the luggage up the stairs and bring to the room etc. Even very late at night they’re there which does help to make the lobby security feel more secure.

The location of the hotel is extremely convenient. It’s situated right on Nanjing Pedestrian Road, making it easy to explore the heart of the city. There are plenty of restaurants and food nearby. The famous Bund is also within walking distance. The room, while not as spacious as we had expected, was still adequate for two people. It was clean and well-maintained, providing a decent level of comfort for a short stay. However, we did encounter a few issues during our time at the hotel. Firstly, the design of the shower area caused water to flow out into the toilet space after use. This was a bit inconvenient as it made the bathroom floor wet and slippery. Secondly and more concerning, was an incident involving the housekeeping staff. On the second morning of our stay, we went out for breakfast without placing a “Please Clean Room” sign on the outside door. Surprisingly, when we returned from L9 cafeteria to L3 room, we found that the cleaning staff had entered and was in the middle of tidying the room. We were quite shocked, especially since we had not requested housekeeping service, nor were we informed that staff would be entering the room by default. This was particularly worrying because we had left personal belongings, including a wallet and a mobile phone inside the room unattended. It is same incident happened to other room in L2 as well during our stay. I was curious if someone showering and sleeping in the room, the cleaner will suddenly pop out for cleaning without informed?! Sounds unsafe. While we appreciate the staff’s efforts to keep the room clean, we believe that guests should be notified or asked for permission before anyone enters the room. This would help ensure both privacy and security for hotel guests.

Superb hotel at a quiet yet accessible location. Staff were really friendly, room was very comfortable, usage of space was well thought out of and no smell of smoke at all. Breakfast spread was scrumptious, and they even had free yummy porridge with side dishes for all hotel guests in the evening, which was a very thoughtful gesture! We also really loved the free laundry service which was so convenient and easy to use. Hotel was smart throughout - TV had info about whether the laundry and dryer machines were occupied, and we could order delivery and the robot helper delivered it to our room. Shoutout to Changpu 菖蒲 aunty who packed breakfast for us 💕 I’ll definitely book my stay with this hotel again when I’m back in Shanghai! Only gripe was that during the weekend, the porridge dishes were very quickly finished by other guests and not promptly refilled, but since it’s free it wasn’t that big of a deal, just left us a tiny bit disappointed since it was so yummy! 🥹

The place and location is good.  We were unlucky to meet early summer in March and the hotel does not provide air conditioning. The staff told us to open the window and yes, the next room also open the window and smoke cigarette that caused the smell came into our room.  With the sign “non-smoking”and condition set on reservation, doesn’t seem to strict with this rule. We call the receptionist after midnight asking to change room. It was so hot that we cannot sleep the staff promised to give us a fan next day -they left us nothing next day that we had to ask them to find one again!!! I would have changed hotel if knowing that they didn’t take this situation seriously. With the price we paid this is not appropriate. Staff is actually good with helping along with other issues but with what I experience here -there will not be my next time here. Photo is the fan they finally found without base.

I last stayed at this hotel 10 years ago, when it was still named ”Regal International East Asia Hotel”. 10 years later, when I had the opportunity to stay at this hotel again, I was surprised that the hotel was more or less kept as the same, with a similar classy style and decor. Even the rooms looked the same! Although they were probably never renovated, the fixtures and fittings were kept in very good condition and the beds comfortable. It is located in a very classy and laid back part of Xujiahui, Shanghai which was part of the former french concession. I had a good stroll down Hengshan Road, and found that while it was tree-lined and as pretty as ever, there were more cafes and malls there now. The location is also very convenient, a short stroll away from Wukang Building, 5 mins walk to Hengshan Road station and 15mins drive from the bund. As I had just arrived from Chongqing, which is most definitely a second tier chinese city, I was taken aback by the good english spoken by the reception, which was much better than that in a similar 5 star hotel in CQ. The hotel staff all provided good service and were courteous. The room was large and I appreciated the work table, something that is not common in other hotels of similar price range. The toilet's design was a little strange though, as there was no real separation from the shower area and the sink(only had a glass door). While I didn't have the time to use the hotel's facilities, there was a large indoor swimming pool and a fully equipped gym-- with fitness instructors and classes. Very impressive. The breakfast at the lobby restaurant was also good, with a good selection of hot food and bread, nothing to complain about. I also loved taking a stroll in the garden behind the restaurant, where locals were exercising and the gentle winter breeze uplifted my mood greatly. Overall, for the price paid, it is a good value for money hotel in Xujiahui, Shanghai, I love the hotel itself and the neighbourhood it is located in. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to others and would definitely stay here again if I am back in Shanghai, China.
