Mercure Shanghai Yu Garden On the Bund

I chose to stay at Mercure for my trip to Shanghai during the National Day holiday. I had a great experience at a Mercure in Xi'an before, and this time, the Mercure Shanghai Yu Garden store was just as perfect. First off, the service was excellent, especially the young lady at the front desk who checked us in. She was outstanding – quick, efficient, and very fast at handling the check-in process. She was also cheerful, pretty, and incredibly warm and thoughtful. Knowing we had booked two different room types, she thoughtfully and diligently tried her best to arrange them on the same floor for us. Thank you! The hotel rooms were very clean, and the bedding was spotless, which made our stay comfortable. I pay extra attention to cleanliness since I'm traveling with children, so this was a huge plus. The breakfast was also very good, and the restaurant environment was pleasant (forgot to take photos of the restaurant). The tea station on the first floor was also very cozy. The only minor issue was that the scent in the lobby was too strong; my friend, who has rhinitis, found it a bit unbearable, and even I, without rhinitis, found it quite uncomfortable. However, I mentioned it to the front desk, and they assured me they would report it. Overall, it's a great hotel, and I'll definitely choose Mercure again for future stays. The room was clean and hygienic with complete facilities and no strange smells. The minibar was well-stocked, the breakfast was rich and delicious, the environment and location were great, and the service attitude was excellent.

The hotel's location is excellent, close to The Bund and Yu Garden. The rooms are also clean. This is my third stay here.

We paid a lot extra for a themed room, but all we got was a change of sheets. If we hadn't called, there wouldn't have even been a tent. When we first entered, the floor was wet. The bed rail wasn't installed properly, and my child almost fell out of bed while sleeping. The sheets were also torn with a hole. Honestly, encountering such an experience during a holiday is really frustrating.

I really liked it—it was a very comfortable stay. The only downside is that it's a bit far from the metro station; many trains don't stop at Yuyuan Station, and it takes about a 15-minute walk. There's a shopping mall right across the street. The beds in the room can be pushed together, which is great for families with multiple kids.

The room was nice, breakfast was decent, and they even offered free late-night snacks. The service was excellent.
