Lanson Place Mall of Asia Manila Hotels in City of Manila

Lanson Place Mall of Asia Manila

"This is my second night at Lanson place. After the great experience in the first night, I decided to cancel another reservation and extended the stay here. This time, I book a room with Lanson club (executive lounge) access to have a try. Frankly, the extra cost does not really proved to be worth. While the staff are polite, friendly and helpful as always, there are very limited food and beverage options in the lounge (compared to other hotels' lounges that I have experienced). The view from the lunge is also limited (see the photo). The food option such as the breakfast in the photo is quite limited as well. It occurs to me that Lanson Place could be a good option for the regular rooms but not the executive ones. Perhaps the in-room W/D would something that I appreciate, but it is definitely not worth the much higher cost. I'll stay in a regular room in Lanson next time."

The Manila Hotel Hotels in City of Manila

The Manila Hotel

"The Manila Hotel has an old but elegant and luxurious style. Marble and stone finishing, tall ceilings and a grand piano at the back with a musician playing pleasant music greets you as you walk through the entrance. Lacking points from my personal experience: 1. The carpet floors need to be replaced. I had to change rooms because the first room I got had an unpleasant smell to it (they quickly changed my room after I went to the reception, so it wasn't terrible) and although I didn't notice until the end of my stay, the new room's carpet was frayed at the edges. 2. The night mode of the lights (many switches) completely cuts power to the power outlets. I didn't know and ended up waking up to a phone and power bank with a dying battery and needing to stay in the hotel a couple of hours until they finished charging. Maybe just a warning in the future? The good parts: 1. The service! People are SO accommodating, pleasant and efficient. Reception staff, waiters, bell boys and basically everyone greets you with a smile and tries to solve any problems with utmost focus and cordiality. 2. Traditional pride. Traditional fashion exhibition at the front was a great touch to my visit. The whole place (restaurants, pools, spa, rooms, etc) add to the experience. I could have stayed in the hotel and felt like I hadn't missed Manila's charm. 3. Excellent location. I realised early on that I could literally see every single thing from my "1 day tour of Manila" from my hotel room. Nothing says great location like this."

Grand Westside Manila Bay ★★★★
"💥Great location and comfortable rooms, but service capacity falls short for the country's largest hotel.💥 While their website boasts being the largest hotel in the country by room count, the operational capacity during our stay didn’t match the scale. Check-in was a lengthy 45-minute process. There were only four counters open initially (three regular, one priority), and an additional counter was only opened after the line had already grown significantly. For a hotel of this size, guest arrivals should be anticipated and staffed accordingly. Breakfast was similarly delayed. With only two staff members checking the guest list (one regular, one priority), the line stretched all the way into the main lobby, taking us nearly 30 minutes just to enter the dining area. Claiming the title of the largest hotel comes with the expectation that staffing levels can efficiently handle high guest volumes. On a positive note, the hotel does have its bright spots: Staff: Courteous and pleasant throughout our stay. Room & Comfort: Comfortable rooms with well-carpeted corridors that effectively minimized hallway noise. Location & Accessibility: Excellent proximity to major malls/casinos (Ayala Malls, MOA, Okada, Solaire, and COD), making Grab pickups after check-out quick and easy. Verdict 😉: While the accommodations and location are strong, the frustrating wait times severely impacted the overall experience. Given our stay, we didn't feel it delivered strong value for money."

"Stayed here with my extended family of 9 (4 rooms) and had a great stay overall. The hotel offers excellent value for money, with clean, comfortable rooms and a great location in the heart of BGC, just a short walk from SM Aura. The main drawbacks were the long queues during check-in, slow elevators with long waiting times, and the small pool and gym. Still, for the price and location, it's a solid choice."

Where to Stay in Manila

Manila is a city that never stands still. In places like Makati or Bonifacio Global City, the streets are alive with office workers, malls packed with shoppers, and restaurants buzzing late into the night. Music spills out from bars, and traffic hums constantly in the background. But just a short drive or walk away, you can stumble into quiet neighborhoods, old churches, and simple eateries where life feels slower. The city moves between fast and calm, giving you the rush of the crowd and the ease of small, peaceful corners.

Best Areas to Stay in Manila

Getting to and Around Manila

Manila is served by Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA), which has four terminals spread across Pasay and Parañaque. Depending on traffic, getting from the airport to the city can take anywhere from 20 minutes to over an hour.

From NAIA, you can take a Grab car (ride-hailing app), a metered taxi, or an airport bus to different parts of the city. Many hotels also offer airport pickup services if you prefer a hassle-free arrival.

Once in Manila, the easiest ways to get around are by Grab, taxis, or city buses. The MRT and LRT trains are a good option if you want to avoid traffic during rush hours, especially around Makati, Quezon City, and Pasay. For short trips, walking in safe areas like Makati or BGC is also enjoyable, with plenty of cafés and shops along the way.

If you have an early flight or a late-night arrival, staying at a hotel close to the airport or one that offers airport transfers can make your trip much smoother.

Tips for Booking Manila Hotels

Book Early for Peak Seasons

Reserve your hotel ahead of time if you’re visiting during Christmas, New Year, Holy Week, or long weekends. Popular areas like Makati, BGC, and near Mall of Asia fill up fast, and prices usually rise closer to the date.

Watch Out for Major Events

Manila often hosts big concerts, international conventions, and sporting events. These can quickly fill hotels near the venues, especially around Mall of Asia Arena, Araneta Coliseum, or World Trade Center. If you’re traveling during these times, secure your booking early to avoid last-minute stress.

Save with Booking Perks

New Trip.com users can enjoy up to 8% off on selected hotels. That discount could cover a nice dinner in Makati or even help you upgrade to a suite in places like Raffles Makati or Okada Manila.

Stay Smart with Location Choices

You don’t always need to book the priciest hotels in the city center. Consider:

  • Pasay – Convenient if you want to stay close to the airport and Mall of Asia.
  • Ermita or Intramuros – More affordable stays near Manila Bay and historical sites.
  • Quezon City – Great for budget-friendly options, especially if your trip includes university areas, shopping, or food spots.
