Rezen Meta Tree Hotel (City Center & The Bund, Shanghai)

The hotel's location is truly top-notch. The Bund, Nanjing Road, and People's Square are all within easy walking distance, and Yu Garden is just a 10-minute taxi ride away. Right across the street, you'll find classic Shanghai eateries like Lao Ban Zhai and Lao Zheng Xing for great local food. On top of that, they provided a private transfer to the metro station, which makes catching the direct line to Hongqiao Railway Station super convenient. The hotel also provides kids' toothbrushes and slippers, as well as unlimited complimentary bottled water. Excellent value for money! 👍👍👍👍

The location is decent, but the hotel's main entrance is a hotpot restaurant, which is completely different from the photos. The pictures used for the rooms are also inaccurate. The facilities are very basic; the kettle was dirty and old but still in use, and the windows were old-fashioned aluminum frames and quite grimy. The bed linens and duvet covers must have been laundered by an unsanitary service, as they felt uncomfortable against the skin. Highly not recommended.

The hotel is right next to the pedestrian street, just a few minutes' walk from the Bund and Nanjing Road. Aside from the fantastic location, the service was a mixed bag: the housekeeping staff was quite underwhelming. We checked out early in the morning, left our luggage at the front desk, went out for lunch, and shopped for souvenirs along the pedestrian street before heading back in the afternoon to grab our bags for the high-speed train to Hangzhou. During those few hours, nobody mentioned anything about the handmade soft soap and other toiletries we had accidentally left behind in the shower. On a brighter note, the front desk team was outstanding—professional yet genuinely warm, and they communicated effortlessly, politely, and respectfully with international guests. Combining comfort, warmth, professionalism, and a convenient location, the overall experience was great.

The room was very clean, conveniently located, and the soundproofing was quite good. The hygiene conditions were excellent, and the service was warm and attentive. Overall, it was a great experience.

The street in front of the hotel is one-way, which feels safe, and there are many shops nearby with good food. The room is very clean, though not very spacious, indicating it's an older hotel. They have a robot. The lobby manager and staff were also very helpful in solving problems. Overall, it's pretty good!
