Hotel Chalet Shanghai ★★★★
Experience a cozy and modern stay in Shanghai, featuring comfortable rooms, friendly service, and easy access to local attractions and public transport.
Dihang Boutique Hotel (Shanghai Pudong Airport) ★★★
"The environment is clean and tidy, and the facilities are complete. The location is convenient, and the price is affordable. It's definitely worth coming back to."
Yitel Premium (Shanghai people's Square Nanjing Road Pedestrian Street) ★★★★
"Location was superb, exactly as described. Rooms were clean and spacious"
Shanghai People's Square Nanjing East Road Pedestrian Street Treasury Hotel ★★★★
"The hotel's location is super convenient, with lots of food options nearby. It's also very close to the pedestrian street. Highly recommended!"
Holiday Inn Express SHANGHAI PUDONG AIRPORT by IHG ★★★
"Great value for a layover, but brace for the morning rush. Pros: · For the rate, the room is perfectly comfortable and the food is decent. The breakfast spread (seen in the pics) actually offers a good mix—Chinese food, plus coffee and juices. For a quick airport stop, it hits the spot. · Convenient transport: If you skip the shuttle, ordering a taxi directly from the hotel to the airport is super easy and fast. Cons to note: · Elevator & shuttle crowds: The biggest inconvenience is the morning checkout rush. Everyone is heading to the airport at the same time, so the elevators get jammed, and the queue for the bus shuttle can be crowded. It's absolutely fine for the price. Just leave your room 15–20 minutes earlier than you think you need to, or simply grab a taxi from the front door to avoid the shuttle chaos. Would stay again for an early flight."
Zhexuejia Hotel (Shanghai Bund Xiaonanmen Subway Station) ★★
"Environment: The room was very clean and tidy. Service: The front desk staff were very friendly and proactively informed us about the subway operating hours. Hygiene: Good condition, the bathroom was very clean. Overall, a great experience. Thank you for the service!"
Crowne Plaza SHANGHAI NANJING ROAD by IHG ★★★★★
"The staff told me my room had been upgraded, but upon checking in, I found that my king room had been 'upgraded' to a twin room. Although they eventually switched me back to a king room, it turned out to be two twin beds pushed together. There was a 20cm gap on both sides of the bed from the nightstands. And they called this an upgrade! The entire process of handling and communicating with me, a solo traveler, was completely dismissive. I definitely wouldn't recommend this hotel and won't be staying here again!"
Da Zhong Airport Hotel ★★★
"I had an early flight and wanted to avoid a tiring journey, so I decided to stay at an airport hotel the night before. This hotel is conveniently located right between Terminal 1 and Terminal 2. You can take the elevator down from the middle section of the North and South Towers, and then it's just a few minutes' walk to either terminal, which is really handy. However, the hotel facilities are quite old, and as soon as I opened the door, there was a musty smell. Definitely not good value for money."
Mercure Shanghai Yu Garden On the Bund ★★★★
"The front desk staff were very welcoming and provided excellent service. The room was clean and tidy with all the necessary amenities."

Park Hotel Shanghai
"This Art Deco building, designed by the renowned master László Hudec, was built in 1934. Pushing open the bronze revolving doors, guests are immediately immersed in the golden age of old Shanghai, with its towering cream-colored marble columns in the lobby, the valuable historical and cultural museum on the first floor, and the 'Original Coordinate of Shanghai City' plaque embedded in the lobby floor. As an established four-star hotel, its hygiene management meets exceptionally high standards. Although the rooms maintain a classic wooden vintage style, they are spotlessly clean, with dry and comfortable bedding. The solid wood furniture and bathroom facilities are polished to a shine, completely free from the musty or dated feel often found in older buildings. The hotel is directly opposite People's Square, with a metro station right outside the door, and Nanjing Road Pedestrian Street just a few minutes' walk away, making the location incredibly convenient. There's no need to queue with other tourists under the scorching sun; guests can enjoy the special room privilege of priority access to the famous, intensely buttery International Hotel freshly baked butterfly pastries, renowned throughout Shanghai."

It's within walking distance to the subway, making travel very convenient. Service Quality: The staff were friendly and responsive to guest needs, demonstrating a very high level of service overall. Breakfast & Dining: The breakfast offered a wide variety of choices. The French toast and the light meal sets from the patisserie were particularly satisfying, making for a very pleasant dining experience. Facilities & Environment: Although the hotel facilities are a bit dated, they are well-maintained, and the rooms are clean and tidy. The hotel environment is elegant and tranquil, with warm and grand decor."

Gokurakuyu Hot Spring Hotel Shanghai Chuansha
"The hotel exceeded my expectations. The hot springs were very relaxing, and my kids absolutely loved the outdoor water park. Breakfast was decent, with enough variety. Every staff member I encountered was friendly, enthusiastic, and eager to help resolve any issues. They offer a shuttle service to Disneyland, and while the timing didn't work out for us, getting a taxi to and from Disneyland was super convenient as it's very close. There's also an airport shuttle to Pudong Airport, but the schedule was infrequent, so we missed that one too."
Shanghai Xiangyun Resort Hotel
"The rooms were clean and tidy, and the service was attentive and thoughtful. The front desk staff were all very enthusiastic. Where to Stay in Shanghai
Shanghai moves fast but still gives you moments to slow down. In the morning, locals line up at small shops for soy milk, fried dough, and steamed buns while office workers walk briskly toward metro stations. Streets near the river feel calm early on, with joggers, delivery bikes, and cafés opening their doors one by one. In older lanes, you see laundry hanging outside, neighbors chatting, and small eateries preparing noodles for lunch. As the day goes on, the city gets busier. Cars fill the roads, shops along Nanjing Road welcome shoppers, and people move between meetings, meals, and errands. By late afternoon, the light softens along the Bund, couples take photos, and friends meet for coffee or tea. At night, the skyline lights up, restaurants stay open late, and the sound of conversations mixes with traffic and music. Staying in Shanghai feels lively but manageable, with everyday scenes that make the city feel real and easy to enjoy.
