The front desk staff was lovely; the lady at reception paid close attention to the notes I left on Trip.com and even gave me an eye mask. The location is super convenient for transport on weekends, and dining is a breeze with all sorts of malls downstairs and the old street right next door. Breakfast was also fantastic with a great variety of choices. I'll definitely pick this hotel again next time I'm in Kunming."

"When I booked, I specifically requested a quiet room, but the location they gave us was simply unbelievable. The room service staff were very good, I'll give them that, but it was so noisy. The soundproofing is truly terrible. I'm not talking about airplanes flying overhead; it's the constant noise from the hallway that's too loud, like a sports meet is happening right outside! It was supposed to be a family room, but there was no kids' club access, no app, and no screen mirroring! The bed was indeed comfortable, but what's going on with the air conditioning? When we first arrived, it was set to cool, but in the middle of the night, we woke up sweating because it was blowing hot air? Did you randomly adjust it for us? We couldn't even control it ourselves. The smart assistant just kept saying 'I'm here' but couldn't adjust the AC or open the curtains! Is this really a smart room? Only the cleanliness and bed comfort were somewhat satisfactory. The BBQ downstairs was both expensive and terrible!"

👍1. Location. It's truly in the absolute center of Kunming. Downstairs is a pedestrian street, and the Golden Horse and Jade Rooster Archway is right next door (within a 5-minute walk). It's a paradise for food and snacks, with several local internet-famous spots (like roasted pancake, braised dishes, and Qiaoxiangyuan Rice Noodles).
❤️2. Service. Their service, from the front desk to housekeeping, is excellent. We booked different room types this time, and they specially upgraded our rooms to ensure we were all on the same floor. Thank you!
☕3. Breakfast. The hotel's breakfast offers a good variety, generally meeting our needs. There's still room for improvement.
👏4. On the third morning, some of our family members had to catch a train, and the hotel specially packed breakfast for us and left it at the front desk. Five-star service!
🙏5. We left some old clothes in the room that we didn't want, and the hotel specifically came to confirm whether we had forgotten them or if we intended to discard them. Very conscientious and responsible! 👏
👌6. The lobby is a bit small. The guest rooms seem to be on floors 23-28, offering fantastic panoramic views of the surrounding area. Truly excellent.
🤝Suggestion: The garment steamer provided releases steam very quickly once turned on, which could easily cause burns. I've already shared this feedback with the hotel.
Summary: The price is a bit high during peak season, but it's a worthwhile choice during off-peak season. If I had to give a score, I'd give it a 90."

"One thing about booking hotels in China is that you can't usually find the name of the accommodation in English and on Google maps. And that was the main reason for choosing an international brand like Ibis (although the location on Google maps is slightly off.
Location is perfect. Near to the main walking street, and just minutes away from subway station. It is about 20-30 minutes walk from Green Lake park if you prefer to be staying near there. But the park is nothing special.
Room is comfortable, and like all hotels in China, very reasonable for the price. But I find the pillows too soft.
Shower is strong and separated from the toilet. They even have a Japanese-style toilet 😄
Breakfast is ok only.
Staff was very helpful and accommodating."

"The weather in Kunming has been fantastic lately, and the hotel is right by Cuihu Lake, which makes for a lovely stroll. The front desk staff were really enthusiastic and helpful, giving us tips on nearby attractions. They even gave us some delicious snowflake shortbread! Zoey at checkout was wonderful and gave us a small gift, which I really appreciated. Oh, and the tea in the lobby is excellent."

"We were passing by Kunming and only needed to stay one night. The check-in and check-out process was very smooth and the room was lovely and had everything we needed. Location was the best part, the hotel was in the livelypedestrian area but was also close to the streets so we didn't have to carry our luggage far to get a Didi."

"This was my first time staying at a hostel from this chain, the one near Kunming's Zhuanxin Farmers Market, and I remember it had a beautiful bougainvillea bush!
I chose Qincheng Hostel again, this time picking this specific branch because it's super close to Cuihu Lake, Wenlin Street, and Yunnan University. Their restaurant offers a great variety of food and drinks, and I particularly love their curry beef rice. There are activities every day, and especially on Saturday nights, they have a concert. The singer's voice is unique and beautiful, and listening to music in their cozy bar is just the most comfortable experience. 'Hei Mu Ya' (Blackwood Cliff) is their elevated platform, nestled among huge eucalyptus trees. It's really peaceful on rainy days and nice and cool when it's hot."

"My stay at the Kunming Kailan Hotel completely exceeded my expectations – it was an absolutely perfect five-star experience!
From the moment I arrived, I was struck by its unique design. The hotel boasts a rich French-Nanyang style, making it feel like I was instantly transported to a Southern French getaway. The sky lobby on the 10th floor is a real highlight, with its high ceilings, exquisite floral arrangements, and lush greenery, creating a luxurious yet relaxed artistic ambiance. Every photo I took there looked stunning.
The smart room features were excellent. The whole room is voice-controlled, from opening the curtains to let in the morning light to adjusting the indoor lighting, it felt incredibly futuristic and convenient. The bedding was soft and comfortable, and the bathroom amenities were high quality; every detail showed careful thought.
What surprised me most were the hotel's facilities and services. The infinity pool on the 10th floor offers stunning city views, and swimming in the sun or relaxing on a lounge chair was incredibly enjoyable. The breakfast was also surprisingly rich, featuring not only authentic Yunnan rice noodles and special golden pheasant flower scrambled eggs, but also a variety of exquisite Western pastries. It's served from 7:30 AM to 10:00 AM, which is very 'lazy-friendly'.
The service was simply impeccable, from the warm reception at the front desk to the thoughtful service from the butler (like providing hand warmers when it was cold), and the meticulous laundry butler who returned my clothes. Every interaction made me feel warm and valued.
Whether for a business trip or a leisure vacation, Kunming Kailan Hotel is an excellent choice. Its thoughtful design, comprehensive facilities, and exceptional service perfectly embody the five-star standard. Next time I'm in Kunming, this will definitely be my top choice!"
