Hotels in Dianchi Lake Scenic Area/ Sunac World, Kunming

Overall, my stay was incredibly satisfying. The hotel is conveniently located right across from Daguan Park, making it super easy to take a leisurely stroll and enjoy the scenery. The room was meticulously cleaned, and the floating bed was just the right balance of soft and firm, ensuring a peaceful night's sleep. The front desk staff were very welcoming and even offered complimentary tea and bicycle rentals. The facilities are comprehensive, and for those driving, there's free parking with charging stations, which really takes the stress out of traveling. I'll definitely be staying here again on my next trip to Kunming.

The room was spotless, and I slept soundly. I was pleasantly surprised to find the hotel has three restaurants! For a quick bite, there's the buffet. If you're craving Yunnan hotpot, head to Yiduo Cloud, and for Cantonese or Sichuan cuisine, Xile is the place. They really cover all taste preferences, and the prices are very reasonable. Having hot springs, dining, and accommodation all in one place made for a super convenient and relaxing experience!

This newly opened Ming Shu is located in a gated community that is within walking distance to the Haigeng Dam, where the seagulls are. It a a very safe and upmarket area. On the way there, you will pass by many cafes and restaurants serving local specialities. Service is 5 star ***** This Mingshu is a family business, with Mr Deng (see photo) at the helm, with his wife and sister-in-law. Therefore, the service is very personal, with them helping me to buy a luggage last minute. Front desk opens 24 hours. They are all very attentive and helpful. They do airport transfer for a fee and help with my luggage up the stairs. They provide some cakes and pastry with tea (see photo) everyday at the lobby. There is also a tea set for us to enjoy (see photo) in the room, as well as a massage chair in mine. The room itself is as shown in listing and it is very clean. It is a smart room with Xiao Ai voice system. The room has both air conditioning and heating. Overall, I am very happy with this Ming Shu and the service! Highly recommended to stay here!

The location is convenient if you're driving or taking a taxi. The facilities are excellent; the high ceilings are a joy. The room layout is well-designed and compact, and the marble slab by the window is perfect for kids to do their homework. The hotel breakfast is incredibly rich; we stayed for three nights and found different delightful surprises each day. The local Yunnan snacks and other Chinese dishes were delicious, and the afternoon tea had tasty pastries. The thick room doors made for a great sleeping experience, very quiet and peaceful. The bedding was comfortable. If it weren't for our travel plans, we would have loved to stay a couple more days.

The only good thing about this stay was Mila at the front desk, who was very welcoming and helpful. Everything else was a disappointment. We booked a suite, and here are the issues: 1. The cleanliness was poor. There was dust and lint all over the headboard. 2. We found hair from previous guests everywhere. 3. The water pressure was very low, and the hot water was only lukewarm, not hot enough for kids to wash properly. 4. Service response was slow. It took a long time for items to be delivered after calling the front desk. 5. Breakfast was mediocre. The coffee was extremely weak. When we gave feedback to a staff member, their response was, 'Weak? It's still weak? We find it so bitter we don't even dare to drink it...' I don't think that's the kind of service attitude one should have.

I've stayed at this hotel twice now, and the service, facilities, and even the meditation classes have consistently been excellent. The hotel's ambiance and scent create a peaceful and pleasant atmosphere, and the green views from the windows and the design are incredibly relaxing. All the staff members are exceptionally kind and friendly, always greeting you. I particularly appreciate the hotel's cultural offerings and the thoughtful little details – they've put a lot of care into them. The breakfast is delicious too. Location-wise: across the road is Daguan Park and Yuyuan, perfect for a morning stroll. There are also dedicated cycling and running paths right outside the hotel. It's about a 10-minute taxi ride to Haigeng Dam, and Cuihu Lake isn't too far either. Overall, it offers great value for money; it's healing, quiet, and truly feels like a home away from home.

This is my second stay here, and I have to say again, the guesthouse environment is truly excellent. We stayed on the third floor this time, and the decor is pretty much the same as the second floor. The room was very quiet, and there's a large terrace right outside where you can sit and enjoy the breeze in the evening. The breakfast this time was also very rich, with many varieties, and everything tasted great. I especially loved the millet porridge and the Beibei pumpkin. All the other dishes were delicious too, and it came with fruit. Staying at the guesthouse really feels like home. Everyone is so warm and friendly. They even helped us heat up the food we brought and delivered it to our room door. Every time we saw them, they'd naturally greet us. Service is fundamental and the most important thing here. Highly recommended!!! Whether it's for a weekend getaway or a trip from out of town, I highly recommend coming here. At this price point, it has no competition! [Strong]

The overall stay experience far exceeded expectations! The design of the guest room is light and luxurious, the whole wooden veneer wall is matched with soft wall lights, the atmosphere is warm and high-end, the big bed is fluffy and skin-friendly, and sleeps peacefully without interruption. The outdoor courtyard is too pleasant. The white stones are matched with succulent scenery and sun-shaking leisure area. It is especially pleasant to bask in the sun in the afternoon and drink tea. The lighting and environment are well controlled. The details in the store are clean and tidy, and the environment is quiet. It is suitable for leisure travel or short trips. It is highly recommended!

Location: Situated within the Sunac Houhai scenic area, it's very close to Qikong Bridge and offers a lovely green 'grass sea' walking path, which is very convenient. It's about four kilometers from Daguan Park. This location keeps you away from the tacky and overpriced old streets. Nearby, there's a delicious Yunnan Daoguo Bridge Rice Noodles restaurant where the sour fruit and red soup noodles are excellent. There's also a great handmade bakery with fantastic cakes and some coffee shops with really creative flavors. The night view is also beautiful, with many lanterns. Service: The front desk staff were absolutely amazing, a big thumbs up! The tea cakes served with afternoon tea were also very tasty. Breakfast: Made fresh for each table. I stayed for two nights and there were different menu options to choose from. On the second day, my room was upgraded to an English-style river view king room, and the view was fantastic.

Facilities: We booked a family room. We expected a 1.8-meter bed and a 1.3-meter bed, but we ended up with two 1.8-meter beds, which delighted my daughter. The room was spacious, with a long table. It was divided into two areas: the inner and outer areas, with the bathroom at the inner end separated by two curtains. This provided privacy while still allowing us to share a large space. Cleanliness: The room was exceptionally clean. The bedding was brand new, spotlessly white, and spotless. Although Kunming is known for its rainy weather, the weather was pleasantly cool and not humid during our stay. The climate was a pleasant surprise for our family. Environment: The B&B is located in a villa complex, a few minutes' walk from the Dianchi Haigeng bus stop. My family and I found the area quite comfortable. The complex is quiet, with several B&Bs nearby, some occupied and some seemingly unoccupied. Overall, it felt peaceful and safe. The B&B is a small, independent villa with succulents planted downstairs. The environment is small and charming, but not overly large. Service: The service is very good. It is run by a family. The girl will deliver breakfast to the room around 8 o'clock in the morning. The breakfast is a small steamed bun, a small dumpling, a box of purple rice porridge and a tea egg for each person. I can eat it full, but if you don’t like it, you can choose to walk out of the community and walk a few hundred meters towards the dam. There are many local delicacies, rice noodles, mushroom soup, etc. I have eaten at several of them and they all taste very good.
