Hotels in Chenggong New District/South High-Speed Railway Station, Kunming

This is hands down the best value-for-money hotel I've ever stayed at. It's right outside Kunming South Station, a mere 300 meters away in a straight line. We booked it because we were arriving late one night and needed to pick up a car early the next morning. The hotel offers a shuttle service to and from the station, and the staff are incredibly friendly. The breakfast spread was also very generous. The room facilities were excellent, and since it's a relatively new hotel, everything was spotlessly clean. Highly recommend!

The Huarong Designer Hotel was a fantastic experience! The pillows were soft and perfectly cradled my neck, and the mattress was plush and comfortable for sleeping. I was pleasantly surprised with a room upgrade upon check-in. The front desk service was attentive and excellent. The room itself was clean and well-designed. I had a very comfortable stay and highly recommend it. It's also conveniently located, not far from the subway station.

I stayed one night at the Hilton Garden Inn Kunming South, which was the last night of my Yunnan trip, and I was very satisfied. Both the interior and exterior of the hotel are beautiful, with lots of floral and green elements. The internal corridors are exceptionally wide, enough for three or four people to walk side-by-side, feeling more spacious than other chain hotels I've stayed in. The surroundings are very convenient. It's near a university town, with all sorts of delicious snacks, night markets, and restaurants nearby. The pickled cabbage and beef hotpot was especially good. It's also close to Kunming South Railway Station, and they offer complimentary shuttle service to and from the station. The hotel staff provided excellent service. The female receptionist was very kind and enthusiastic, giving me a free room upgrade. There was also an auntie who helped with laundry, and the shuttle driver was very good too. It's definitely worth staying here.

We had a very pleasant stay at Wanda Realm Kunming. The hotel is about 50 minutes from Kunming Changshui International Airport by car. Our room was spacious, clean, and comfortable for two people. The air conditioning worked well, and the shower had strong water pressure with plenty of hot water. The staff were friendly and welcoming throughout our stay. We especially appreciated being able to leave our luggage at the hotel after check-out before our late flight. When we arrived, we were also given complimentary fresh fruit, which was a nice touch. The hotel also offers free Chinese tea in the lobby for guests. The hotel is connected to Wanda Plaza, which is convenient if you want to do some shopping, although we found the mall itself to be fairly average. For Muslim travellers, there is a convenience store in the mall that sells a few halal food options. There are also several halal restaurants about 10 minutes away by DiDi, near Kunming Municipal Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital. The food there is delicious and much more affordable than the restaurants around Nanping Street. Nanping Street has a wider variety of local food, but prices tend to be higher. Overall, Wanda Realm Kunming offers great value for money. With comfortable rooms, friendly service, and easy access to halal food, it’s a great choice for both business and leisure travellers.

Awesome hotel near to the train station. There are several hotels in the same building, but the front desk staff (of other hotels) located at the ground floor lobby are very friendly and they will guide you to the correct floor. Just outside the hotel, there are many restaurants and convenience stores. The hotel room is also spotlessly clean. From the breakfast area, you can see the trains arriving and departing the Kunming South Railway station and is very nice. The hotel also has a free shuttle to send you the Railway station, which is very nice, when you are catching the early morning train.

I initially booked this hotel online without much thought, and honestly, the value for money is absolutely incredible. The lobby greeted me with a lovely floral scent, and the front desk staff were professional and efficient, making check-in super fast. They patiently answered all my questions, and when they found out we enjoyed watching sports, they even upgraded us to a deluxe cinema king room. Watching the World Cup on the 120-inch screen was fantastic! The room was spotless, the bathroom had no strange odors or water stains, and the bedding was soft and comfortable. The whole room was well-ventilated and felt fresh. The facilities were well-maintained and looked new; the lighting, hot water, and air conditioning all worked perfectly. The soundproofing was excellent, so I wasn't bothered by any hallway noise. Downstairs, it's right next to Wanda Plaza, and just a bit further is Qicai Yunnan No.1 City, so you can find any kind of food you're craving. Unfortunately, it's been raining a lot in Kunming recently. I went out without an umbrella, got caught in the rain, and started feeling a bit sick. I ordered some medicine and filled in the address provided by the front desk, but after waiting over half an hour, it still hadn't arrived. My phone even showed it as delivered. I called the delivery driver to ask where it was, and it turned out he had delivered it to the wrong building. He refused to come back and redeliver it, and then hung up on me, which made me furious. I asked the front desk for help finding my medicine. When they learned I had a cold, they brought me a cup of hot water for my medicine and thoughtfully brought an umbrella, reminding me that it's rainy season in Kunming and it's better to carry one. Their service truly warmed my heart. I will definitely be strongly recommending this place to my friends here.

On my third day at the hotel, I witnessed a small incident. An elderly guest was checking out, but the wheels on his suitcase were broken, making it impossible to drag. The young lady at the front desk tried to help fix it without success and was looking anxious when Manager Gao happened to pass by. Instead of calling engineering, he knelt down and carefully examined the suitcase. ”Uncle, let me help you arrange a courier to send it back, and we'll cover the shipping fee,” he said, pulling out his phone to place an order. The old man waved his hand repeatedly, ”No, no, I'll figure it out myself.” But Manager Gao insisted, ”You've come all the way to Kunming to enjoy your trip; we can't let a broken suitcase spoil it. This is what we should do.” Ten minutes later, the courier arrived to pick up the luggage. The old man, with tears in his eyes, shook Manager Gao's hand. This incident reminded me of a previous experience at a certain luxury hotel – same situation, but the manager just officially pointed to the maintenance number. The dividing line in service often lies in this 'extra step' of sincerity.

The location is excellent, walking to Chaoyang Building, it is very convenient to visit the night market at night. The room was quiet, cleaned very clean, and the stay was full. The homestay is in the ancient city, the old street is out, and it takes a few minutes to walk to Zhujia Garden and Chaoyang Building. The small courtyard is quiet and elegant, the room is clean, the bedding is soft, and the bathroom is very clean. The boss is very good, will recommend us delicious restaurants and play routes, very intimate. The price is also very real, the overall experience exceeds expectations, recommended to friends who come to Jianshui to play. 2. The hotel where I came to live by car, parking is very convenient. The room is large, the lighting is very good, there is no smell, the sound insulation effect is good, and I sleep well at night. The check-in speed at the front desk is fast and the service attitude is very good. It takes ten minutes to take a taxi from the ancient city, and there are many restaurants around. Very good value for money, whether it is a tour or a business trip is very suitable. 3. The experience of the boutique homestay is full! The decoration is very local characteristics of Jianshui, and the yard is very suitable for taking pictures. The hotel boasts an elegant environment and excellent hygiene. The bedding is comfortable, and the soundproofing is great. It's incredibly convenient for getting around and shopping. The staff are warm and attentive, ensuring a pleasant stay throughout. I'm very satisfied with the service and highly recommend it.

Facilities: This is a newly opened hotel occupying the top floors of a building. The facilities are very new, with the only minor drawback being that elevator wait times can occasionally be long. Cleanliness: The cleanliness was excellent. I encountered two cleaning ladies who were very diligent and thorough in their work. Environment: The hotel is located across from Wuyue Plaza, and to the west, there's a large park. Being on a higher floor, our room offered a beautiful view of Dianchi Lake and Xishan Mountain. Although it rained every day during our stay, the misty scenery added a unique charm. Service: The service was very attentive. We changed rooms midway through our stay, and the front desk helped us move our belongings, while the hotel staff assisted with tidying up the beds. After checking out, we left something behind, and they proactively called to communicate about it. Hotel parking is free; however, after providing your license plate number, you need to exit within fifteen minutes, so don't contact the front desk too early to register your plate. The underground parking has TELD charging stations, but they are slow chargers and relatively expensive. The complimentary drinks at the front desk were a hit with my child.
