Excellent
AandersonCKThe hotel's location is excellent, just a short walk from Kunming Old Street. The old street area is bustling with shops, offering a wide variety of food, shopping, and daily necessities, making it incredibly convenient.
Although the hotel isn't large, it's very well-equipped. What I appreciated most was the dry and wet separation in the bathroom and toilet. While not spacious, it was very comfortable to use.
The room features a 'Xiao Du' voice assistant, which is both practical and thoughtful. They also provide two sodas (Coke and Sprite); it would be even better if juice options were added in the future. The bed in the room was incredibly comfortable – I consider myself a connoisseur of beds, but this one ensured a perfect night's sleep, and the pillows were exactly to my liking. There's also a projector in the room, allowing you to comfortably lie in bed and watch movies, which was very relaxing.
Due to our schedule, we requested a late check-out, and the hotel readily agreed, which felt very accommodating and showed genuine hospitality. The staff were friendly and polite, always ready to answer questions and went out of their way to assist with any issues. The service was truly exceptional.
Overall, I can hardly find any faults. My only minor suggestion is to improve the drainage of the sink; currently, it accumulates a bit of water after use, but it's not a major issue. Another hope is that the hotel tries to prevent guests from smoking in the lobby. This not only affects air quality but also damages the hotel's overall image. If these points could be addressed, I believe the hotel would reach an even higher level.

Outstanding
AAnonymous UserI originally planned to stay for just one day during my transit, but ended up staying for four! The location is great, and the guesthouse is quite spacious. It was lovely to watch the night view from the terrace in the evenings and sunbathe during the day. The weather in Yunnan is amazing; everywhere you look is beautiful. The place is clean, and since it was the off-season, it wasn't crowded, making for a very pleasant and comfortable stay.

YY3U3K0II recently stayed at Lanfeng Homestay near Kunming Railway Station, and it turned out to be an excellent choice for both convenience and comfort. From the moment I checked in, I was impressed by the overall cleanliness of the property. The rooms were spotless, well-maintained, and clearly cared for with attention to detail. The bedding was fresh and comfortable, which made for a good night’s rest after long days of travel.
The homestay itself is very comfortable, providing just the right balance of simplicity and warmth. The interior is thoughtfully arranged, with enough space for luggage and all the essentials a traveler might need. The atmosphere feels welcoming, making it easy to relax and feel at home.
One of the biggest highlights is the location. Being within walking distance of Kunming Railway Station, it is incredibly convenient for catching trains or exploring the city. There are also many local shops, restaurants, and public transport options nearby, which makes getting around very easy. Despite being so close to the station, the environment inside the homestay remains quiet and peaceful.
In terms of value, Lanfeng Homestay is a great deal. The price is very reasonable considering the quality of the stay, the cleanliness of the facilities, and the prime location. It’s a practical choice for travelers who want comfort without spending too much.
Overall, I would highly recommend Lanfeng Homestay to anyone visiting Kunming, especially if you are traveling by train. It’s clean, comfortable, and excellent value for money, with a location that can’t be beaten. Whether you are staying just one night before a train journey or planning a longer visit, this homestay offers a reliable and enjoyable experience.

LLuxiangbeibeiMy friend highly recommended this place, saying the area is fantastic and super convenient, and the shuttle service was a huge plus. The shuttle service to/from the South High-Speed Rail Station was excellent. Overall, the service was truly impeccable, and there are plenty of great dining options nearby. I'll definitely choose this hotel again for my next trip.

FfyzbamIt's not my first hotel that i chose but it is ok in terms of amenities. Location top tier !!!... near to halal foods and malls and walkable to all tourist attraction .the minus for services are for the broken escalator and there are no bell boy to take our beg up and down from the room .Other then that just so so .... the receptionist is kind enough to let us check out a few minutes late with no extra charge ... would recommend this hotel 8/10 to others but you can try other hotel also 🥰🤗👌🏻

LLidusGreat location, look for the yellow boards and you will find it easily. The room items are little bit used but all is all right and clean. I would not recommend to stay during cold nights - the room doesnt have AC. I was staying in room 207 and i heard all noise from stairs, even just walking and also people in room 206 were awake and screaming whole night so be aware of that.
GGuest UserThe hotel is newly renovated, the room is very comfortable, there is a snack street downstairs, it is convenient, the hotel service is very good, and it is also very close to the high-speed rail. Relatively speaking, it is comfortable to stay and the experience is good. You can choose this hotel if you are transiting nearby!

AAliya0302nice and friendly owners! even picked me up from subway station, when I was feeling lost, great location of the hotel, 3min walk from subway station (C exit) , old street, wenlin street, zoo - all in walking distance from the hotel, like in 10-20 min, the room is simple, not very big, but has everything what you need, clean and comfy bed, window, shower, toilet (squating, if for you that matter), kettle, even complimentary bottle of water. Wifi was good, stable. Also they let me storage my luggage for a day for free. All in all, great place, very thankful to owners and wish them all the best!

PPsymondDespite the convenient location, comfortable beds, and all-important quiet sleep we managed to get, the hotel's communication to arrange our pick up from the train station at night and what turned out to be a self-check-in was just dismal, clearly needing more training to ensure better organisation for future guests. The following constructive advice is to help the hotel improve and for (particularly foreign) guests to note:
1. Ask for guests' phone number and inform the driver well in advance of our arrival, instead of waiting till the very last minute to do so. We reached out to the hotel via WeChat the day before and rightfully received detailed instructions (in Chinese) to find the driver (the pick up service is actually outsourced to a separate company using 3 different vans), but once we found the van, the driver angrily insisted we call the hotel to identify us by confirming our phone number - we were not allowed to board without the hotel's confirmation, which should have been done directly with the driver well in advance of our arrival.
2. This hotel is not manned after hours, let alone 24 hours, so please make it known well beforehand that we will have to check in ourselves if arriving after hours, and provide clear instructions on how to do so instead of communicating them through the phone while guiding us using the security cameras. It is not the guests' responsibility to do your administrative work (to report ourselves to the authorities by scanning the police QR code and filling out our details) at 11 o'clock at night when we have an early morning train to catch the following day. The hotel should allow guests to enter the room as soon as possible upon arrival, not have us wait half an hour while they struggle with what was clearly their first time checking in foreign guests - worse still over the phone - insisting that this be done before we could enter our room.
3. If the hotel truly wants the patronage of foreign guests, they will have to prioritise our convenience and comfort over theirs by actually having someone check us in in-person. Remotely doing so to save costs is as absurd as expecting foreign guests to communicate our details over the phone, sending photos of ourselves, our passport details etc. via WeChat, and then finding our room card and the room by talking to someone over the phone in Chinese. At the very least, these requirements and instructions should be clearly produced and communicated beforehand so that nothing is improvised.
We hope the above experience helps improve what is a decent hotel providing good value for money.
