Hotels in Railway Station Area, Kunming

The room was spacious, with great natural light and fresh air. In addition to free hot water and tea in the lobby, there are ceramic cups and a kettle in the room. Daily housekeeping, even if you leave the room late, or a change of all towels including shower mat, and water bottles refill. The bedsheets are changed every three days, or if needed even before. There is a clothes line in the shower in case you wash things by hand, and the hotel has a laundry room on the 2nd floor, which has two washing machines, an air dryer and lots of hangers, plus a steamer. Front desk staff is very helpful and friendly, available 24/7. It is not far from the South Ring Rd. Metro station, or otherwise the hotel has a standby taxi that’s always available.

We were a family of two adults and one child, and we booked two king rooms. The front desk lady informed us that the king room type we booked was only 20 square meters and there was only one on each floor, which would make communication inconvenient for us. So, she kindly upgraded us for free to two 40-square-meter king rooms with city views right next to each other. The rooms were clean and airy, and the high-floor city view was absolutely stunning, perfect for watching the sunset. The bedding was clean and comfortable. The only minor issue was that the bed only had power outlets and switches on one side. Our child absolutely loved the bean bag chair! The projector offered a super large screen, and unlike most hotels where you can't watch anything without a video membership, at least the movie app here let us watch whatever we wanted, and the content was very up-to-date. The bathroom didn't have a smart toilet, but the shower water pressure was incredibly strong, and the water heated up in just a few seconds, making for a very comfortable shower experience. The hotel's location is also excellent, just a 10-minute walk from Kunming Railway Station, and most food delivery services can reach it. We originally booked for one night but ended up extending our stay to three nights plus half a day. A big shoutout to the front desk staff, both the gentlemen and ladies! Our flight was suddenly canceled, and we needed to contact the airline to rebook. Since we didn't have a local phone, the front desk staff lent us their phones multiple times, which was a huge help. We are very grateful!

Having traveled to over 20 countries, this is my first time reviewing an accommodation. When you're on the road, you often miss home. But not here! We booked the Loft, with a living room on the first floor and a bedroom on the second, it felt just like home. We enjoyed tea daily, and the hotel even provided complimentary afternoon tea. The 24-hour butler service was excellent, always available and responsive. They thoughtfully prepared a travel guide for us. The daily breakfast was a delicious mix of Chinese and Western options! We will definitely be back.

The hotel's decor isn't modern; it has a traditional American style. The bathroom mirror and wall sconces reminded me of a home I once lived in, which had a similar design, so it felt very nostalgic. Although the room's facilities show their age, you can tell they've been meticulously cared for and well-maintained by the hotel staff. The cleanliness is spot-on, and the hotel service is very attentive, friendly, and polite. I recommend the connecting rooms for families; they offer plenty of space while still providing a good degree of privacy. The location is excellent. Just a short walk from the hotel, you can find authentic 'xiaoguo mixian' (small-pot rice noodles) and local barbecue. You can easily reach many wild mushroom hotpot restaurants by scooter. It was really enjoyable taking the kids around to experience the cityscape of Kunming.

Service: The service was absolutely fantastic! I was experiencing altitude sickness when I arrived, and the lady at the front desk was incredibly helpful, assisting me with various adjustments. She even guided me late at night on how to order oxygen tank delivery (the small shop downstairs, run by non-hotel staff, sold them, but the owner was often absent, and prices weren't clearly marked, making purchases difficult). I was able to change my room if I wasn't satisfied and even got a free upgrade. Cleanliness: The room was very clean and tidy. Environment: There was a slight furniture smell inside, but it wasn't a big issue. The hotel's external location is right next to the train station, within walking distance of Kunming Railway Station. Facilities: The facilities were quite comprehensive, and the front desk staff did their best to accommodate requests.

We had a very enjoyable stay at Holiday Inn Kunming. The room was clean, comfortable, and spacious enough for our family of four. The location is excellent, just a short walk from the train station, making it a great choice for travelers catching an early morning train. A special thank you to Harriet and Amy at reception. We had some issues with a food delivery order, and they were quick to assist and follow up until everything was sorted out. Their helpfulness made our stay much smoother. The hotel also has good self-service laundry facilities, with washing machines and dryers that worked very well, a big plus for families and longer trips. There are plenty of good food options nearby too. We found a great local restaurant just a 5-minute walk from the hotel and have included a photo for reference. Overall, a comfortable stay with friendly service and a very convenient location. We would gladly stay here again.

This hotel is a hidden gem, offering peace and quiet right between the East and West Pagodas, and next to Jinri Building. The location is absolutely fantastic, with a huge tree providing shade right at the entrance. There are plenty of dining options nearby, which is very convenient. The hotel's design is elegant, and you can see the unique and thoughtful touches everywhere – in the rooms, lobby, and restaurant. I regret not taking more photos! We ended up staying an extra night in Kunming due to a cancelled flight and booked this hotel on a whim, and it was a delightful surprise. The front desk staff were incredibly warm, proactive, and attentive. While we were out sightseeing during the day, they proactively moved our stored luggage to our room. They even brought the afternoon tea we missed directly to our room. For breakfast, we chose the Crossing the Bridge Noodles, and the broth was incredibly fresh and delicious – honestly, better than the mushroom hotpot we'd had for the past few days.

Seriously can't recommend this place enough for business trips! For this price, it felt like a 4-star experience – amazing value for money! The service was incredibly thoughtful! When I arrived with a big suitcase, the staff member immediately offered to help and even upgraded me to a family room. My impression of the hotel shot up instantly! The ambiance was right up my alley! The yellow-themed room was bright and cozy, with adorable cartoon prints on the wall and cute deer figurines. There was even a small sofa by the window, perfect for chilling with my phone at night – so comfortable! The cleanliness details were top-notch! As soon as I entered the room, I noticed a faint scent of disinfectant. The sheets and duvet covers were freshly changed, and even the hangers and bathrobes smelled like they'd been sun-dried. I felt completely at ease staying there! Getting around was super convenient! There's a bus stop right downstairs, and the subway entrance is just a 10-minute walk away. It's super close to all the attractions and shopping districts, which is perfect for us 'walking warriors'! For this price, you absolutely have to book this place! I'll definitely be staying here again on my next visit!

This hotel is a standout among budget-friendly options. Overall, my stay was quite good. The location is very convenient, less than fifteen minutes from the high-speed train station, and there are eateries right downstairs. Plus, there's a barbecue and snack stall across the street at night, making it super easy to get around and shop. The room was also exceptionally clean. The facilities were complete, the space was generous, and the latex mattress was incredibly soft and comfortable – an absolute lifesaver for someone like me who struggles with sleep; I slept very soundly. The bathroom had a separate wet and dry area, and the disposable slippers and toiletries were of good quality. The front desk lady was warm and patient, handled check-in efficiently, and even escorted me to my room. Her attention to detail and willingness to help with anything was much appreciated. The laundry room is also a huge plus! Excellent value for money!!!
