Hotels in Cuihu District, Kunming

My partner and I came to Yunnan for our honeymoon during the off-peak season. The front desk lady added me on WeChat beforehand to ask about our preferences and any special requirements. The concierge even thoughtfully sent us directions to the hotel. I have to say, Kunming really has so much delicious food! It's our first time here, and it feels like we could spend several days just exploring this area. **Facilities:** The overall furnishings are quite tasteful. Although the decor and history of this place feel quite dated, you can tell a lot of effort went into it. All the furniture is made of rosewood, and it's clear that the design of the pavilions, terraces, and soft furnishings perfectly aligns with Chinese aesthetics. It's truly beautiful, as if every scene was specifically designed by a professional. There's a really, really large executive lounge that's perfect for photos – it feels more like an upscale business club. It's also great for families and friends! Every single staff member's service was truly exceptional. They enthusiastically greeted us every time they saw us 😄 It was a very, very satisfying experience!

The bougainvillea in the courtyard is absolutely beautiful, and the environment is very comfortable. You can play billiards and table tennis here. The food in the restaurant is also delicious. It's quite close to Green Lake and the subway station, making it convenient for getting around.

This is an excellent hotel! I'm getting on in years, so I'm a bit slow and hard of hearing. When I was checking in, I asked a lot of questions, but Xiao Sun at the front desk was incredibly patient. She spoke gently and explained everything to me slowly and clearly, word by word. When I wanted to know about places to visit nearby or bus routes, the front desk staff patiently gave me detailed directions and even reminded me to be careful when I went out. One night, I had a small issue and called the front desk, and they were very enthusiastic and helpful in resolving it. I highly recommend staying here!

We love the free laundry service, the hotel staff sent our washed and dried clothes to our rooms the next morning. All towels were sealed in bags to ensure cleanliness. We were served honey drinks immediately when the staff met us at the counter. The rooms we booked were spacious. The location is definitely excellent. I highly recommend this hotel.

The soundproofing is really poor. The conversations and door-slamming from the room next door were unbelievably loud. The bathroom door hits the sink, so you have to close the door to wash your hands, which is genuinely inconvenient. The air conditioner was clanking all night, and I didn't get any sleep. However, the front desk staff were excellent – friendly and polite. They deserve a big thumbs up.

Traveling with my parents, we received a free room upgrade. The room was clean and complimentary fruit was provided. The front desk staff, especially one young lady, was very patient and helpful. The hotel is very close to Cuihu Park and within walking distance of Kunming Old Street, which is incredibly convenient.

Five stars, highly recommended! This is an old, established state guesthouse in Kunming that you absolutely must stay at. Its heritage, views, and service are all top-notch. The location is unbeatable, directly facing Cuihu Park. Open the French windows and you're greeted with lake views and weeping willows. In autumn and winter, you can even spot red-billed gulls. Yunnan University and the Yunnan Military Academy are within walking distance, making it convenient for exploring the old city without much travel. The hotel's design was partly conceived by I.M. Pei, blending new Chinese style with retro Art Deco. The lobby's gilded lotus sculpture, rosewood carvings, and vintage staircase create an incredible ambiance. The gardens are tranquil and elegant, and every photo you take captures the unique, understated elegance of a historic five-star hotel. Service is gentle, understated, and perfectly balanced, never intrusive. Upon check-in, guests receive fresh flowers and welcome fruits, and the room is refreshed daily with Yunnan-style floral arrangements. Turndown service includes peach gum and white fungus soup, along with seagull-shaped cookies – thoughtful details that truly shine. The 24-hour butler service is on-call, and staff members politely greet guests, always professional and sincere. The room comfort exceeded expectations. The bedding is soft and plush, and the soundproofing is excellent. During the dry season, the whole-house humidity control system is a lifesaver, especially for those with allergies. The bathroom features a built-in TV in the bathtub and electric privacy glass. All mini-bar drinks are complimentary, and there's even freshly ground Yunnan small-grain coffee, adding a distinct local touch. Breakfast is served in the lake-view restaurant, offering a rich variety of authentic dishes, including freshly prepared Crossing-the-Bridge Noodles, 'posu bao' (flaky steamed buns), and rose 'naiba Jiu' (a local milky wine). Dining by the lake creates an exceptional atmosphere. The accompanying heated pool is clean and uncrowded, perfect for relaxation. Whether for business or leisure, this hotel is perfectly suited. Its century-old refined quality is irreplaceable. I will definitely choose Cuihu Hotel again on my next visit to Kunming!

Fantastic hotel- I like the Totoro theme. The location is perfect, near lots of good foods and beverages. The one thing is that Amap's navigation system is worthless and it will attempt to route foot traffic through buildings and walls to get here- if you're using Amap to navigate here, I recommend instead entering as your destination: Iceberg Bar (a bar next to the front entrance of the hotel). I then recommend getting a cocktail at Iceberg Bar! It is seriously world-class.

My stay at Gongguan Hotel was excellent. As soon as I entered, I was impressed by the beautiful lobby design and pleasant atmosphere. The service was warm and welcoming. My room was spotlessly clean, the bedding was comfortable, and all the amenities were fully functional. The voice-controlled smart features were a nice touch, freeing up my hands, and the direct drinking water dispenser was very convenient and hygienic. Overall, a great experience, and I would definitely choose to stay here again.

First time seeing a hotel with its entrance around the corner, and a really inconspicuous front desk. We booked a twin room, and it was a bit small; there was barely any space apart from the two beds, nowhere to put our two suitcases. However, it's worth mentioning that the hotel's service was excellent, and they gave us a souvenir when we checked in and checked out. The restaurant on the 19th floor has a fantastic view, overlooking the entire city of Kunming. There's also a pool and bar on the top floor, which is a major highlight of this hotel.
