This stay was absolutely perfect. The hotel has 10 floors and boasts an elegant and refined French decor throughout; the moment you step inside, you're enveloped in a wonderful ambiance. What truly touched me was the service. I wasn't feeling well during my stay, and the staff not only proactively showed concern but also specially came to my room door to collect my laundry and help wash it. Any request was met with an immediate response; they were genuinely as caring as family. The breakfast also deserves praise – a wide variety and delicious! The best part is that for such a high-quality experience, the price was incredibly reasonable, offering excellent value for money. Traveling back from Lijiang, I chose the Howard Johnson Life Hotel in Kunming, mainly because of its close proximity to Shuangqiao Night Market, making it super convenient for exploring and dining. The hotel's overall design is quite stylish. I booked a comfortable king room; it wasn't huge, but it was cozy, clean, and very comfortable to stay in. I especially want to praise the front desk service! We arrived in Kunming on an early morning train around 5 AM, and got to the hotel at 4 PM, which was still before the standard 2 PM check-in time. The front desk lady was incredibly thoughtful and arranged an early check-in for us right away, even throwing in five complimentary breakfasts. Otherwise, we would have been stuck waiting with all our luggage, which would have been exhausting. This gesture really saved us a lot of trouble and made our experience fantastic. Breakfast was pretty standard for a city hotel – decent quality and taste. My only minor regret is that the afternoon tea selection was a bit limited with not many options. Overall, I highly recommend this hotel, especially if you're looking to visit Shuangqiao Night Market; its location is a huge advantage.

This guesthouse, opened last year, is wonderfully clean and tidy, with fresh air and a comfortable environment. The bedding is spotless. It's in a great location with convenient transport links, surrounded by all sorts of delicious food options, including the biggest night market, Shuangqiao Night Market. The hotel environment is great, and there are many convenient dining options nearby, which was perfect for entertaining friends. The room was quiet, the shower had excellent water pressure, and the internet speed was very fast. When they were cleaning, they heard we were tourists and thoughtfully gave us extra bottles of water. The breakfast was incredibly rich, almost like a five-star experience, with a wide variety of dishes. The staff were warm and served with a smile. The food tasted good and had local specialties. Highly recommended! The hotel is also very close to the train station, making it quick to catch high-speed rail. The front desk staff were incredibly efficient and professional and even gave us a small gift. The lobby bar has a good selection of coffee, and it tastes great. The room is typical of a HUAZHU hotel chain, quite spacious. The stairs were a bit of a slope, which made it very inconvenient to carry luggage, but the front desk staff helped me with it, so the service was quite good. The room was next to an elevated highway, but if you close the windows, the soundproofing is excellent – you can't hear a thing. The only downside is that the room felt a bit damp, and the duvet felt a little clammy. Also, it might be a newly opened hotel because there was a slight lingering smell of renovation. Overall, it's perfectly fine as a place to rest during a layover. They even gave me a souvenir when I checked out.

I had a wonderful stay at Junze Hotel with my group of four. The room was surprisingly spacious, we had more than enough room to move around comfortably, and there was plenty of furniture to store our belongings and relax. The beds were comfortable, and the layout worked really well for a group. The location was fantastic, just a short walk from plenty of night food stalls and local restaurants perfect for grabbing a late-night bite after a long day of exploring. The cleanliness was top-notch, and the room had everything we needed, including a hairdryer, good air conditioning, and reliable Wi-Fi. But what really stood out was the friendly and helpful staff. They made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived and were always ready to help with anything we needed.

This stay completely exceeded my expectations—it's truly a hidden gem! The location is a huge plus; it's just a few minutes' walk to the subway station, and there's a bus stop right outside. Plus, there are plenty of great restaurants and shopping areas nearby. The front desk staff was incredibly attentive, checking me in quickly and kindly. They even proactively recommended some local, lesser-known spots to visit, showing a great attention to detail. The room was impeccably clean, and the bedding was so soft it felt like sleeping on clouds. The soundproofing was excellent, ensuring a wonderfully peaceful night's sleep. We booked a family suite, but check-in went awry. First, we were told the previous guest hadn't checked out yet and that we could check in at 2:00 PM. We were kept waiting, but when we asked again after 3:00 PM, we were told we'd have to wait nearly another hour. After finally waiting long enough, we were told the so-called ”family suite” was actually two completely separate rooms, one with twin beds and one with a king-size bed. It wasn't even a suite! How could this be a suite? It was clearly two ordinary rooms slapped together to be a ”family suite” to trick people! For us, a family with children, this arrangement was incredibly inconvenient. Having the children running back and forth between the two rooms was a hassle, and we had to constantly worry about their safety. There was absolutely no convenience or interactive space that a suite should have. We booked for the comfort and convenience of a ”suite,” but not only did we experience a long check-in delay, but we were also severely misled by the room information. It was a truly terrible experience. A sincere reminder to anyone considering booking a family suite: be cautious and avoid this trap!
