AAnonymous UserThis trip was a last-minute decision. I booked the hotel after 1 AM and was pleasantly surprised after landing and checking in. As someone who pays close attention to hotel details, especially since Kunming is always just a layover during my trips to Yunnan, I have to say Papman is truly amazing. First, the service: I received a fresh flower basket upon check-in, and the hotel butler was incredibly attentive, responding promptly to all my requests. They even sent a freshly made cake for our wedding anniversary, which was delicious and high-quality. Second, the room amenities: The vanity had a full box of soft facial tissues, makeup remover wipes, mouthwash, and laundry detergent. There was a Dyson hairdryer, and the shower had a dry/wet separation with push-button controls. Third, the hotel's decor: Every step revealed a beautiful view, and there were multiple tea rooms available for guests to use for free. The rooftop on the third floor offered spectacular photo opportunities. Walking around the hotel at night, I was delighted to see the shadow of a deer cast by the镂空灯 (镂空灯 - 'cut-out' or 'pierced' lamps). Fourth, the food: We received complimentary afternoon tea with tasty desserts, and the late-night snack selection was extensive, including rice noodles, fried potatoes, 'bao jiang' tofu, and grilled skewers. The salted peanuts, especially the Yunnan 'xiaohua' black peanuts, were excellent; I immediately asked if I could buy a can to take home. All in all, I'll definitely choose this place again on my next visit to Kunming!

AAnonymous UserThe hotel's design is truly unique and thoughtful, and the service was proactively attentive and thorough. They even provided a complimentary extra bed for our party of three. The room layout was very practical, with the walk-in closet seamlessly connecting to the bathroom. I especially loved the Kohler brushed faucets – definitely adding them to my wishlist! The hotel is directly connected to Plaza 66, which was incredibly convenient for picking up anything we forgot. Next door is the Stone House in Camellia Park, perfect for an afternoon unwind. And right across the street is the Kunming Flying Tigers Memorial Museum (a poignant reminder that not all things last forever…).

GGuest UserThis hotel is located within a scenic area. Although parking isn't super convenient, there's a shuttle service available. The hotel's design and service are truly impressive. Upon arrival, we were greeted with fresh flower cakes, tea, and hot towels, and even got to choose our shower gel scent. The lobby has a great design and a lovely aroma. Every staff member was incredibly nice and enthusiastic without being intrusive. They even offer laundry service, delivered right to your door. The room decor has an English style; while some facilities are a bit dated, they are very well-maintained, clean, and hygienic, showing the hotel's dedication to its guests. Being inside the Sunac Resort, it's incredibly convenient for shopping, dining, and taking kids out, though the trade-off is it can be a bit noisy. Oh, and breakfast was delicious and plentiful, perfect for families with children. This is a very honest review, truly a well-managed guesthouse worth recommending.

LLijuan  ♪(^∇^*) This was my second stay, and the hotel is fantastic. The overall service is great. I really like the Wild View room type; the design is excellent, with everything you could possibly need. The cleanliness is also top-notch. The hotel is right by the lake, offering fantastic views. The forest by the lake is like a huge natural oxygen bar, and there's also a large lawn. The hotel restaurant is superb; breakfast is very rich and delicious, and the regular meals are good too. It's also a great choice for families, with craft activities for kids. My only regret is that I haven't had a chance to experience the spa on either visit, but I'll definitely try it next time.

On both occasions, the staff kindly upgraded our room due to availability, which was a really pleasant surprise. We ended up with larger rooms that were even more comfortable and enjoyable to stay in. The room was clean and very comfortable, making the overall stay very relaxing. I also appreciated that the room looked almost exactly like the photos shown on the Trip.com website—no unpleasant surprises at all. What stood out the most was the staff. They were consistently friendly, welcoming, and always willing to help, which made the experience even better. Would definitely return again!

The front desk gentleman was incredibly thoughtful; he upgraded us to a garden-view room, gave us a welcome gift, and enthusiastically recommended attractions based on our needs. Both the hotel's service and environment were excellent, and the buffet was fantastic. I highly recommend this hotel!

The front desk attendants went above and beyond to give me recommendations in the area for my specific wants/needs and also helped me with using the laundry services as it is not easy for people without a Chinese phone number to access. The food was decently priced and really quite good! The only thing I didn't love is that there weren't any outside areas that were non-smoking, even the outside dining area. I'm aware that it's very common in China to smoke in restaurants, so I can't be too upset about it. The hostel was really quite beautiful with the lovely plants and the bright paint colors.

JJustinnnnnnnFine for a few nights. Location was excellent, right by 南屏街 and 南强街 (good if you like food). Front desk was always nice and helpful. The indoor bar and bathroom areas were full of smoke, and you have to go through the bar to get to the rooms. The rooms themselves were the only place you didn’t find cigarette butts (en masse). Toilet paper was hit or miss. Showers and sinks all worked flawlessly. There were bar parties into the early a.m. but weren’t so easily heard from the rooms (mine was basically right next to the bar). Occasionally an argument or what sounded like a fight would break out in the bar area which was a little unsettling.

GGuest UserThis hotel is right above Nanqiang Night Market, making it super convenient for food and drinks. It's on the fourth floor, and to get there, you take the elevator past a lounge bar, which is a nice spot for a drink in the evening. The best part is, the hotel entrance is past the bar, so it's not noisy at all. The room was incredibly spacious, easily big enough to throw a party in! I'm quite sensitive to dust mites, but the bedding here was really clean. Even though the room faced the street, it was completely quiet once the windows were closed. Overall, it was fantastic! I'll definitely recommend it to friends for their next stay.
