Great vibes, full of energy - good for solo travelers Stayed at Cloudland International Youth Hostel in Kunming and loved the atmosphere. The good: The vibes here are amazing. Super energetic and social. There are activities almost every day so it’s easy to meet people. Staff are polite and helpful, always ready with recommendations. Location is really good — convenient to get to downtown and transport. For the price, it’s great value for money. Could improve: Hygiene can be improved a bit. Common areas and bathrooms are okay but not spotless. If you’re picky about cleanliness, bring slippers. Overall: Perfect if you want to make friends and have fun. Less ideal if you want a quiet, hotel-style stay. I’d come back for the people.

I stayed for 3 nights, and the hotel's location was excellent for getting around, very close to the old town, just a 10-15 minute walk. There are plenty of snack options nearby. The room was spotlessly clean, and the space felt quite generous, not at all cramped. All the toiletries were well-stocked. The drinks and snacks in the room were all complimentary, and every day they offered fresh local fruit and wine (we don't drink, so we declined). We also got a complimentary afternoon tea, and the Tiramisu was delicious, but I forgot to take a picture… Breakfast was also quite rich, with options like rice noodles, regular noodles, Er'si (a local specialty), wontons, and both Chinese and Western dishes. Overall, I was very satisfied and hope to visit again.

I dont think you can get a better deal for the price. Its clean, the bathroom is amazing, there are international power sockets and 3 washing machines. The only downside is that although the hotel is kind of in the centre, theres not much going on in the close proximity.

This hotel is perfectly located in the Old Town, making it super convenient to walk to all the attractions. There are plenty of restaurants nearby too. The hotel itself is clean and hygienic, with spacious rooms and excellent hot water pressure in the separate wet and dry bathroom. They even offer free self-service laundry facilities. The breakfast spread is great, and the rice noodles are especially delicious. I'll definitely stay here again next time I'm in Kunming!

Right next to a popular local market, and across from KFC, Nan Xiaozhu, and Grandma's Kitchen. The place is clean with no strange smells, and well-equipped. The front desk even has a fridge. My room had great natural light. The simple breakfast, including freshly cooked rice noodles, is served on the 8th floor in an open area with a lovely river view. Hot water in the room was consistently good, and the concierge group chat provided very prompt service. Excellent value for money!

I chose Cloud Inn for my trip to Kunming, and my overall stay experience exceeded my expectations! The location is great, within walking distance to the old street, making it very convenient for sightseeing and dining. The room was clean and tidy, the bedding was soft and ensured a good night's sleep, and the smart home system was a breeze to use. The front desk staff were enthusiastic and polite, and check-in was efficient. The hotel has a great ambiance, and the public areas are very photogenic. It offers excellent value for money, a quiet retreat in the bustling city, making my trip relaxing and comfortable. I highly recommend this place for anyone visiting Kunming, and I'll definitely choose to stay here again next time!

We had a wonderful stay at the RAW Hotel in Kunming. The first thing that impressed us was the hotel’s unique and beautifully designed interior. Every detail felt modern, stylish, and thoughtfully planned, while still being highly functional and comfortable. Our room was beautifully designed and featured a private cinema setup that our son absolutely loved. It made our evenings together extra special and added a memorable touch to our stay. The location is another major highlight. The famous Green Lake (Cuihu) Park is within easy walking distance, and even Kunming’s Old Town can be reached on foot if you enjoy exploring the city. The neighborhood itself offers several creative restaurants and cafés, making it a fun area to discover. At the same time, it is very easy to get a taxi to the railway station or any of the city’s main attractions, making it an ideal base for sightseeing. Overall, the RAW Hotel offers an excellent combination of outstanding design, comfort, functionality, and a fantastic location. We would happily stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a unique and stylish place to stay in Kunming.

Not far from the old town, and the environment is quiet. The room was clean and just right for a family of three, with one large bed and one small bed, which our child loved and slept comfortably in. The shower had great water pressure. The large-screen TV kept the kids entertained.

The gentle touches are hidden in the details, creating an amazing atmosphere! The room decor is very tasteful, and the view from the window is delightful. Staying here isn't just about resting; it's a true enjoyment. I loved it! A perfect escape from the hustle and bustle, yet still in the heart of things, with fantastic design. The service is attentive and meticulous, making every aspect of the stay incredibly comfortable. It was the best discovery of this trip.

The location is excellent. There are very few parking spaces right in front of the hotel, as they're shared with several restaurants. However, there's additional parking available across the street, and the hotel reimburses the parking fee. Initially, the staff assigned us a room at the very end of the hall, and another room that required a physical key, which was quite inconvenient. After communicating, they promptly switched our room. The room itself isn't very big, but its prime location makes up for it. The nearby market is huge and a great place to browse due to the wide variety of goods, though I didn't find the prices particularly cheap. The soundproofing in the room isn't great – it feels more like thin partitions than solid walls. Also, they use way too much air freshener; it was really overwhelming. I wouldn't recommend this hotel for those traveling with elderly family or children, or anyone who has high expectations for space and environment. However, if your expectations aren't too high, I'd actually recommend it, especially considering the relatively affordable summer rates.
