Traveling solo in Kunming, my stay at Old Big Foot International Youth Hostel completely exceeded my expectations – it's truly an ideal haven for backpackers! The location is absolutely unbeatable. Just a few steps out the door is Zhuanxin market, where I could get everything from tofu rice noodles and Dai-style snacks to fresh fruit in one go. It's also not far from the subway station, making it super easy to get to all the major attractions around the city. The hostel itself has a courtyard bursting with bougainvillea, and you'll find traveler messages and map check-in walls everywhere. The downstairs bar is perfect for sunbathing during the day, and for listening to music and chatting at night, sometimes with guests playing guitar – it's such a gentle and therapeutic atmosphere. The accommodation details are incredibly thoughtful. Every bed has a full blackout curtain, creating a private little space when drawn. The bedding was clean and odorless, there was 24-hour hot water, and the cleaning staff tidied regularly, so the bathrooms were completely free of any smells. They provide lockable lockers and self-service washer and dryer machines, so no worries about valuables or laundry. The front desk staff were incredibly patient, offering detailed recommendations for local tours and free luggage storage. Their 24-hour presence made me, as a solo female traveler, feel completely safe. It's really easy to meet like-minded travel companions here. There are plenty of activities like billiards, movie nights, and city walks, so you never have to worry about feeling lonely. The prices are affordable, the facilities are comprehensive, and the atmosphere is warm. It's perfect whether you're staying for a short visit or just passing through. I wholeheartedly recommend it to solo travelers who enjoy a lively, authentic vibe!

This hotel is right next to Kunming Old Street and has a cozy, upscale feel. You can walk to the 'Wine Cup Building' in Kunming Old Street within 10 minutes. Other famous attractions in Kunming city, such as Cuihu Lake, the Military Academy, and Southwest Associated University, are all nearby and easily accessible by electric scooter. The hotel facilities are new, and the smart features are a nice touch. There's also parking available, and the reception offers coffee, tea, and ice cream, which is very thoughtful. The breakfast is quite varied as well. Just 100 meters from the hotel is the underground parking garage at Victory Square. I rented a car from Shenzhou and on the first day, I visited Shilin, Yunnan Museum, and Dianchi Lake, then returned the car directly here in the evening, which was incredibly convenient. For the second day's city tour, I didn't need the car anymore. The hotel is also very close to Kunming Station, about a 20-30 minute drive. Overall, everything was very pleasing and I was very satisfied; I would definitely choose this hotel again for my next visit.

Absolutely perfect! The comfort level is superb, and the price is incredibly good. The experience was fantastic, truly a home away from home. The guy at the front desk was super charming – he could pour drinks, make coffee, and handle check-ins, mastering all the skills! Every evening, they'd bring two complimentary craft beers, which were even better than many pubs. Breakfast offers both Chinese and Western options, both excellent. Crucially, the bedding in the room was really comfortable. The hotel's facilities are great, and the service is super attentive. This hotel adds so much value and definitely enhanced my impression of Kunming!

Upon arrival, we were pleasantly surprised to find our room upgraded to a family room since we had a child with us. It was lovely, and both my child and I adored it! The laundry service was exceptional; they washed, folded, and returned our clothes to the room promptly. When my child accidentally spilled water, an attendant immediately came to clean it up. Breakfast was also incredibly delicious. This hotel is truly thoughtful! The evening front desk staff and Delu (presumably a staff member or service) introduced us to their late-night congee service, which was both comforting and heartwarming. The air conditioning was powerful, the elevators were fast, the scent was pleasant, laundry and drying facilities were convenient, the TV was high-definition, and parking was super easy. We had a comfortable and worry-free stay!

The environment here is great, truly feels like a home away from home. I loved the little touches, like the microwave and the neutral pen. The room design is simple yet chic, and the bedding is so soft, I fell asleep instantly. It's conveniently located with beautiful scenery. The front desk lady's smile and the warm tea made me feel so welcome. It was an unforgettable travel experience!

Extremely satisfied with the environment! As a long-term self-driving traveler, the environment and hygiene of this hotel are comparable to luxurious Conrad hotels. The decor is incredibly tasteful and very photogenic. The staff service is excellent, with a dedicated service chat group. The hotel restaurant also has a great vibe. It's definitely the top choice in Kunming for birthdays or other special occasions. The robot delivery service is very convenient. Parking right at the entrance is handy, and the surrounding commercial area is well-equipped. Apart from slight traffic jams during peak hours, everything else is perfect! Plus, it's pet-friendly! I will definitely be revisiting this hotel!

Come to Kunming with friends to play, and choose this hotel after comprehensive consideration. It is very close to Cuihu Park and it will be there after a short walk. It is also close to the food street, there are a lot of food, very convenient. The overall design of the hotel is very stylish, the atmosphere is full, and the details are exquisite and careful. The public area is very good value, and it is amazing as soon as you come in. The environment is clean and comfortable, the night is very quiet, and the friend is very comfortable. The experience is beyond expectations!

The room was very clean and exactly as pictured. The soaking tub was huge, easily fitting four people, but it takes a while to fill up. If you want a bath, definitely start filling it an hour beforehand. The location is super convenient; there are shared electric scooters right downstairs, which my kids loved, making it easy to get anywhere. The two ladies at the front desk were so thoughtful and attentive. They proactively offered welcome fruit, asked if we needed more drinking water, and the morning coffee ☕ was great – it really helped me survive after staying up late the night before 😂. The night shift lady even thoughtfully helped arrange the flowers I bought from Dounan Flower Market in a clean vase in the room, which really brightened my mood ☺. The recommended restaurants were also excellent; we tried them out, but sadly, our stomachs weren't big enough to eat too much. Just a small suggestion: it would be even better if there was an outdoor area to hang clothes to dry.

The room is quite spacious and comfortable. I was satisfied with the cleanliness. They offer a washing machine and dryer, though the dryer isn't very powerful, so it takes a while. Breakfast isn't included, but if you buy it at the front desk, it's cheaper than online. The breakfast itself is decent with a good variety, though the milk tasted a bit watered down. The hotel's location is excellent; it's right outside a Line 3 subway station, and Cuihu Lake is only about a 30-minute walk away. There's a Walmart next to the hotel and plenty of snack bars in the area.
