The best aspect of this stay was by far the owner. He was incredibly, incredibly helpful and friendly — from the moment I walked in the door he offered me a cup of tea, then provided tea and bread the next morning for breakfast, offered advice on what to see in the area, arranged a car to take me to Dalzong Lake, and finally even found me a spot on a local minibus going to my next destination. I couldn’t have done half the things I did during my stay in Xiahe without his advice and efforts on my behalf, so that alone made staying here fully worthwhile!
It’s worth mentioning that the guesthouse’s architecture is also absolutely beautiful, and everything looks quite new. It’s located down a quiet side alley off of one of the main commercial streets in town, which seems like the ideal placement.
On the accommodations: I stayed in one of the two tents erected on the second floor of the guesthouse. This was largely quite a good experience! The bed was very comfortable (with a heated pad), water and towels provided, etc. The tents are not in a closed-off area, but rather on the second floor/balcony area that also is used for sitting, serving tea, etc., so privacy is somewhat limited, but the whole guesthouse is relatively quiet anyway so it doesn’t feel like a public space. My only suggestions for improvement would be related to the bathroom: during my stay, the shared bathroom for the tents was a sort of temporary-style booth installed in the corner of the room with a toilet, sink, and showerhead. The bathroom was very clean and everything inside worked well, but its sliding door separated from the wall enough that there was always a substantial enough space on one side or the other that could be seen through (the door also didn’t lock and slid back and forth easily). The booth was also small enough that, realistically, I think it would be a bit of a challenge to actually use it to shower. If possible it might be worth looking into some simple fixes to improve these situations, but otherwise I have no complaints!

One of the biggest highlights of this hotel is the warmth of all the staff. They were always smiling and proactive in offering help, which made me, a solo traveler, feel incredibly welcome. The room's cleanliness was also very satisfying; everything from the bedding to the bathroom was spotless and fresh. The free parking lot had plenty of spaces, which was very convenient. In the evening, I could enjoy a grand yet peaceful desert sunset right from my tent. At night, without any light pollution, the starry sky was exceptionally clear and bright, seemingly within reach. This stay, from the facilities to the service, and from the views to the atmosphere, was absolutely perfect.

The hostel is good cared and clean. I think I saw a housekeeper every time when I went out from my room and she was always cleaning smth. That attitude already says a lot about the place. There is a nice not big common area with TV and we even watched a bit of Titanic, water dispenser with available cold and hot water. The staff is speaking English and they organise different tours around the area. It’s very handy. We took 2 tours with them and enjoyed a lot. One to PingShanHu canyon and another to Colourful Danxia. We also met many good-hearted foreign and local travellers there and made friends with some. Speaking about the room the condition was good enough. We shared one room with my friend. It’s a great value for money. Thank you for the incredible stay!

The room was very clean and it had plenty of space. The location was good. My only remark is that the check-in was at 2pm but the room still wasn't ready by 3.

The environment is very new! I'm quite particular about bathroom cleanliness, and this place really delivered. The cleaning staff were very diligent, keeping the toilet and shower sparkling clean and well-maintained overall. There's a public microwave, water dispenser, and refrigerator, which is convenient for buying drinks. They also have an automatic washing machine that you can use with coins, and you can exchange coins at the front desk. The guests generally seem to be well-behaved; everyone in the lobby was quiet and didn't play loud music. Access to the guest room area requires a key card, and guests in the rooms were also considerate, which I appreciate. The bedding was already made up, so I didn't have to do it myself, and it was quite comfortable to sleep in. Overall, I had a great impression; the staff were patient. It's a clean and comfortable option that I'd recommend to everyone.
Conveniently located within walking distance to the labrang monastery (400m) west entrance. They could arrange for transportation around xiahe.
Room was clean and spacious , just a little cold as we arrived in end may which makes it difficult to take a shower. Generally, we enjoyed our stay there. As we were staying there for 3 days, we later had to venture out further to try other food varieties.
Would prefer if they could arrange for more affordable prices for non native speaking travellers when securing private car hires.

Lanzhou Junyi Hotel is also great! The decoration is elegant and the atmosphere is warm. The rooms are exquisitely furnished, the facilities are all available, and the living is comfortable. The service staff is professional and friendly, caring from check-in to check-out. The hotel's dining is authentic and delicious, showing the local flavor. The location is excellent, there are many surrounding attractions, and it is convenient to play. It is highly recommended!

This Dunhuang trip specially chose this desert tent camp, the overall stay experience is very satisfactory, completely exceeding expectations! Compared with the surrounding camps, the biggest advantage here is that there are few people and quiet, not crowded and noisy, and the immersive desert experience is full. The service is particularly intimate, the staff is gentle, the response is timely, and the car is also intimately assisted in docking and picking up vehicles and carrying luggage, saving worry and effort throughout the whole process, and there is no invisible consumption. The facilities are very complete, the interior of the tent is clean and tidy, the dust and moisture prevention effect is very good, it will not be full of sand, the basic living is fully equipped, and the accommodation comfort is far more than expected for desert camping. The environment experience is excellent, the camp has a wide view and unobstructed, you can overlook the entire vast sand sea during the day, the sunset scenery in the evening is beautiful, there is no light pollution at night, the sky is full of stars, clear galaxies, and the original picture of the photo is very direct. The park has its own set of desert play projects, the hotel special car pick-up point, one-stop play is particularly convenient, the comprehensive cost performance is at the top level in the Dunhuang desert camp, it is worth staying!

Everything was perfect, there were good food places just a few steps away. A bus stop is very close, directly connecting to the main attractions and the train station. The room was clean and comfortable. The staff was very friendly.
Only disadvantage was that I wasn’t able to open the water bottles they provided. In the end, I hurt my hand while trying to open. I never had this issue before.
That being said, they also have a water dispenser downstairs so there are other options to get drinking water.

Great location, just a 5-minute drive from West Station, and they offer a shuttle service to and from the station. The room was spacious and clean, the bedding was comfortable, and the shower in the bathroom had excellent water pressure. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful, even assisting with luggage. The pork noodles for breakfast were absolutely delicious! It's also close to city attractions. Highly recommend! ^

GGuest UserThe boss was very enthusiastic. I contacted him one day in advance and waited for us at the station early the next morning. The accommodation was close to the East Gate. We said we were going to Crescent Lake and Mingsha Mountain. The boss took the initiative to drive us to the Middle Gate, saying that we could save 20 yuan on the shuttle bus fare. The next day, we signed up for a tour group to go out and play. The boss also sent us to the boarding point early in the morning. The boss was afraid that it would be inconvenient to go back after the Crescent Lake Music Festival, so he also came to pick us up, making our travel very convenient. The accommodation environment is also very good, and the steamed bun for breakfast is particularly large.

HHuangqijinqiangyuI brought my parents, who are in their 70s, to visit Maiji Mountain. The hostess was incredibly warm and attentive. After arriving at the North Gate 1 of the Maiji Mountain scenic area, we just made a call and she came directly to pick us up and take us to the guesthouse. The room was spotless, not a speck of dust anywhere. For dinner, we had mushroom stew with free-range chicken and stir-fried wild vegetables – truly delicious! 😋 The next day, she dropped us off at the entrance of the Maiji Mountain scenic spot at 7:30 AM, so we were the first ones to go in at 8:30 AM. After our visit, we saw a super long queue had already formed outside. Afterward, we took a taxi to explore Xianren Cliff and Jingtu Temple. Finally, the hostess even drove our luggage to the Line 34 bus stop to drop us off. It was a truly perfect day, so relaxed and easy. We avoided the crowds in the morning and didn't have to wait in long lines, making for a 10/10 visiting experience. Huge thanks to the hostess for the pick-up and drop-off service!
AAnonymous UserIf life is a never-ending journey, then the camping trip at the Desert Star Hotel is undoubtedly a highlight of my journey.
When I arrived at the campsite, the first thing that attracted me was the unique tent house. Unlike regular tents, the top of the tent is made of special transparent materials, like a huge viewing platform, which builds a bridge of communication between me and the vast galaxy. As night fell, I couldn't wait to lie on the soft bed, and when I looked up, the bright starry sky was presented to me without reservation. The stars twinkled, like gems inlaid on the black sky, beautiful as a dream. At that moment, the world seemed to press the mute button, and the impetuousness and noise in my heart were instantly soothed. The unique beauty of this quietness made me intoxicated.
It is worth mentioning that the hotel staff is very considerate. After placing the order, the customer service guy at the front desk added our contact information and gave us some local travel tips, which saved us a lot of time. From the warm reception at check-in, to the careful guidance during the activities, to the warm greetings at night, every detail made people feel cared for. They not only provided me with thoughtful service, but also made me feel the simplicity and enthusiasm of the desert people.
This desert camping trip not only allowed me to appreciate the magnificent scenery of the desert, but also experienced exciting and interesting activities, which became an eternal and beautiful memory in my heart.
BBelle de Borjathis is a clean, accesible and comfortable hostel to stay in. I had a very good sleep when i stayed at their single room. The staff values the comfort of the clients. I will definitely recommend this place.
I just hope that they will put a seating toilet for the foreigners nd it will be more than perfect.

LLvtaibakegaoshiThe hotel has an elegant environment. As soon as you enter the lobby, you will feel at home. The front desk is very enthusiastic, the rooms are well-structured, the beds are very soft, and the parking lot is also relatively convenient. I recommend everyone to stay at Renhe Hotel!
HHeizeebilongThe room was very clean and quiet, with easy parking. It's just a few steps from the entrance to Langmusi Temple and right next to the snack street, which is very convenient. The owner was warm and attentive. He even offered to move the elderly couple's room to the first floor, which was very heartwarming.
__WeChat256343****This guesthouse is a hidden gem!
1. The location is super convenient, right at the west gate of Mingsha Mountain, just a 1-minute walk away. It was perfect for playing in the sand and attending the concert.
2. The desert-themed decor and furnishings are incredibly photogenic, and the hotel facilities are brand new, including smart toilets. They even have cute little kittens around! ☺
3. It has a starry sky theme, and the owner gives amazing stargazing classes. The rooftop terrace is perfect for stargazing, and the owner even has a professional telescope. It's fantastic!
4. The breakfast is homemade by the owner. While simple, it's clean, hygienic, and tastes great.
5. The best part is the owner's service. The whole family is incredibly nice and hospitable. They helped us with our luggage, answered all of my child's astronomy questions, provided airport transfers, and even recommended local itineraries. It's just wonderful!

FFionafanttThe room, as always, maintained Hanting's consistent style: clean, tidy, and well-laid out. The breakfast offered classic Lanzhou flavors, with both the beef noodles and egg milk *laozao* (fermented glutinous rice dessert) being delicious. The egg milk *laozao* was especially good, the best I've had these past few days, even better than Lao Ma's! I highly recommend future guests try it. Water, coffee, and tea are self-service in the lobby, which is very guest-friendly. The location is unbeatable; the hotel is right at the entrance to the food street, making it convenient for dining and catching a taxi, and popular attractions are within walking distance. Extremely satisfied! 👍
GGuest UserWe came to Dunhuang with our children, looking forward to it for a long time. The weather was really hot, but it didn't affect our determination to go out at all. We booked this B&B and it was very comfortable. The price was really cheap and the cost performance was really high. This price for the summer vacation was really conscientious. The B&B had thoughtful service. You can consult any questions and they will answer them seriously. The B&B is very close to the scenic spots and it is very convenient to travel.
