The room is spacious, and Harun always does an excellent job cleaning it; his service is enthusiastic. Facilities: Good. Service: Very good, though it's a shame they don't allow a slightly later checkout 😂. They require checkout at 11 AM, and by 12 PM, they were already calling us to hurry up and leave. They're quite strict about not allowing late check-outs, probably because rooms are in high demand during peak season. Environment: Very quiet, you can't hear any motorbike noise, and it's convenient for getting to all the attractions.

I was upgraded to a Deluxe room but it was at the extreme corner next to the service staircase. Grateful for the upgraded but the room conditions were not up to par . Hair in shower room , the shower holder fell when I was taking it out and it dropped on my toe . Hence the blue black toe shown ( hehe ) . I could not sleep the whole night as the air con was very very noisy even when I lower the adjustment. The day curtain was torn . I sound it out to reception the next morning to see whether they can change my room as I was staying for another 2 nights . They did and I reckoned it was another up grade as now the room has a standing shower room . In the other previous room , you have to stand in the bath tub to shower and for a man of 65 , it is a bit tricky . The hotel really needs an up grade too . It is in a good location and CAT bus is nearby . The CAT shuttle is a complimentary bus that moves around the town area . The saving grace for my trip was that the staff was up to par and reacted quickly . Well done on this . Now , I wait for my toe to heal .

The hotel staff were all very polite, the bed was comfortable, and the shower had great water pressure. They even noted my request and gave me a quiet room with no noise. The breakfast was decent, and the coffee was strong and really woke me up. There's a mall right to the left when you exit, and a supermarket downstairs. Across the street, there's a 7-Eleven, and GAMA also has a supermarket downstairs. It's a moderate distance to tourist attractions, about a 20-minute walk, and about a 30-minute drive to the airport if there's no traffic. Little India is nearby, so there are quite a few Indian people around. I'm not used to it since I don't know much about the culture, but we mostly kept to ourselves. However, after each room cleaning, we'd find a few long hairs that weren't ours, which I hope they can improve upon.

The hotel exceeds my expectations. The room has sleek interior design and is spacious and clean. The amenities look new and well maintained by repurposing rooms in the 15th floor. The lobby and the complimentary coffee is great too! Location wise, not much going around the hotel but grab is easy and quite near to Georgetown too. It’s just that my room has a weird smell near the bathroom (probably from sanitation/sewage) because it smells the same in the toilet near the swimming pool. Not a dealbreaker because the smell is quite contained and you won’t smell it from your bed or anything but it may be the first smell that welcomes you as you enter the room as the bathroom/toilet is area is just beside the door.

Although the hotel opened in 2014, the rooms' facilities and cleanliness are still very well-maintained. The shower has great water pressure, making for a very comfortable bathing experience. The pillows in the room were a bit uncomfortable for me – too high and too springy. The bed was large and the mattress was very comfortable. My room didn't come with bathrobes. It was quiet at night, and the air conditioning in the room was strong. Directly opposite the hotel is a large shopping mall, and a big supermarket is not far away. It's also within walking distance to various attractions. The infinity pool is excellent, with a good long lane for swimming. Breakfast is served from 6:30 AM to 10 AM, and the food selection is substantial and fitting for a 4-star hotel, offering everything you'd expect.

Excellent location to delicious local food - char kway teow, hokien prawn noodles. Fried beehoon with fried fish meat (available only in the morning). Don't forget to order ambra drink. Love it! The first shop on the left when you get out of the hotel, we ate there 3 times. Yummy Every night the local food stalls along the street will be busy with lots of people. The charcoal fried char kway teow's queue can be up to 1.5 hours. They start at two pm so go early. Close on Wednesday. Across the street from the hotel, you can buy Penang Tau sar pniah.. there is a nonya restaurant but we didn't try.

• The Hotel: The hotel is easy access from main road. The building is conjoined with michelin restaurant (same entrance in lobby). • The room: I arrived an hour early and the staff offer earlier checkin since my room was ready, how amazing! The room was enough for 1 person and there's a designated space for luggage so it didn't block the way / on the floor. Clean and well maintained. Basic amenities were met. Hot/Cold water works (just need time to warm up). Window can be open for air movement. I didn't have breakfast service because there're SO many restaurants nearby and walking distance. • The nearby attractions: The reason I chose this hotel cause it's all walking distance from places I want to go. The famous Penang Laksa is just 5 minutes walk from the hotel! And 2 minutes walk from the hotel is Kimberley Street (famous for night market street foods). There are 1 convenience store 24/7 within 4 mins of the hotel walk. The iconic P66 Store is walking distance (7 minutes), Makan Pagi is just 10 minutes walk, and even: the famous Armenian Street is just 1km / 10 minutes slow walk away from the hotel. The location is just strategic for my itineraries. Overall, I enjoy my stay and if I visit Penang again, definitely will stay here. It's safe for female solo travelers. Notes: 1) Like others pointed out, there's no concierge and trolley service so you gotta drag your suitcases. Entrance access is wheelchair friendly too! 2) There're 100 MYR deposit, to be returned when you checkout (don't lose the paper receipt!)

This hotel is considered an older, established 4-star property in the old town, and some of the facilities are a bit dated; I hope they can be updated. The hotel breakfast is excellent, with a good variety and local specialties, though I wish they'd improve the drink quality. My room was old, the AC was leaking, and the ceiling was visibly peeling. Lin at the front desk, who speaks Chinese, provided exceptional service, while others were just average. We arrived on New Year's Eve without a reservation for the buffet dinner, but Lin communicated with the restaurant and managed to get us an extra table so we could enjoy our New Year's Eve meal. However, the 188 MYR price didn't match the quality; if this were in China, it probably wouldn't last a month. The salmon was cut into small strips, and the plate was empty quickly—looks like it's the same everywhere, haha. Ninety percent of the diners were local Chinese. The hotel is located in the old town, about a 15-minute walk to the mural street, and not far from Little India and the Peranakan Museum. There's a hawker center downstairs, but it was closed for the New Year. Overall, the hotel is good, and the location is quiet yet central.

For solo travelers like me, this place is incredibly convenient because of its excellent transportation links. All the main attractions – whether it's the beach, historic houses, restaurants, or various downtown spots – are within walking distance. I stayed here for a week and didn't need a single taxi. In the evenings, I could just stroll out to a bar or find some great food. I even made quite a few friends! The hotel's restaurant is also very good. Overall, the value for money here is exceptional.

Hotel is in a good location. Feels a little bit aged but it’s ok for a few nights. My only complain is the Touch N Go machines which are too high when I drove my car in, it’s difficult to tap the card for entry. Other than that, would be good to have parking at lower floors than 6a and 7 which means we have to drive up 6-7 floors. Probably good to tell us that we can also park on the 3rd floor (sign board says 6a and 7). Besides that, I would say it was a pleasant stay.

MMeiziMaggieThe hotel is right on Batu Ferringhi beach, offering unparalleled views of the Andaman Sea as soon as you open the window 🌅. The resort grounds are lined with palm trees and tropical gardens – a perfect place to feel relaxed while enjoying the sea breeze and watching the sunset. This time, I booked an Executive Suite: double the space, double the view! * **Spacious:** At 66 square meters, with separate living room and bedroom, there's plenty of room for kids and luggage without feeling cramped. * **Dual Bathrooms:** Two bathrooms mean no more fighting over the toilet for the whole family, making getting ready to go out incredibly efficient! * **270-Degree Panoramic View:** Large floor-to-ceiling windows + a private balcony provide essentially a panoramic view. Whether lying down or standing, you can take in the breathtaking Andaman Sea and tropical garden scenery. **Tons of Kid-Friendly Activities – No Bored Kids Here!** * Outdoors, there's a Splash Zone with slides and a kids' pool where the little ones can spend the whole afternoon. * The indoor Adventure Zone offers large slides and play facilities (air-conditioned, so no worries about the sun!). * The Cool Zone Kids' Club also organizes activities like crafts and kite painting, giving adults a chance to sneak away for a drink. * The hotel has pool games, beach volleyball, and more, keeping the whole family active. **📍 Convenient Location** Turn right when you leave the hotel, and you're at the Batu Ferringhi Night Market, perfect for snacks and souvenirs. Across the street, there's a McDonald's, hawker stalls, and a supermarket. **🎉 Hidden Gems I Discovered Only After Visiting:** Shangri-La Golden Sands Resort is connected to the neighboring Shangri-La Rasa Sayang Resort! * **Interconnected Facilities:** You can freely move between the two hotels and share their leisure facilities. * In just 5 minutes, you can switch from the lively atmosphere of Golden Sands to the upscale colonial charm of Rasa Sayang. * Most importantly, the room rates at Golden Sands are often half that of the Rasa Sayang next door! It's like enjoying the top-tier amenities of both hotels for half the price!

GGuest UserThe room was quite satisfying. The family suite consisted of two rooms, both offering great views and large windows. The rooms were also very tidy. The hotel's breakfast was rich and varied, and the staff were all very friendly, proactively smiling and greeting guests. A particular highlight was the swimming pool's proximity to the beach, which, despite the sand not being super fine, was very convenient in terms of location. The only minor drawbacks were some details that could be improved in this older hotel, such as replacing the towels with fluffier ones, and providing a check-in guide that clearly marks nearby supermarkets, shops, and attractions.

BBaobaoBbThe lobby was comfortable and spacious, with a lovely pool view. Check-in was pleasant, and the welcome cookie was delicious. The lemon water provided in the lobby was also a thoughtful touch. The room was comfortable, with a good bed and pillows. There was a proper working desk, which was useful. The seating area was nice, although it would have been better if there was a small table in front of the sofa. I stayed for two nights. Unfortunately, the biggest disappointment was the room door lock. It was faulty and very difficult to open. Even after the staff came to assist, the issue was still not properly fixed. Every time entering the room, it took two people pushing the door together to open it. My hand even became red and swollen from trying to open it. I wanted to request a room change, but due to my tight schedule and not feeling very well, I decided to let it go. Overall, the facilities were good and the hospitality touches were appreciated, but the door issue really affected the stay.

GGuest UserThe location is quite remote, but there's plenty of parking, so it's only suitable if you're traveling by car. It's a 5-minute drive from Escape Theme Park and a 15-minute drive to the durian farms in the mountains. The beach is about a 7-8 minute walk away. The hotel can arrange a free golf buggy to take you to the beach, but you'll have to walk back to the hotel. It offers good value for money during peak season, but for off-peak, you might as well stay at one of the five-star resorts.

AazrifOur recent stay at Palm Suite was a pleasant and straightforward experience. The standout feature was definitely the front desk service—the staff were consistently friendly, efficient, and helpful throughout our check-in and stay, which always makes a trip nicer. The apartment itself was spacious and very comfortable for the price. It had everything we needed for a relaxing visit and felt like a good home base. The location is a major plus. Being close to a McDonald’s was unexpectedly handy for a quick, reliable breakfast or a late-night snack. The surrounding area in Tanjong Tokong has plenty of other dining and convenience options within easy reach. A small point to note is that the property does not have covered roof parking. While we found parking, it's something to be aware of if you're traveling with a car, especially during rainy weather. N no lift to 2nd floor In the bathroom, we noticed the jacuzzi jet function in the bathtub could use an upgrade, as it wasn't operating at full power. That said, the bath itself was perfectly fine for a relaxing soak, so it wasn't a big issue for us—just something the management might look into for future updates. Overall, I’m not complaining! Palm Suite delivers solid value: it's comfortable, well-located, and backed by great service. It’s an excellent choice for a practical, no-fuss stay in Penang. Ideal for: Travelers looking for a comfortable, convenient, and value-for-money apartment stay with great access to local amenities.

CCk ChuahThis hotel is perfectly situated between the city and the famous beach. Plenty of food options and shopping malls are right around the corner. Downstairs and in the immediate vicinity, there's a fantastic food court, numerous malls, cafes, and restaurants, offering a huge variety of choices. The food court even features vendors selling authentic local delicacies. I highly recommend this hotel, the scenery is beautiful. Enjoy the sunrise with a cup of coffee and savor life.

SSkinDudeWe got the last available room in this massive tower block so not surprised that it had no view at all. Apart from that the room was huge and slept 6 in double beds with a good kitchen but the bathroom was tiny and you could hardly turn round in it! All in all for the price it was comfy and spacious and very good value. The location, although on the sea front, is not brilliant for sight seeing. Decent bar underneath it though
