5-Star Hotels in Taiwan, China

For this trip to Taiwan, I stayed at the Grand Hotel Taipei for three nights. After a comprehensive renovation in recent years, it's completely transformed. The bathrooms now feature a bathtub and a separate shower, and the toilets have automatic bidet functions. The bedding is also brand new. The only minor change is that the renovation materials used are a bit darker in color. At night, the entire hotel is brilliantly illuminated and very eye-catching. I want to highlight that the hotel offers a shuttle bus every ten minutes to Yuanshan MRT Station – definitely don't miss out on this perk for guests! Taipei's MRT system is very extensive, making it super convenient to get around.

This hotel is located in Kenting's Little Bay, just across the road from Little Bay Beach, and the bus stop is also very close by. The hotel's breakfast spread is fantastic, and the seafood buffet for dinner offers great value for money. The best part is that the restaurant has a window overlooking the ocean (Picture 1), adding a wonderful ambiance to dinner. The hotel's garden is a lovely spot to relax (Picture 2). The swimming pool in the garden was under maintenance, so to compensate guests, the hotel organized some fun activities, like a night crab-hunting trip on the beach. We scared all the crabs away, and only a bunch of hermit crabs (Picture 3) stayed to play with us! ☺️

The hotel itself was truly wonderful, offering a very comfortable and enjoyable stay. The amenities provided were excellent and met all expectations for a pleasant visit. However, I must politely suggest that there is room for improvement at the reception. While the staff were not impolite, their attentiveness and efficiency could be enhanced. A smoother reception experience would elevate the overall guest satisfaction.

This hotel is truly fantastic! All the staff are incredibly friendly and attentive, and the place is spotless. It's conveniently located for getting around, and the rooms are spacious. Our stay was absolutely wonderful! This was our first trip to Taipei from Australia, and while the hotel is a historic five-star, the bathroom definitely seemed newly renovated. The breakfast was also outstanding, easily the best we've had at any five-star hotel we've stayed in. I also want to give a special shout-out to the housekeeping staff. In my rush to pack, I completely forgot where I'd put my cash and couldn't find it when I got home. After I called, they were incredibly diligent in helping me search my room and called me back promptly. Turns out I had just forgotten it in a corner! I was so anxious at the time, but they were genuinely amazing! I was so touched! This is a trustworthy hotel worth staying at; from check-in to check-out, we felt nothing but joy and peace of mind. And it's not just because of the help we received, but also because every little detail showed such thoughtful care!

Location is 5/5 for the walkability to Banqiao MRT station which connects you to the local MRT as well the regional train lines. The room and bathroom was extremely spacious with a bathtub. Although the shower stall tends to leak out water due to the gap in the glass panels of the door so we had to lay towels on the bathroom floor to prevent falling after the shower. Service rendered was warm and friendly on our arrival, especially notable was Alan at the concierge, whose suggestions on dinner spots were helpful when we first arrived tired and hungry. The roof top swimming pool had a fantastic view and was clean. We swam a little only as the weather was rainy and the pool water very cold. We had a good stay and if coming back to Banqiao, will stay again.

Overall, my stay at the hotel was excellent. The environment was clean and tidy, and the room was spacious and comfortable with soft bedding. The facilities were also quite comprehensive. The front desk staff were very welcoming, and check-in was quick. The surrounding area has convenient transportation, making it easy to dine and shop. I would consider staying here again.

Very good service from counter and concierge staff! Room was HUGE with amenities and automated water bidet. Vanity mirror was huge and has lighting with it. Love that the shower and toilet area are separated. Would definitely come back again! Thank you!

Overall, my experience at this hotel was fantastic. The service truly stood out; from check-in to check-out, the staff were incredibly warm, professional, and quick to respond to any requests, which made me feel well taken care of. The location is also excellent – very convenient for transportation, with plenty of dining and shopping options nearby, making it ideal for travelers. All in all, it offers great value for money, and I would definitely choose to stay here again.

Fantastic location right next to Kenting Street! The swimming pool is amazing – both adults and kids had a blast. I've stayed here 4 times since it opened, and it's a great hotel. The breakfast is also delicious and made to order, which gives it a really nice touch.

Very clean and nice hotel everything is very organised , good location and friendly frontdesk .ALL the staff are simply exceptional, especially the frontdesk- Lia Wu , Emily Chen and Wendy Liu. , they showed their professionalism by introducing this new hotel and the surroundings to us . They are so helpful to assist us with our luggages and personally deliver to our room. Every interaction with them felt warm and welcoming . The breakfast is good with many choices , restaurant manager and staff are friendly too. Overall the staff’s commitment to guest satisfaction made a truly memorable stay.
