5-Star Hotels in Tibet, China

The hotel's hardware is okay, but the software isn't. The service needs improvement. The hair dryer in the room broke, and I called the front desk to get a new one. I waited over 10 minutes before someone came to check. They just tried to see if it was actually broken, and once they confirmed it was, they offered to bring a new one. I waited another 10 minutes. It was my first time washing my hair since arriving in Tibet, and I was so terrified of altitude sickness. Couldn't they have brought a new one the first time they sent someone? My friend had altitude sickness and wanted to have his blood oxygen meter checked, but the front desk said another guest had borrowed it and hadn't returned it, so they couldn't take the test... I was speechless. They're using the Hilton name to offer service that's inferior even to boutique hotels. Consider it a lesson learned...

The afternoon tea in the hotel lobby bar must be experienced, and the breakfast is very rich. The service is the worst of all hotels where we have stayed worldwide. It is worse than even any 1-star rated hotel in China. Right from the entry, the check in is chaotic. No one attends to luggage. It takes 2 hours to do formalities and return passports. In Room dining, the order is a huge challenge. They take 2 hours to take order and deliver the food after 1 hour, when they serve only the food in a plate. No seperate dishes or any cutliaries (spoon or fork or chopsticks ... nothing provided). When you point these out, they say sorry and take another 1 hour to bring plates, chop sticks etc. BY now 5 hours passed and food is so cold and not eatable. This is a regular scenario ... repeated 3 times, I.e. everything we placed an order. It's a huge challenge. On amenities, the beds are extremely uncomfortable. If you just take a turn while sleeping, the other person is sure to wake up. They call king size bed .. it's two seperate beds kept side by side with cheap quality spring mattress. On breakfast, it's very limited and every day same menu. No varieties, the food taste is horrible as well. Extremely bad experience.for the price that is paid. The feeling has been a complete waste of money, sleepless nights, staying hugry and waiting for food post order for 5.hours every time we ordered room dining. The same situation in restaurent as well.

Hampton by Hilton Shannan is a new hotel that only opened at the end of 2024. And one thing worthy of praise is that the lobby manager also helped me book 5 rooms at Hilton Huiting Hotel Lhasa. The price is 80 yuan cheaper than the above. This service can be praised. I will stay here next time I travel to Shannan.

The room layout is reasonable, the color matching is good, and it is full of ethnic characteristics. The paintings and photos on the wall are artistic. The most delightful thing is that the balcony is large enough to overlook the hotel garden, the Yarlung Zangbo River and the mountains beside the river. The hotel waiters are very considerate and enthusiastic. The two handsome ******* guys we met, one is called Tashi Tsering, and the other one I forgot his name, kept asking us questions and providing help at any time.

The hotel has ******* characteristics. Afternoon tea and small gifts are provided upon check-in. The service is also very good. The waiters AD and BW are very enthusiastic. Luggage is delivered to the room and oxygen tanks are provided for free. The breakfast is rich and of high quality, no different from Shangri-La hotels in first- and second-tier cities. It is basically dark here at 9 o'clock. It would be better if dinner could be delayed to 22:30. I will stay here again next time I come to Lhasa.

I stayed at the Chomulangzong in Shigatse again after a few years, and the feeling I had was still good. First of all, its location is very convenient. The hotel provides pick-up and drop-off services when going to Tashilhunpo Monastery during the day. Drinks were also provided when checking in. I washed my clothes in the hotel, which was very convenient. It was great. The staff was very helpful. I will stay here again next time.

The room was clean, well-equipped, and featured smart controls. Even the disposable toiletries were of excellent quality. I was particularly impressed by the two Zhuomas at the coffee shop; they were incredibly helpful. Especially Suoqu Zhuoma: I wasn't familiar with the laundry machines, and she enthusiastically offered her personal assistance with them, notifying me as soon as my clothes were clean. She even prepared a delicious coffee for me and brought some tasty snacks. The front desk also thoughtfully arranged some morning pastries, as I didn't have time for a full breakfast due to my flight schedule. It was truly a fantastic experience. If I return to Lhasa, I will definitely choose this hotel again; it genuinely made me feel right at home.
