The hotel is very quiet with beautiful scenery, but dining options nearby are inconvenient, and there are limited choices for dining within the hotel. It's best to rent a car if you're staying here. Although the hotel is a bit old, it's well-maintained, the bedding is comfortable, and rooms are cleaned promptly every day. The only downsides are the low water pressure in the shower and the air conditioning not being adjustable. One of the two rooms we booked was a bit warm.

We booked rooms on the first and second floors using two different platforms. I have to call out Dolphin here – you're seriously expensive! No wonder you rake in 200 million a day... Anyway, personally, I prefer the first-floor room. It has a great open view and an outdoor hot tub which feels very exotic for showering. Plus, it's even cheaper than the one upstairs.

Stayed here with my family and overall we had a pleasant stay. The resort grounds are beautiful, spacious and full of greenery, giving a relaxing kampung-style tropical vibe. The beach is just a short walk away and the sunset view was amazing.
The swimming pool was one of our kids' favourite spots. Staff were generally friendly and check-in was smooth. The room was comfortable and suitable for families.
However, we experienced an issue during our stay where several family members developed itchy rashes/insect bites. We are not completely certain of the source, but it affected our overall experience and caused some concern, especially with young children.
Despite that, the resort itself is beautiful, family-friendly and located in a great area near Pantai Cenang. Hopefully the resort can look into this matter to ensure future guests have a more comfortable stay.
The resort was AMAZING all the people were super welcoming from the receptionist to the cleaners to the people driving the shuttle bus specially Amirul, was incredibly kind and informative. My room was to die for, very dreamy and for sure I used the jacuzzi every time I could, the view was spectacular, the food was delicious, the fire show was very cool. I didn’t want to leave. I 100%%% recommend it.

I recently checked out from The RIYAZ Lavanya and had a wonderful stay. I would highly recommend this hotel as the facilities, accommodation, and overall experience exceeded my expectations.
Highlights of my stay:
* Stunning rooftop views with a great atmosphere.
* Delicious breakfast with a good variety of choices.
* Spacious, clean, and comfortable rooms.
* Excellent service from all staff members, who were friendly, professional, and attentive throughout my stay.
Thank you for making my trip to Langkawi a memorable one. I look forward to staying here again in the future.
My stay at The Datai Langkawi was nothing short of magical. Nestled in the rainforest with direct access to the beach, the resort offers the perfect blend of nature and luxury. From the moment I arrived, I felt a deep sense of peace and serenity.
The service was truly remarkable — every staff member made me feel warmly welcomed and well taken care of. Breakfast was a highlight, with an incredible spread and even free-flow champagne, making mornings extra special.
I celebrated my birthday here and it was the best I’ve ever had — unforgettable in every way. I especially loved the adult-only pool, which was so quiet and peaceful, a perfect place to unwind and soak in the surroundings.
The Datai has left me with beautiful memories and I will definitely return. Highly recommended to anyone looking for a serene, luxurious getaway.

We arrived at 12.30pm but our room wasn’t ready yet. When I went to the front desk to ask if there was an activity room for my children, the manager on duty at that time, Shukri, personally showed us the 2 activity rooms for different age groups on the second floor. I thought that was excellent service. Thank you, Shukri!
When I went to the front desk later to ask about our room, I was surprised as we had gotten an unexpected upgrade to the 2-bedroom suite with ocean view because the room type I had booked wasn’t available.
The suite was much bigger than what we had paid for and very spacious for the 4 of us. It was on a high floor with a balcony at the main bedroom with ocean and sunset view. There is also a balcony for the other bedroom which had the mountain view. The suite is at the end of the floor and it also has another balcony along the entire length of the suite from front to back. The balconies give you unblocked views of the whole surrounding which was awesome!
On our last night there which was a Friday night, the hotel had a bbq by the beach for paid diners and it also came with a fire show. I think the bbq is every Friday and Saturday so you could watch the fire show without having to go to Hidden Cafe or Chenang Beach.
We really enjoyed the big space in the suite and the magnificent views from up there. If you are travelling with children, do consider the 2-bedroom suite. You would appreciate having another bathroom and less waiting time when everyone needs to get ready before going out. We also thoroughly enjoyed the buffet breakfast. There was a wide variety and some food options change daily.
We would love to be back there again one day. We had a great time as a family. Trust me, this is not a paid promo!
To be quite honest, I could not fault anything in this newly built resort.
The rooms were spacious with a great view of the garden and part sea. although Nestled in the lush green forest and the beachfront it is not too far from anywhere. 20 minute grab ride to Chennang Beach, if you want to go and see the fireworks at night. However, there’s no need to leave the resort because it has everything. The staff was exceptional. I could not fault one percent of anything going wrong with them from concierge checking in both the restaurants we used Was exceptional. Although five star resort the price is still quite reasonable even if you go 2 to 3 nights you will enjoy the facilities and the night dining.
I blindly chose this hotel and stayed for 5 consecutive days, ready to just relax. Overall, I'm quite satisfied. The hotel is located by the sea and near the mountains, about a 30-minute drive from Cenang Beach, making it relatively quiet. If you need to go out, taking a taxi is very convenient. The hotel has several swimming pools, which are great for kids. My child didn't want to leave the pool once they got in, and you can order drinks right by the poolside, which is very handy. The breakfast variety changes a bit, and the eggs + pancakes pictured were delicious – the sauce was definitely the highlight. The staff were all quite friendly and greeted me warmly whenever we met.
Visited during the Chinese New Year peak season. Booked a standard room, but upon arrival, they upgraded us directly to a sea view room (some views were partially obstructed by trees), which was a pleasant surprise. The staff were quite enthusiastic and very kind to children. The swimming pool was fantastic, we went for a swim every day. As for dining, we only tried Langkawi Kitchen and Beach Grill, and both were pretty good.

GGuest UserStunning resort and excellent service !
The resort has 98 rooms so it feels really spacious and calm.
The beach is white and there is plenty of sunbeds with or without umbrella’s. The main pool is located directed on the beach.
The gym is well made and spa is also stunning

AAnonymous UserI had an excellent time at The Danna and highly recommend anyone who is looking for a place to relax and chill in Langkawi. Here are some of the highlights of my stay:
- Friendly and smiley staff who attended to all my requests and enquiries.
- Beautiful British colonial style architecture and design with spacious hallways, high ceilings and lovely greenery in the centre of the building. There was a lovely lotus pond outside my room which was so delicately nurtured and sustained that it looked like a piece of artwork.
- The refreshing and relaxing smell of orchid / lily scattered all around the hotel.
- I stayed in the Viceroy Room (King bed) which was very spacious, clean, quiet and consistent with the British colonial architect. There was a terrace in my room which I could enjoy the stunning views of sunrise and sunset every day. I felt highly pampered using the Jo Malone bath amenities!
- Amazing Italian food at the Terrace, and nice buffet brunch at Planter’s. Shoutout to the talented pianist Emzac who played impromptu classic Cantonesen jazz every morning - he made me felt home!
Although the hotel was located far away from town and the beach side restaurants which could be a bit inconvenient to commute, The Danna is a place where you can spend the entire day relaxing and resting without realising how quickly the time passed by!
