5-Star Hotels in Johor, Malaysia

A last minute booking for us and decided to stay at KSL hotel as we previously stayed before. Also there’s night market just right in front of KSL every Monday.

I recently stayed at a place and it truly earned its five-star rating; the facility was spotless and exceptionally well-maintained. It's also conveniently located near a mall 🛍️, making it super easy to indulge in some retail therapy. The location itself is fantastic, offering easy access to many attractions. Plus, the room service was impressively good, always prompt and the food was delicious. Overall, I had an amazing experience and would definitely recommend it.

Stayed for one night with my wife and was quite happy overall. Here are the pros: The room was spacious, clean, and had all the amenities we needed. Eager and friendly service. They always had a smile ready for us. Good spread at the breakfast buffet, while the food was also quite tasty. Nice swimming pool, and decent gym. Hourly shuttle service to CIQ There are only three cons, none of which are the fault of the staff. One is that it's clear the hotel is in a slight state of disrepair, with some cracks in our toilet sink area. Second is the proximity of other buildings to our room, with the block next door able to look into our toilet if the blinds are properly drawn. Third is actually the location. While it is really near the CIQ, it's also, unfortunately, right next to the massive construction site building the new HSR project. It's not so noisy, but it sadly spoils any kind of view. But if you're just looking for a nice place with good service and amenities to come back to, and not bothered by the view, this place is great!

I appreciate receptionist Miss Kisha & Mr shahid for making my Birthday trip a memorable one , they help me to change my room from deluxe twin to deluxe King because I had made mistake during my booking. It’s a lovely hotel and friendly staffs.Room was clean and spacious. Lots of shops and eateries and massage place just right downstairs and there’s a weekly Sunday market right beside the hotel. it’s only a 15mins drive away to mid valley Southkey . I would certainly come back and stay here again

The hotel is a bit dated, and the bathroom—especially the bathtub—could have been cleaner. It felt a little muddy and not well-maintained. That said, the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, which made a big difference. As for the food, it was just okay—not bad, but nothing special

A perfect place to stay to clear your mind by the seaside. the brand speaks for itself. The room is huge and the bed is comfortable. the water pressure for the shower is superb. The breakfast buffet spread has a lot of choices. I love the atmosphere and how well planned the desaru beach area.

Stayed here for a short getaway and overall had a great time, especially if you’re coming with kids or as a family. 👍 What we liked: • Vibrant atmosphere: True to the Hard Rock brand — fun, lively, and music-themed. • Direct access to Adventure Waterpark: A huge plus! Easy entry for hotel guests. • Comfortable rooms: Clean, modern, and spacious. Rock-inspired decor adds a fun touch. • Friendly staff: Warm and helpful service throughout. • Kids-friendly activities: From the pool to guitar rentals, lots to keep them entertained. 👎 What could be better: • Breakfast variety: Decent but could use more local options. • Elevators can be slow during peak hours. • Limited food options in walking distance unless you head into the waterpark or drive out. ⭐ Verdict: 4/5 Great spot for a short family escape with a cool vibe. Especially worth it if you’re combining with the waterpark. Just manage expectations for dining and some minor inconveniences.

I had a very pleasant stay at Fraser Place Puteri Harbour and was impressed by the overall quality and service. The hotel is beautifully maintained, with a stylish and modern design that made my stay feel both comfortable and luxurious. The staff were quite exceptional — warm, professional, and always ready to help with any request. Check-in was smooth, and I appreciated the attention to detail throughout my stay. My room was spacious, spotless, and well-appointed with everything I needed, including a comfortable bed, fast Wi-Fi, and a well-equipped bathroom. The on-site facilities, including the pool and restaurant, were great. Breakfast was varied and delicious, with a good mix of local and international options. The only slight drawback was the location — it’s a bit out of the way from major attractions and central transport links. While the area is quiet and peaceful (which I appreciated for relaxation), it may require a short taxi or ride-share to get to the main city spots. That said, if you don’t mind being a little off the beaten path, Fraser Place Puteri Harbour offers excellent value and a truly enjoyable stay. I’d definitely return for the comfort and service alone! Free parking and remember to validate TNG before checking out.

The room are just nice for family of four. The carpet is clean and thick. So we feel relieved to let our children to play in the room. The front line staff at the reception are nice and friendly. We met an incident from the grab delivery who was irresponsible and anyhow delivered our foods to another destination. We guided to deliver to the right place but he refused and dumped our foods there and left. When the front line staff knew our encountered, recommended us to get the grabexpress to pick up the foods and delivered to us. Thanks and really appreciate to their info...if not, my kid will be very hungry.

I am a solo biker doing shift work in the next country so I book resorts and suites on the weekends, Le Grandeur stands out as my favorite location in Johor because it is very exclusive location and away from the crowds. Because it is situated in nature the resort has a very temperate climate, on my day of arrival it was foggy after the rain and it really felt cooler than Cameron Highlands using natural ventilation. You will barely need the air con in the room and just set it 30 degrees and maximum fan for circulation will do. The service standards are very high, polite and efficient to all nationalities of guests and feel very welcome when the front desk agents understand I want to be a little cautious and quiet around people. I will definitely be back for more staycations!
