On of the best hotel in KK! From front desk to housekeeping, it was such a great experience! Include your breakfast package if you decided to stay here! You won’t regret it! Spread of selection for you, noodles, rice, sushi, you name it! Definitely worth it! The scenery and view from the hotel room was breathtaking. You’re able to see Mt Kinabalu (if it’s not raining!). Sky is super bright by 5:45-6am, be sure to catch the sunrise ! Overall, no regret choosing this hotel for my 5D4N trip! 😊😊👍🏻👍🏻

The Hotel is located at the area with many seafood restaurants and it is also convenient to access to different shops. On the first day, we were given a room without views that made us very unhappy. Then they agreed to change it to better views. The sensor of the light control was out of order on the third day, but they could fix it on the same day. The staff of the Hotel would send messages to connect with us. It was very helpful Hotel. Their breakfast was really fantastic, we highly recommended it.

Stayed 3 nights for RM1860 at Hyatt Regency KK for our anniversary. Unfortunately, the experience didn’t meet our expectations for a 5★ hotel. 1. Room details were unclear – I filtered for a bathtub but the room had none. 2. Despite emailing in advance, no small anniversary gesture was offered. Other hotels have given complimentary cake even for 1-night stays, but here only celebration packages were suggested. 3. Breakfast lacked variety – mostly the same dishes with only slight changes. 4. Reception service felt less welcoming compared to how they treated foreign guests. 5. Even after paying RM65 for a cake package, we were told it would be delivered the next day at 7pm, but it suddenly arrived just 2 hours after check-in. Very poor coordination between staff. 6. During check-in, I noticed a board at reception stating that guests checking in between Merdeka and Malaysia Day would receive F&B vouchers. It didn’t mention that this was only for bookings made via the hotel’s website or specific platforms. As a guest, this felt unfair and not transparent. Only the view is superb since we choose sea view. The value and service were far below expectation. Hope the hotel can improve, but I personally wouldn’t choose Hyatt Regency KK again.

Hyatt Centric truly impressed! Upon arrival, the staff were incredibly welcoming, especially the young man from the baggage team. He not only helped with our luggage and stored it for us but also informed us we could check in at 1 PM (the usual check-in time is 3 PM), which was a fantastic perk. The hotel is centrally located, right across from a large shopping mall. Nearby, there are popular eateries like Fool Yuen and Xin Feng Bak Kut Teh, along with many restaurants catering to Chinese palates, and Sabah souvenir shops. The breakfast was extensive, offering a wide variety of options. I especially loved having breakfast in the morning with views of the sea and a clear blue sky. A taxi ride to Tanjung Aru during peak hours cost 35 RMB due to traffic congestion, but it was still convenient, and we even managed to check out the cultural wall. I would definitely choose this hotel again when visiting Kota Kinabalu.

Good location - We stayed here only for 1 night before catching a morning flight after a trip to Manukan Island. It was about 15 mins from the airport and 6 mins from Sutera Harbour. We were able to check in early at about 1pm. It was a great location with the market and food stalls just in front of the hotel. There was also the night market just beside the hotel. Club lounge - We enjoyed our time at the club lobby with unlimited alcoholic drinks from 5.30pm to 7.30pm. The service staff were very patient, welcoming, and attentive. Room - we had the king room with City view. The room was spacious and clean. While it was stated city view, we were able to have a view of the harbour and Mt Kinabalu at the far distance.

Not as good as my expectations of 5 stars of shangri la hotel, but still in great value and services consider the price is much cheaper. I came with my family including 2 kids at 6 and 8, they love the game area and swimming pools with water slides. Because of 2 nights stay in the wet seasons in September. especially after 5pm, a tropical rainfall so that I didn't get any chance to see sunset in the beaches. The beaches are not really good condition of sand quality. I enjoyed the morning hiking trip to the nearby hills and also the walk in the beach. Many wildlife and calm of the days.

One night stay at Suite Check-in took about 40 minutes, including queuing and waiting. My booking included club benefits, which meant access to the Magellan Club, but I wasn’t directed there. Instead, we were told to wait “five minutes” at the lounge for the front desk to double-check if the room was ready. The wait ended up being much longer, and we eventually had to return to the counter ourselves to ask if the room was available. The suite itself was acceptable in terms of cleanliness, but there were some minor maintenance issues: the fan remote in the living area didn’t work, and the main room remote was also faulty. The overall facilities were good, and the staff were friendly. Room service was impressively quick, especially when I requested extra bottled water, which was delivered promptly. Overall: A decent stay with some clear highlights such as the Magellan Club access, but better communication on benefits, smoother check-in, and room maintenance would make the experience much more enjoyable.

The environment is beautiful and much more comfortable than living in the town. The accommodation in the town can be described as terrible, dirty and messy. Here, you get quiet, beautiful, and the service is also ok. The lady at the front desk is very responsible! All the attractions can be booked with the hotel, the price is reasonable, and the car pick-up is provided. Speaking of eating seafood, the hotel has a shuttle bus that departs at different times. It only takes ten minutes to go to the seafood market in the town. You can eat seafood until you are full🧛🧛♀️ In short, just stay here and enjoy it. The hotel will arrange everything

AAnonymous UserJust got back home yesterday, and I'm determined to write a thorough review for this hotel. My kids also encouraged me to review it, because it truly deserves it. We booked four ocean villas for two nights, and I initially thought our chances of encountering issues would be higher with such a large booking. But we didn't run into any problems at all! In fact, I even regretted not booking more nights, mainly because I was put off by too many negative reviews on Ctrip. 1. **Service:** If you're comfortable communicating in English, the hotel service is absolutely fantastic. Most of the staff speak excellent English and were diligent in explaining activities, facilities, schedules, and programs. They showed us where everything was in the room and proactively informed us about the cost if we broke any of the toiletries bottles. The higher cost for broken bottles is because the contents are genuinely expensive – they're pure plant essential oil toiletries. As someone who regularly uses essential oils, I know they shouldn't be stored in plastic. Plus, these toiletries left our hair and skin feeling moisturized, not dry. I found them to be very effective. If you're worried about breaking them, just place them on the floor. 2. **Seawater:** The seawater is quite clear. While it's not a 'jelly blue,' the clarity is definitely good. We did experience a heavy downpour one day, and the water became a bit murky the next, but it was still perfectly acceptable. The photo of the large sea turtle looks a bit blurry because it was taken with a waterproof phone case, but the water itself was actually very clear. That was taken from under our water villa. The manta ray was photographed near the stairs of our water villa room. 3. **No Outside Food Policy:** They don't allow outside food in the rooms because it attracts ants and monkeys. The front desk has a dedicated area for storing snacks. We didn't bring any snacks into our room and always closed the door promptly, so we didn't have any bugs or insects. A crucial point: absolutely do not feed the monkeys! 4. **Meals:** We had all our meals at the hotel restaurant, and the food was truly delicious. A main meal costs around 90+ MYR per person (about 160 CNY). We felt the food was excellent, with a good variety of dishes and drinks beyond just the main courses. The kids' portions were a bit small; our four children ordered 7 kids' meals, and eventually, we just ordered them regular adult meals instead. 5. **Hot Water:** Regarding previous reviews mentioning no hot water, one of our rooms indeed had this issue. We called the front desk, and it turned out there's a 'water heater' button on the wall. Hot water was available within 15 minutes. So, don't hesitate to ask! Don't be shy; good service often requires you to speak up. 6. **Free Rentals:** Paddleboards, small boats, fins, and masks are all available for free rental. 7. **Marine Life:** In the ocean, we spotted baby sharks, baby manta rays, triggerfish, archerfish (the ones that shoot water), porcupinefish, and even a large sea turtle (which is rare, but we got lucky!). 8. **Welcome/Farewell:** We received a welcome ceremony and a welcome drink upon arrival. Upon departure, we sometimes had the whole staff waving goodbye to us. 9. **Guest Demographics:** There were a lot of European and American guests at the hotel, some Koreans, but not many Chinese guests. I wonder if this is due to the excessive negative reviews on Ctrip. 10. **Cleanliness:** The hygiene was excellent, and the rooms were very clean. Each room came with life vests, so you could go snorkeling anytime. That pretty much covers it. I believe if your English communication is good, feel free to chat with the front desk and restaurant staff; they are very engaging. At 8 AM, the hotel organizes a free jungle trek. It was a bit tiring, and we didn't see much – just hiking uphill. For reference, my experience this trip, and with these four rooms, was genuinely excellent. Having been to places like the Maldives, Bali, and Koh Lipe... I think this hotel offers great value for money, and I would definitely come back. Hotels at this price point on Koh Lipe before were significantly worse.

__WeChat55843****We stayed as a family of three with our 11-year-old child. The two 1.35m beds were perfectly adequate for us. The hotel boasts an excellent location with convenient taxi access. Just a short stroll away, you can find Da Jia Lai (a famous seafood restaurant) and Durian Fresh. The area behind the hotel is great for a walk and photos, with many boats visible on the water. There's also a market nearby. Gaya Street is about a 15-minute walk away. Overall, we had a very positive experience. They have Chinese-speaking staff at the front desk, which made the experience even better and the service excellent. We tried the buffet dinner once; it was decent, offering a good selection of dishes like lamb chops, salmon, scallops, oysters, grilled tiger prawns, and various desserts, all enjoyed with a nice view. The fantastic 8th-floor pool is perfect for kids.

KKara TaiThe resort is very easy to get to from Kota Kinabalu airport. Using the Grab app makes it convenient to call a car to take you to the Jesselton Point to catch the boat to the resort. The resort is quite beautiful and clean. Reading other reviews, I wasn’t quite sure why several had complaints about the price and food. The food was all excellent - fresh and reasonably priced. We ate at both specialty restaurants as well - Fisherman’s Cove and Omakase - and both were excellent. The breakfast and dinner buffets had a lot of variety to choose from and all the staff were friendly and helpful. The bed was incredibly comfortable and we loved the sea view from our terrace. The bathroom was well-equipped and spacious. The pool was very clean and there were plenty of sun chairs to choose from. The gift shop had many cute items. The spa is beautiful and the massage was amazing! What needs improvement - the bathtub in our villa was a bit dirty with some dead bugs. It’s fantastic that they offer a complimentary boat shuttle to the other bay near the marine center but it’s extremely littered with plastic. I asked the staff for a garbage bag and ended up collecting about 5 kg worth of garbage from the beach and sea. This should be the government policy or authorities responsibility - they need to clean it up and charge fines for littering. Overall, we loved this resort and wanted to stay longer. We definitely recommend staying here. I would like to specifically mention Aileen, Rozana, Nathaniel and Shadar for making our stay memorable and comfortable.

Lliberte2016First & foremost, biggest compliments to the housekeeping team! We arrived in our villa around 2pm, went out around 4, and only returned at night after dinner to find: a mosquito coiled lit outside our door, bed has been made, coffee cups washed, rubbish bin cleared, how thoughtful! The sight of the sea from the resort was superb, enhanced by the good weather. The welcome drink of calamansi juice with plum, aka Kitchai Ping as it’s known locally, was as good as my mom’s. We initially intended to have the weekend hi-tea, but apparently it had to be pre-booked at least a day before. Thanks to that we got to enjoy happy hour instead, before having the weekend BBQ dinner that we managed to book a slot upon arrival. Bartender gave us extra kicks in our cocktails, thank you for taking our relaxation up a notch! However we seemed to be unlucky with food serving. We booked for dinner at 6 but our happy hour session somehow made some miscommunications and delay. Food was good and a plenty, though we did notice satays were missing, but we were well fed. Breakfast order was also somewhat mixed up, kitchen must be overwhelmed with many guests, but we got what we wanted in the end. Overall we are happy with our stay. We didn’t manage to explore the trails, perhaps we may return for a day trip in the future, and have that weekend hi-tea we missed.

KITKATComplaint: Near the turtle viewing area, there were several sand pits on the beach that posed a serious safety hazard! My calf accidentally slipped into one of these holes. As we were about to leave the island, I was in such a rush that I didn't thoroughly check the injury. Three weeks later, the scar on my calf from the sand abrasion is still visible. 😣 Not only did I endure physical discomfort, but it has also significantly marred the appearance of my leg! 😤 Round-trip Airport Transfer (advance booking required): I booked the airport pick-up service. The bus was completely full and took a grueling 90 minutes to reach the pier. From there, it was a 50-minute boat ride to the hotel. The boat was incredibly choppy, and I felt so seasick I nearly vomited! 🤮 Cleanliness: The room's cleanliness was just average. Facilities: Outdated. Setting: The natural environment was well-preserved, and the scenery was beautiful. Service: It was merely average, with the food quality being particularly disappointing.
