Anonymous UserThe room was spacious enough and the bed quite comfortable. The no window situation did not work for me, as I then have trouble to get up, but it was in the room description, so that's OK.
What I liked a lot, was the shower. Very good water pressure and proper ventilation.
What was lacking is tea bags. Kettle and some instant coffee was provided. Tea bags would've been awesome!
Overall, if you can forgive the no window thing, I can definitely recommend this hotel. The location is superb and the style quite fun.

This stay was in the Pine View room, located in the newer annex. The facilities were new and clean, and the hot spring water quality was excellent. The overall lighting and environment were good. Unfortunately, the shower head was broken. The double bed was made of two single beds pushed together, and the mattresses felt quite old, with a noticeable bump where they joined but a dip in the middle, which made it hard to sleep comfortably. The breakfast offered a decent variety of Chinese and Western options. The staff were friendly and had a good attitude. I'd suggest they pay more attention to the quality control of the bamboo shoots served with the congee; they had a strong rancid smell, as if they'd been sitting for a long time.

The Plaza Hotel is actually an older, well-established brand in Taichung. Its location is quite good, and the entire hotel has been recently renovated, so it's still very spacious and clean. It's conveniently located in the city center, making it easy to get to Fengjia Night Market, the Intercontinental Baseball Stadium, the new Hanshin Department Store, or Shinkong Mitsukoshi in the 7th Redevelopment Zone. There's parking available on-site. The hotel also offers breakfast, but you can choose a room-only option if you prefer not to have it. Definitely recommended!

Guest UserGreat hotel ever! Room is very clean, big, and good smell. Good location of hotel. Very near MRT Ximen exit 5 and Ximending. The staffs are very great, polite, and helpful. Many types of room (2-3-4 beds) with reasonable price. This hotel will the one and only one that I will choose and book for the next Taipei trip.

The bustling downtown and market are just a 10-15 minute walk from the hotel. Nearly all the staff were incredibly friendly and professional in answering our questions. This trip marked our seven-month anniversary, and it added so many wonderful memories as we head towards our eighth month together.
Upon check-in, the hotel learned we were celebrating our anniversary and thoughtfully upgraded us to a mountain-view room. The in-room welcome drinks were incredibly generous, featuring mini beers, plum wine, coke, and Pocari Sweat – essential for rehydration after a soak; they even included face masks to pamper us while we enjoyed the in-room hot spring bath.
All the room's fixtures and fittings were new and high-quality: a Toto washlet, a Panasonic 1400 nanoe hairdryer, a thoughtful wooden gua sha massage comb, and hyaluronic acid-infused shower gel that left skin feeling smooth and soft. What truly amazed me were the double-layered automatic curtains (even in the room's private hot spring area!). The double room's bathtub was spacious enough for up to four people – a very comfortable size.
In the afternoon, the lobby offered preserved fruits and freshly brewed tea, perfect for a relaxing break after a dip in the outdoor public hot spring. After dinner, they provided handmade kumquat-flavored tofu pudding, and it was unlimited – so generous! (There's a lovely staff member in the lobby, Tina, who's a treasure trove of recommendations for local food and sights; don't hesitate to ask her for her secret list of must-try places!)
Last but not least, I highly recommend trying the hotel's breakfast, especially the freshly blanched beef soup. Even my boyfriend, who grew up in Tainan, the home of beef soup, couldn't stop raving about it.
*If you're planning a weekday visit like we did and want to try some local famous eateries, be sure to check their opening hours in advance. Many popular spots are only open from Friday to Sunday or during specific hours, like mornings until 2 PM. (Luckily, you can find a lot of food on Uber Eats!)
Heartily recommend!

babyjobeI love the hotel offer of tub inclusive shower room, giving me the maximum comfort after a long day of touring through taipei! Even further, the hotel offers the bath salt for relaxation that reduces my muscle stress. Moreover, it offers a small baby chair for me to take shower with full convenience! This is 100% Amazing Grace!

Roxxxiiliciousi always love my stay at this main station location because it’s so convenient. Walking distance to dihua street, loads of food options, your next to the train station so if you need to get to airport or anywhere it’s right next door. It makes travelling around so simple. The staff are friendly. The room is always clean! It’s one of my favorite spots to stay!

Lilyeen_The hotel's location is fantastic, right outside Metro Exit 5. The only slight drawback is the soundproofing. We booked a twin room, and it felt like one of the beds was directly above the neighboring room's water pipes, so we'd hear noise every time they turned on the water.

We recently had the pleasure of staying at the Humble Boutique Hotel from March 30 to April 5, 2026, for our first sightseeing trip to Taipei. We would like to express our genuine gratitude for the hospitality we received during our six-day visit.
Commendable Service & Hospitality
The true highlight of our stay was the staff. From the concierge and housekeeping teams to the gym and restaurant staff, everyone worked diligently to ensure the hotel ran smoothly. We were particularly impressed by the team’s English proficiency; communication was seamless, making us and the many international guests we encountered feel very much at home.
We would like to extend a special thank you to:
* Kaley, Tina, and Mary at the restaurant for their attentive service.
* Our dedicated housekeeper (the kind lady from Vietnam) who looked after our room on the 9th floor.
Excellent Facilities & Location
* Prime Accessibility: The hotel’s location in the central district is incredibly convenient. Being just steps away from the MRT station made our sightseeing effortless, and the 30-minute shuttle ride from the airport was very efficient.
COMPACT GYM: It’s compact but contains most of the equipments I need including treadmill, stairclimbers, Multi- purpose gym stations and dumbbell.
WARM SWIMMING POOL: nice, long and warm - the water is kept at a temperature of 28 degree. Towel will be provided. Make sure to bring your own swimming hat if you prefer to swim.
* Accommodations: Our corner King Room on the 9th floor was spacious, impeccably clean, and provided a very cozy retreat after a long day of exploring.
* Wellness & Dining: We enjoyed the well-equipped, compact gym and the lovely heated pool, which was maintained at a comfortable 28°C. Furthermore, the semi-buffet breakfast on the 2nd floor was a daily highlight. Each of the five main course options was delicious and well-prepared.
Constructive Reflections
In the spirit of helpfulness, we noticed two small areas for potential improvement. First, the installation of a few coin-operated laundry machines would be a wonderful convenience for long-term travelers. Second, as the hotel is so centrally located, there is some audible road noise even on the higher floors; however, this is understandable given the prime location.
FINAL
We would rate our experience a 9.5/10. Had there been laundry facilities, it would have been a perfect 10. The Humble Boutique Hotel will undoubtedly be our first choice when we return to Taipei. Thank you for making our first visit so memorable.
