The hotel's location is great; the beach is right outside the room. However, the room had a very strong musty smell, and the blankets were damp. I called room service, and they brought new sheets and a spray bottle, but that didn't really solve the problem. When I asked if they had a dehumidifier, they seemed to have never heard of it, which I understand. They didn't offer to change rooms, and considering the new room might also have a musty smell, we didn't ask for a change. We made do for two nights, but didn't sleep well at all due to the overwhelming musty smell. Also, on the second night, there were intermittent power outages, which was quite scary. Crucially, all four phones in the room were broken; at least, I couldn't contact the front desk. I had to use my phone to call the hotel's number from Google Maps to order water and other services. The staff said I could order room service through a mobile app upon check-in, but I tried and couldn't get through. I sent a message, but the water never arrived. The next day, when we inquired about activities at the front desk, a female staff member was extremely arrogant and rude. She initially refused to book our whale watching tour for the following day, citing bad weather and the long distance. I told her we were willing to take the risk and drive there ourselves, but she still advised against it. However, when we asked if she had any other recommended activities, she said no. We were speechless. Aside from the lobby and pool being somewhat nice, this hotel doesn't have any other particularly outstanding features, and we will definitely not stay here again.

This hotel is half-packed, dining options are limited, many are paid, drinks are not included in the meal, the room uses two bottles per day, more have to pay, the overall is not recommended to choose this hotel, there is no business around the location, shopping is not convenient. In addition, the beach is small and the seats have to occupy a place, a bit strange! There are many hotels in Mauritius, this hotel is not the best choice.

The room was better. I paid a little more and was closer to the beach. It was a sea view room. The room layout was reasonable and there was a small balcony. The food in the hotel was OK. Although the all-inclusive package only covered one restaurant, the dishes would be changed. The only complaint was that the water temperature of the swimming pool was not heated, which was not as good as staying in a hotel in the northwest. In addition, it was windy those days and I didn't participate in the free sea activities. For the different scenery around, I still recommend staying here.

The beach is amazing, and it is said that the East Coast Sea is the most beautiful, and it is really not ordinary. The hotel and the next American shore share the same beach. Outside the beach is a small lagoon. The waves are rough outside and the waves are calm inside. A few special points, such as parachute and diving, are basically free. I played sailing for the first time in my life. Someone brought it and gave me a tip (100 to 200 rupees). Breakfast is average, little change every day, and you can eat. But the dinner was great, with different themes every night. The coolest thing is to come across a seafood theme. I have seen a foreigner take a dozen original sea urchins. Attach a picture to let everyone see what the original sea urchin looks like. The yellow strips in the sea urchin shell on the left are the sea urchins that are usually eaten.

The hotel is available for check-in at 2pm, then there will be a welcome towel and drink, and you can check in with your passport and check-in voucher. The room was clean and tidy with toiletries but no toothbrush. There is also a small balcony, and birds are reported every morning. The notice on the first floor will have daily activities, and the pool will be divided into two for the adults and children. The breakfast is divided into vegetables, fruits, staple foods, juices, coffee, etc. It is also suitable for the national taste, and it is basically European and American.

What an amazing hotel!! The hotel was so beautiful with beautiful beaches. Beautiful pools. A lot of trees. Service was amazing. Good breakfast. Comfy room and amazing view from the balcony. Also free boat service to go to a nearby island. We were sad to leave this hotel and wished we stayed longer. Really there’s nothing negative we can say about this hotel. We will definitely stay here again next time we come back to Mauritius. Oh and they also gave us a bottle of white wine in the room! Now we are staying at another 5 star hotel but Shangri-la was so much better.
