2-Star Hotels in Shanxi, China

I have to say this is the best accomodation in my entire Shanxi trip in which i stayed in 5 facilities. I truly appreciate the service provided, i got what i needed in a timely manner. As a solo traveller in a foreign country (i can speak simple mandarin, but cannot read chinese), i was glad that the proprieter could pick me up from Pingyaoguzhen station. Although i initiated the request, from then on, about 5 minutes before the train arrived Pingyao, he was proactive to send me a voice message on wechat when he arrived at the station and shared a photo to identify himself. The journey was 15 minutes in the car, followed by a tuk tuk as cars are not allowed to enter the ancient city during the day. The point of entry to the facility is via the north gate, it is a 3 minutes walk to Ma family mansion and about 10 minutes walk to the centre of the ancient city where most of the good restaurants are located. I booked a traditional chinese design room on the ground floor with the dragon-phoenix bed and another day bed. I did not ask, but i guess the facility is an old house that was built more than 100 years ago, there is a sign at the external wall of the homestay that indicate it is a protected building. As it was an old house, i was surprised that the room was clean, just the bathroom was slightly deteriorated (there is no separation of wet vs dry). The blanket in traditional dragon & phoenix design and traditional pillows with seed-like fillings were clean and odourless, i was so glad. Although the mattress was quite thin, it was not hard, i was glad. The proprieter gave me a map and explained the layout of the old city how to get around, where to eat, and help arranged shared car to Qiao family mansion. Upon checking out, i was given a bottle of locally brewed vinegar. The proprieter was not around when i left, he sent me voice message to arrange transport for my trip to the train station. I actually felt sorry when i told him that i booked another place in the more happening area of the ancient city (south gate) after checking out from his place. There are many buggy cars operating in the ancient city, charging ¥10/trip, you can tell the driver your desired destination and he/she will drop you at the door step or the closest drop off point if that area is not accesible.

Great location. Only 5 mins walk to the HuaYan Temple entrance. Plenty restaurant nearby. 老柴knife-cut noodle just nearby (like their fried noodle). Famous SiewMai LJX also 7mins walk away. 代王府Just 10mins away. Bus stop just right in front of the hotel. Very convenient. Room is small, especially I carrying a M size check-in luggage. Found a space to place and open my luggage. But lucky I was alone without companion or another luggage. But just nice for me, small room but cozy. Customer service is very good. They are helpful provided me some tips to tour around the city. Even recommend me rent public bicycle. I was having so much fun in Datong thanks to this hotel friendly customer services.

The hotel saw that it was quite new and very clean. It arrived at more than two o'clock in the morning in the evening. The store had been waiting. It was very warm. The room was still clean. The bed was brand new. I slept very sleepy. The next day I got up and asked a lot of questions about the scenic spot, and the store brother has been patiently answering. I recommend this hotel.

From start to finish everything was perfect! The communication was easy and friendly, and they came to pick us up when we arrived at the north gate of the town. So nice! The owner speaks English which was helpful. The hotel is in a quiet sidestreet and is very cute. Good looking courtyard inside and spacious rooms. Clean and comfortable. The owners helped a lot with planning our stay and we would stay again if we ever come back!

From booking to check-out, every detail makes people feel the hotel's care and professionalism. I believe it will make foreign tourists feel at home. Environmental facilities: The room is simple and advanced in design, with dry and wet separation, easy to use, and disposable compressed towels are provided. The bedding is soft and comfortable, so you can sleep until you wake up naturally. The snacks provided were also delicious. Excellent location: very close to Bell Tower Street, surrounded by convenience stores and restaurants, you can easily get a midnight snack. Bonus: The lady at the front desk helped me put away the clothes in the dryer and brought them up with a robot, which was very considerate. The hotel also provides free foot baths, noise-isolating earplugs, etc., and the most thoughtful thing is that they also provide contact lens solution. The late check-out at 14:00 is very user-friendly, and the time is much more relaxed. Next time I come to play nearby, I will choose here again.

The newly opened Ming and Qing Ancient Rhyme Inn is located in the ancient city. The courtyard and rooms are clean and tidy, and the bedding is fine and comfortable. The store personally picked up and dropped off the car from the parking lot, which was very thoughtful and attentive! Shanxi mature vinegar and sea buckthorn juice were also given as gifts🙏🙏🙏

It is a wonderful location which gave us a lot of convenience & time. Especially Mr.Chang who is very helpful.helping us book online 3 tour destinations.he a very humble person. Beside staff ah mei also great staff which keeps checking asking to clean our room. I fully recommend staying at this hotel. Given this hotel 5 star rating.
