Everything was ok. Room was clean, with nice views and as depicted in the web. Staff is kind and helpful. You can ask them for advice to visit the main hotpots in Datong. But bear in mind that this is an b&b with no proper reception desk. You need to contact the property in advance, or go to the liquor shop next door otherwise. The hotel does not provide real towels but disposable towels (made of paper).

Located between Taiyuan Station and May Day Square, the location is good, the room is clean and tidy, with everything you need, quiet and no noise at night, and good service attitude👍

The room layout is particularly warm, one person came to travel, chose this kind of big bed room, I feel very good in health services. I thought this price could not choose a particularly clean hotel, but this stay made me think that this hotel is excellent value for money whether it is from hygiene or decoration, or the service. Especially recommended!

The hotel facilities and amenities were poor. The showerhead and power outlets were loose, resulting in weak water pressure during the shower, which exacerbated the already low water pressure. The USB connector on the outlet was also extremely loose; my phone kept getting notifications that it was plugged in, but I couldn't charge it for several hours, and the constant notifications also drained the battery. The bathroom was even worse. There wasn't a single wall hook or shelf for clothes and towels; they could only be placed next to the toilet or sink. The towel in the picture was placed next to the drain under the sink. I only stayed here to go to Hengshan the next day, since it's near the main bus station for the scenic area. The owner was also rather indifferent, only responding to questions briefly. One night is fine for getting there quickly and entering the city; it's not suitable for two nights or more.

Wow! Just wow! I looked at this place online and I was like I totally love it and I really wanted to stay in the old city as part of the experience of going to Pingyaogucheng. The hosts were super helpful picking me up from the station communicating via the Trip/app so I didn’t have to stress about communication issues.
I stayed in a kang room just near the courtyard. It was really comfortable a little chair and table, TV (not that I used it) kettle, private bathroom. It’s really convenient to go to a lot of the central places for sightseeing and also great food and snacks.
You can try some homemade alcohol and vinegar - and yes you get a bottle of vinegar to take with you at the end of your stay.

1. The quilt provided in the room is very thick. If I didn’t know better, I would have thought that your air conditioner can be turned on at 18 degrees. Its air conditioner can only be uniformly controlled at 28-29 degrees. You can't modify the air conditioner temperature. Can I cover myself with such a thick quilt at this temperature? I almost got a cold from the heat. Each room should be paired with thin quilts corresponding to the temperature
2. There are water stains on the bathroom cup. I suspect it has not been washed at all.
3. The bathroom wall has fallen off
The only thing that's okay is the breakfast. I'll leave the rest behind.

Just finished my stay at the Juji United Hotel and I have to give it a huge thumbs up!
Environment: Clean and tidy, impeccable! The room felt incredibly comfortable from the moment I entered. The bed, bathroom, and public areas were all impeccably clean and tidy, which made me feel very safe and comfortable.
Service: Warm and attentive, making me feel right at home! The front desk staff were incredibly friendly, efficient with check-in and check-out, always ready to answer any questions, and always smiling. They handled even minor issues promptly, making me feel very welcome.
Facilities: Comfortable and practical! The room was well-equipped. The mattress and pillows were comfortable, the air conditioning was powerful, the hot water was plentiful and consistent, the Wi-Fi was fast, the TV was clear, and there was a desk for working. While not luxurious, it had everything I needed, and everything was well-maintained and easy to use.
Excellent value for money! Considering all these points and the price, it was truly excellent value for money! A worthwhile and comfortable stay.
In short, I was extremely satisfied with my stay at the Juji United Hotel! The cleanliness, service, location, and comfort all met and exceeded my expectations. I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Datong for tourism or business! I'll definitely choose this place again next time! 👍

This stay was perfect! The hotel is strategically located, conveniently located, and the surrounding dining and shopping are all available. The front desk service was warm and thoughtful, and the room type was upgraded intimately at the same time. The rooms are spacious and bright, the bedding is soft and comfortable, the bathroom facilities are high-end and clean, and the details show the quality. The breakfast is rich in variety, the ingredients are fresh and the taste is memorable. Whether it is the smile greeting of the cleaning aunt or the rapid response of the room service, it makes people feel the warmth of being at home. The price is super high, the next trip will definitely choose again! Highly recommended to all passengers who pursue quality!

GGuest UserReally nice place, but as for most hotels, you cannot expect the staff to speak English (not a problem for me, but if you don't speak any Chinese be prepared). Location is great as it is around 2 minutes walk from 南大街/South Street and all the main museums and courtyards. The owners were very friendly and helpful, making time to explain all the places to see and were to eat. They can even help with good discounts, e.g. for the historical-themed performance '又见平遥'/Encore Pingyao as well as for restaurants.
The hotel is in a beautiful traditional courtyard, very quiet area so you will sleep well at night. The room has traditional furniture, adding to the atmosphere, and while small (but good value for the price) was comfortable. The bed is a so-called 'kang' with heating - it was so comfortable in the cold winter that it was hard to get out of bed in the morning! Part of the floor has heating too. The cleanliness is good too. I would really recommend this place, very good atmosphere and with everything you need to be comfortable.
GGuest UserI was greeted with a fruit platter during check-in, which was a wonderful welcome gesture considering I left my home about 24 hours earlier, traveling non-stop from California to Datong, China. The Inn provides a wonderful experience for the first-time foreign visitor. The interior decor has that Chinese charm consisting of artwork, a book display, an aquarium with an auspicious collection of 8 large fishes (carp, I think), in-room tea set with an on-table electric stove, which would be unique to most Westerners. The glass flooring adds an extraordinary appeal since I have never experienced that in a hotel before, and I have traveled to dozens of countries.
The Inn is well located, a short bus ride to Datong Railway Station (for non-high-speed rail travel)*, and a short taxi ride to Datong South Railway Station (for high-speed rail travel)**. It is just next to Datong City Wall. You can walk along the top of the City Wall at no cost. A 10-20 minute walk takes you to nearly all the attractions within the ancient City Wall. Here you will also find a variety of restaurants serving local food as well as souvenir shops. There is also a small shop that sells sundry items including drinks (beer included) within a 5-minute walk from the Inn. Across from this sundry shop, is a shop that specializes in ancient Chinese clothing (Hanfu dress). They can dress you up, cosmetics included.
The Inn provides directions to Yujian Yun Gang - a popular destination for travelers to Datong. Here you will see ancient Buddhist cave art, including large and tall (several stories tall) sculptures. It takes two bus rides to get there, 1RMB per ride.
My booking choice was for either a guest room on the 1st or 2nd floor but was assigned a wonderful 2nd-floor guest room.
The owners of the Inn were exceptionally friendly. I met both the mother and her daughter. My room was professionally cleaned and provided with drinking bottled water daily.
If I return to Datong in the future, I will certainly book a room at this Inn.
*I took a train from this station to travel south to Xinzhou after checking out.

DDizzerIf you want a more authentic experience than staying in a fancy hotel, this is your place. Mrs Liu (sp?) was so lovely and helpful. She speaks a bit of English and is very fast on the translation apps for what she doesn’t know. She gave us a map of the Ancient City and explained where we should visit. Every day she gave us water bottles. We stayed 2 nights.
You can experience a kang bed here, in a cozy room in a quaint courtyard. It was quite firm but still comfortable. There is air con which was needed when we were there. The bathroom is small but we found that everything didn’t get wet, despite the small size of the room.
The inn is on the “taxi-bus” route just off South Street. As it is a block from the Main Street it is significantly quieter as the honking of “taxi-buses” doesn’t happen as much in the alleyways. Just be careful to walk on the sides of the road as the mopeds and taxi-buses are electric so quiet, except for the honking which is loud and constant, and they drive quite fast for the size and busyness of the streets.
There is plenty of food places just a short walk away from the hotel. The ancient city was a lot more touristy than we had expected.
You need to prearrange with the innkeeper to organise a “taxi-bus” to pick you up from the South Gate. Regular cars are not allowed inside the city wall. We were dropped by the DiDi but it is too far and busy to walk with luggage to the inn. Mrs Liu and her husband helped us out with their mopeds.
Not many “taxi-bus” drivers know the inn as it is a smaller private hotel, so make sure you have the address printed out to show them. The taxi-bus is 10RMB pp per ride and you can flag them down anywhere on the streets they are allowed on, but they may not want to go where you want to go, so just flag another one until you get one that agrees. You scan the drivers QR code to pay.
Overall we enjoyed our stay at Pingyao Yunshu Inn.
GGuest UserExcellent hotel!
Great location, in the heart of the historic part of the city.. Easy to get from the southern Railway station by bus number 61. Comfortable nice room, very clean. The room has a kettle, cups, and tea bags. Girl from reception was so helpful. She has given a lot recomendation for visit attractions of Datun and has helped to find a transfer to Xuankong Si Monastery.

MM516789****The hotel is in a good location, near the train station and surrounded by shopping districts for convenient dining and shopping. In addition, the hotel also provides breakfast delivery. After booking breakfast, you can pick it up at the counter at 7 o'clock. The facilities are very new, clean and hygienic. The front desk is enthusiastic and very happy to help travelers👍🏻
黄黄善博The hotel was the priciest that we stayed at during our 45 days in China, though the beds, space, and bathroom were the nicest out of them all. For the price, I would’ve hoped that the staff would’ve been a bit more helpful—no elevator and many bags to carry up the three flights of stairs was really quite difficult. The staff also don’t speak any English at all, and my friend doesn’t speak any Chinese, and we didn’t really understand that you needed to put down a deposit of 100rmb that would then be refunded to you (or that they needed a Chinese phone number too; I didn’t have one, and as a foreigner traveling through China, if I had been by myself or didn’t know or have any Chinese friends with Chinese numbers, I would’ve been unable to check-in).
The hotel was very nice nonetheless. Fantastic location, very close to everything. The walk to the old city wall took about an hour, and would’ve been a ten minute taxi ride. The street the hotel is located on is full of lots of local shops and restaurants, and feels very lively during the day. The staff was also very friendly and enjoyed speaking with the foreigner at the hotel (although I had some trouble understanding the Shanxi accent! Jin Chinese is not my strongest!).
The WiFi was a bit slow. But the beds were incredible. Huge, clean, soft. Pillows were lovely. Bathroom was huge. Just wish there’d been a bit more service from the front desk. Was a tad weird to get up at 5:50am to go to the Hanging Temple 悬空寺, which is very normal, to see the woman at the front desk asleep… it was fine, but still a bit weird.
The boss is very good, stayed for about 20 days. The first time I lived in the room downstairs, I changed to the room upstairs when I lived. Especially warm, the boss is very good. My brother's feet were broken, but when I returned to Beijing, I was broken. Thanks to the boss's reminder, I must go to the hospital to check it. During the stay, the temples in the core scenic area of Wutai Mountain were almost all worshipped. When returning to the room, the boss will make up the water. It is very convenient to go to the core scenic area from the homestay. If there are Tibetans staying, it will be particularly lively.
AAnonymous UserThe room was very clean and the service was very thoughtful and welcoming. This should be the best service I have ever stayed in. The hotel is very good, the furnishings are more comfortable, and it is quite stylish. The guidance service at the front desk can also be done. The accommodation environment is quite quiet at night, and the breakfast type and taste are good. Recommended to stay 100 stars.
