Pingyao Zhonghuixuan Inn (Gucheng South Street Shilou Branch)

Inside Pingyao Ancient City
I took my parents-in-law to Pingyao to stay in a very distinctive inn! The ancient courtyard is paved with ancient bricks, and the overall mortise and tenon structure highlights the characteristics of Pingyao Shanxi merchants' wealth and exquisiteness! The lights are bright at night, and it is very beautiful! The boss is a real Pingyao person. He will contact the guests as soon as possible, drive to the outside of the ancient city to pick up the guests in the store for free, and is the only boss who will introduce the knowledge of various attractions in Pingyao Ancient City in detail! Staying in his house will give you a detailed guide to visit the ancient city! From the five A-level attractions to the top three time-honored restaurants with the best price-performance ratio, they are introduced one by one, and the boss will remind you to take the exclusive meal discount card when you go out, which is very considerate! The proprietress is young, beautiful, meticulous and capable! Before leaving, I also gave a souvenir of Shanxi Laochen vinegar! His family's ground jar cellar 53 degrees must be tried, it is mellow and not heady! Laochen vinegar is even better! And his house is very, very close to the main street, South Street (city building), but it is not as noisy as the main street at night. It is a rare five-star inn! I will stay at his house next time I go to Pingyao👍👍

The location is very convenient, right in the ancient city, parking is also convenient, there is a patio on the second floor, very unique, the room is big enough. The boss also gave me a fruit plate and a set of small tea sets. The next day, the aunt at the front desk wanted to give it to me, but I said it had already been given to me. It was so warm. I recommend staying in this hotel when you come to Datong Ancient City!
Wutaishan Jiuhong Hotel

Wuye Temple
The hotel is in a good location. There are buses to various scenic spots. There is a bus stop within a few minutes' walk. There are many restaurants within ten minutes' walk. It is convenient to eat. The facilities are relatively old. Especially the bathroom does not distinguish between dry and wet areas, which is very inconvenient. The sound insulation is not very good. Well, the room price is relatively expensive and the price-performance ratio is not high, but the boss is very nice. We watched Guanghua Temple in the evening and picked us up back to the hotel for free.

The room was very clean and the service was very thoughtful and welcoming. This should be the best service I have ever stayed in. The hotel is very good, the furnishings are more comfortable, and it is quite stylish. The guidance service at the front desk can also be done. The accommodation environment is quite quiet at night, and the breakfast type and taste are good. Recommended to stay 100 stars.

Nice place, Nice location; you can walk to the Ancient town, I took along time to catch nice scene along the city wall, park and canal. To get the hotel from Datong South Railway Station by bus no.31 from the bus station side(the area is connected), take around 30 minutes to get there (Yungang Jianguo hotel, the hotel is opposite, only 2 CNY, many food and minimart around there. There is Muslim food there if need(next to the entrance of C(behind the building). Nice service, self check-in, clean room and relaxing. the owner, you should to contact the owner before arrive, she so friendly and always help you, she suggested us about the famous local food and restaurants(Thank you so much). If you need to buy some necessary item and cannot buy at the around minimart, you can walk to the Yonghui Superstore by East side (the next junction) turn right to Yuhe West rd. (At the corner). From the hotel tobget Yungang Grottoes, you can take bus no. 31 (Yungang Jianguo side), get off at Shi Li Dian Cun Xi ( West Shilidian village), cross to another side and catch bus no.12 to the terminal stop(is Yungang Grottoes. Take 1 hour or 1.30 to get there.

I chose this hotel blindly when I came to Datong. The location of the hotel is easy to find. If you take a taxi into the south city and get off, it is easy to find. The room shows that it can accommodate four people, and there are exactly four of us. The hotel directly provided toiletries for three people, two beds, and the quilt in the loft was too small, so I asked the boss for a small quilt. The quilt was the kind of summer quilt. Fortunately, there was air conditioning in the room, otherwise I would not be able to sleep at night when the temperature dropped below minus degrees.

The location to the hotel is really something, but luckily the hotel staff came to pick us up from where the taxi stopped. The room was okay but in terms of cleanliness, there's still a lot to be done especially in the bathroom. If I were staying for longer it would be a problem using the wc but since it was just a night to catch a flight I'm not too mad. The bathroom was spacious enough and the room as well even though there were two beds, which was good. The overall stay was okay, we had to go back into town and the lovely Mr Lee was very helpful, he drove us back to the roadside to get a taxi and when we got back luckily we met him after the map took us to a wrong route and drove us back to the hotel. The airport was about 6 minutes from the hotel and even though we both had different departure times, one early in the morning and myself late afternoon, we were both taken to the airport as well. I think if the road to the hotel is fixed and they can do some real scrubbing and cleaning it would be a really good place.

Datong South Railway Station/Fantawild Adventure
We enjoyed our three nights stay in this hotel. Quiet and clean except for some not so pleasant smell from the bathroom. The staff are very friendly, helpful and responsive. This includes the free pickup transport driver, the front desk staff and the janitors as well. The breakfast provided by the hotel was so delicious and nutritious, too. We enjoyed the three mornings breakfast with different menu for three consecutive days. The chef and his wife were also very cheerful to see us enjoy their cooking. 👍👍👍👍👍 This hotel is located near to Datong South Railway Station. If you are using the public bus, there are five buses passing through :#68,#66,#61,#31,#14. Bus #68 & #66 also go to the city. The traveling time from the hotel to the city by public bus is about ½ an hour, ticket price is 2 Yuan each. It's only 20mins by taxi, 15-20 Yuan. There are also some eating shops nearby...

I actually stayed here for three nights, in two different rooms. Both the rooms were very spacious and light, which I appreciated. The room wasn’t spotlessly clean but definitely satisfactory for the price paid. The biggest problem for me was with the bathroom. In the first bathroom, the smell of smoke seemed to be coming through the vent from another room, and in both bathrooms the shower would benefit from hotter water and better water pressure. Despite this, the manager and the sister who worked on the reception were both very friendly and helpful. The manager let me use her phone number for my food delivery(so she could speak to and direct the driver) and even drove me to the hospital to take a COVID test on my last night. They couldn’t have done more to help me and I really appreciated it. I would definitely stay here again if I returned to Datong.
