I was pleasantly surprised by the experience, especially considering the price point. Here's a breakdown:
Pros:
- **Room Size**: Much more spacious compared to most hotels in Hong Kong, which was a big relief.
- **Comfort**: The bed is on the firm side, but the pillows are incredibly soft, and the duvet felt new and fluffy, making for a comfortable sleep.
- **Air Conditioning**: Worked perfectly, keeping the room cool and pleasant.
- **Amenities**: The room was well-equipped with a toothbrush, comb, shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, a water heater, a small wardrobe, a table and chair, and a hair dryer.
- **Location**: Very close to a bus stop, making it easy to get around. Also, there are plenty of food options nearby, including convenient stores and non-halal food stalls (for those interested) .
Cons:
- **Toilet Size**: The toilet is quite small, designed for an average Asian build. If you’re taller or of European size, it might be a bit cramped—you may even need to bend your knees in certain positions.
### Additional Notes for Muslim Travelers:
If you're looking for halal food, I highly recommend visiting **Indonesia Warong Amar Berkah**, a bus ride with fewer stops and few meters from the station you'll find the shop snuggle between pastry shops. The food there is delicious and a must-try, worth the price!
Overall, **Pensão Elegante** offers great value for its price, with a strategic location and good amenities. Just be prepared for the small toilet and firm bed! Would definitely stay here again for a budget-friendly trip.
This was an unexpected great deal for my stay in Macau, as it was the cheapest price even if the check-in date is on the next day. Locationwise it is about 5-10 minutes walk to Senado Square and further 5 minutes to St. Paul’s Ruins which is tolerable. The room provided for a single person is already huge and smart that it automatically switches on the lights and aircon upon entry. Basic necessities are provided and are of high class for its size. Free sample cookies too is also given which makes me feel welcome in Macau. Bed is very soft compared to nearby hotels which helped me sleep well. I enjoyed my short stay here overall and will consider this again on my next visit.
This hotel offers a great value but some of the staff are a little bit cold, however some of them were very sweet and helped me find a taxi so I had to give the service 5 stars. Wifi was terribly frustrating, definitely don’t book this place if you need reliable wifi. Location is good except for the fact that taxis can't reach it and you have to go so far to call a taxi or catch a bus. As a pedestrian for just exploring nearby it's a great location but for arriving and departing it was very inconvenient. All in all, a good choice. It is very clean and comfortable.
Located very near to the Inner Harbour Terminal. From airport, I took the bus no. 26, or MT4 to Terminal Maritomo De Passageiros Do Porto Interior which might roughly takes up to an hour ride. Nice location. There is a local groceries nearby and just next to MS Blossom Cafe. During night time near the 7-11, there is also one traditional dessert stall called 蘭姐甜品小食 you can try!
The hotel is in a very good location and the price isn't bad (given the high hotel prices in macau). The sleeping area isn't bad, but the bathroom is quite small, especially if you try to exit the bathroom from the shower, there's a high chance you're gonna touch the toilet. It's not very clean, but it's doable
Kudos and Thankful to Ms Chez, Front desk staff, luckily she is pinay and we never had a hard time communicating. She was very helpful and kind to us and she even provided us coins/change to use for the bus going to HZM. Overall great stay.
The place was great. Decent and affordable hotel room for a stay in Macau. The room was clean and maintained. They provide toiletries and water at the front desk.
Air-condition room with kettle, dryer and heater available.
Double bed room, with cabinet and working table.
Would recommend this hotel for your stay since it is
Near senado square, a 6 minute walk from the hotel. 8 min walk going to Ruins of St. Paul and 10 min walk going to grand lisboa hotel where you can ride free shuttle buses going to other casinos and mall especially in studio city, parisian, venecian, and londoner.
Thank You so much again Maam Chez.
The hotel was so artistic outside and inside was so beautiful. The staff was so friendly that they gave us free real rose , bottled water and sunset ticket in their hotel.
The room was so cozy and clean and its smells amazing. And I loved their panasonic hair dryer.
Even tho the price was cheap but the hotel quality its very good! I really recommend this hotel!
Located just off the main drag, with with evening foodstalls at the hotel's doorstep. Rather basic, old school furniture & decoration, but clean. Kettle, bottle of water, hairdryer, TV and great in-room WiFi connection is okay theres no fridge. Bed was a bit hard.Well located, within easy walking distance of the Fort & other historic buildings. Windowless room had quite a ‘run down’ feel. Noise from outside common lift corridor carried into the room.i caught a guest smokes in the corridor and i can smell it inside the room i called the front desk and theres no action on it.hallway is creepy too but the price is budget friendly and no deposit required.
I have read a lot of reviews in Chinese before making the final reservation. It proves that all the positive reviews are genuine.
The hotel has been renovated past few years and style is clean and minimalist. No extra decor except the wall showing the London bridge behind the head board.
The only problem for us is trying to locate the hotel as it is in some small side streets. We need to ask the locals to get directions.
Perfect location! I loved exploring the area.
Walking distance to most of the main sites (all the famous churches, Ruins of St Paul’s, Grand Lisboa, etc.). About 20-30 minutes by foot to Barra tram station, which is also where A Ma Temple is. The weekend night market is just around the corner.
Small hotel with friendly staff and free tea in the lobby 24-hours. If you are looking for a hotel with entertainment & activities or restaurants & bars inside this is not for you, but if you just want a comfortable place to sleep in the best area for sightseeing, then I highly recommend it. I really liked returning to my cozy room every night, looking down at the local shops, and watching a move on the TV.

MMs. VSThe front desk named Jose was to be our “kababayan” was so kind, he lets us in earlier than their check-in time happened to be the room was ready but their normal check-in time would be @3pm. Thank you so much “Jose” for your kindness. I would highly recommended this place when it comes to their cleanliness and very accommodating employees. It is a 1 double bed room. The room was big, cleaned and very comfortable. The bathroom is so clean and pretty big. We will definitely come back here. Keep up the good work guys especially to our “kababayan”. Thank you!!!

LLonely JournalistGI is just like an Observation Deck cos in front of hotel without any taller buildings or towers as an obstacle giving 180 degree viewing of Macao city's view with Mong-Ha Fortz in centre, both day n night r so enjoyable n beautiful when stayed at room watching out, Amazing.
SSunsanee TulyaWhy this hotel did not receive 5 rating
I stayed at the IFU hotel without much expectation, as I saw that the hotel's rating was not very high. However, I found that this hotel was really great, whether it's the location, the room, the staff, or the service. The room was spacious and clean, and the bathroom was small but looked nice. The only downside of the bathroom was that the curtain separating the wet zone and the dry zone was too short, so it couldn’t prevent the water from splashing, making the whole bathroom wet. What impressed me the most was the staff, who were very friendly and gave great recommendations. My mother forgot her ring in the room, and the staff notified us right away. I will definitely stay here again when I visit Macau next time.
P.s. In this picture are the staff, me, and my mother.
CCharlotte Kim BoraGreat Location & Value for Money
The hotel is ideally located, close to key attractions and within walking distance to many places. It's convenient, with affordable transportation options like a 6 MOP bus ride. Nearby, you’ll find the delicious 'A Vencedora 1918 restaurant' and a supermarket. The hotel doesn’t provide complimentary water, but it’s easy to buy for a reasonable price.
However, the staff member (male staff member wearing glasses) on the night shift seemed a bit unfriendly and didn't display much service-mindedness, This could be due to him working the night shift. During check-in, I was asked for both my passport and visa paper, which I provided for verification. The hotel has a no-smoking policy, but there was a strong smell of smoke, especially on the 4th and 6th floors. However, the smell dissipated after opening the window for ventilation. Since the weather was cool, leaving the window open didn’t bother me much. The room and bathroom were good, with basic amenities, but housekeeping didn’t change the bed linens daily.
Despite these issues, the location is excellent, and the hotel offers great value for money, especially with its proximity to the Grand Lisboa Casino and easy access to the airport via shuttle bus.
Ssoloaus1st day not good tv not working, hair blower not working they managed found something not right they changed new room all good this time normal nothing happened apart from that room is reasonable only problem is when talking I believed next door or outside can hear it
GggjdlpVery close to the main attraction of Macau - Santo Antonio. The room is clean and cozy, has everything you need. The main attractions are within walking distance, you can go to the casino by bus. Nice and helpful staff. There are many places to eat nearby. Suitable for all travelers and not only
GGuest UserStaff were helpful. Despite initial worry, it was easy to catch a taxi from here even early in the morning. For the price this place is ok, only if you can put up with noise from traffic and walkway. The worst part was the cigarette smell that comes through the bathroom ventilation from other rooms during the day when we were away and even in the middle of the night. The whole room was filled with cigarette smell which was terrible. Should keep the ventilator (bathroom light) running all the time.
