safe for solo travelers and location wise near on the Southern Cross Station where I had my Skybus going to the airport, You can cook your own food there so I save a lot from buying foods from restaurants
Wonderful, warm and comfortable cabin..... heated pool in winter was a great surprise for the children.
We left something behind and the staff promptly contacted us and then held on to it until we could make it back to collect. Much appreciated.
Highly recommend!
It is a hotel run by a gentleman named Mark in his own home. It's a bit like our domestic B&Bs. He and his daughter lived in the house at the back. When we stayed that day, he also burned a fireplace with wood, which was very warm. There is also a very cute dog at home. Ah, we bought various vegetables in the supermarket and cooked a pasta at our place. Mark provided pots and pans, all available.
Booked late but was surprised with the unit. Queen bed plus sofa bed with full kitchen including fridge and stove with pots and dishes. Bathroom was large as well. Room was extremely clean. Bathroom shower had great pressure. Make for a very pleasant shower
Address - Good location with many restaurants within walking distance
Environment/Facilities - Hotel facilities are clean
The owner Michael is very friendly and provides nearby tour routes

The tent room is great, you can experience a different life, and it is right next to the beach, you can watch the sunset and sunrise. The only thing is that it is a bit shaky at night due to the strong wind, but it is actually very safe. The room is also very warm, and the fireplace feels great. How much is the room? It is very clean

AAnonymous UserExcellent location for a stop by along the ocean road, 15 minutes drive to Apollo bay, quiet little property located at the foot of mountain and facing the sea, with fantastic ocean view and interesting rock and sand beach
The staff were very helpful and friendly and the room of bay view is spacious with a small sitting room and all necessary utensils
People just need to bring necessary food and drink to cook for themselves as there is a bit distance from the town center
A little advice though: please provide air-conditioner for the accommodations as it’s pretty hot in summer in the room. It’s not comfortable and the guest cannot sleep well in the summer heat
丁丁The guy at the front desk is very good, my English is not good, he very enthusiastically recommended the surrounding food, drink and fun, and also helped me buy a fishing permit to catch crabs, and stay here next time.
KKiralee.DerrimanThis is a budget accomodation super close to southern cross station and very central to a lot of other locations. There is no reception and you have to call a number to be let in.
Downsides
1. No windows
2. Shower is hard to use and goes from extreme hot to extreme cold

SSIN TUNGThe manager was very nice, the hotel rooms are located at 2/F but he is willing to help with the luggage carry even without request.
The hotel location is fantastic, only 20-30 mins to Melbourne central (one tram only after you get the skybus from airport as well).
supermarket, restaurant, cafe, gelato shop around as well.
Clean, big room, nice toilet&restroom, nice kitchen, nice laundry.
Highly recommend that hotel, definitely my priority choice if I come to Melbourne again.
The only bad side is the room at 2/F that you have to carry your stuff up and down if you buy lots of things. And watch out especially in rainy day as it’s a metal stair.
BBarneyBrownReminiscent of English pubs and Australian country pubs. Perfect for a solo traveller needing somewhere for a night to restock and recharge.
Staff are can-do and will communicate everything you need to know without being invasive at all.
The pub is busy downstairs and with good reason. The menu is diverse enough for most appetites. The common room absorbs sound and sports channels on.
Sticks to basics and succeeds. Other guests clearly get it too as all shared areas are kept clean and safe without any need for posting rules everywhere.
Definitely on my Melbourne list.
MMarleen De kluizenaarI licked the rooms and it was nice to have separate bathrooms. Everything was great except the kitchen. This is of course due to other guests not cleaning up after themselves but in other hostels this is the same and I have never experienced it like this. I have a feeling that the cleaners only do a little bit so there is always one part of the kitchen/dinning area messy and gross. Other than that still would recommend because of the nice rooms and good breakfast (although again very messy).

MMark169Our trip to Bendigo was a last minute decision. The CBD and surrounding accommodation were booked out. Old Crown Motel across from the Town Hall in Hargreaves street had one room so we took it. We were pleasantly surprised, our room was renovated and spotless, had a nice bathroom and opening window. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The building has high ceiling throughout, huge original staircase (though carpeted) and is in the heart of the CBD.
