The location is incredibly convenient; it's just a 2-minute walk from the subway station to the hotel. What really stands out is the value for money – paying a little over 200 a night during the off-season is unbeatable. I honestly thought a hotel at this price point would have tiny rooms, but there's even a hallway, which is perfect for luggage. Super duper budget friendly.

Clean and good location. It's my first time in Osaka. Mostly I just walk to most of the tourist spots. There are multiple train stations within walking distance. Also, the best is that, the limousine bus from the airport does make a stop nearby this hotel. The room is spacious. Multiple convenience stores around. The 7 Eleven is just right next to the hotel. Awesome. Highly recommend.

Located in a quiet part of downtown Osaka, this hotel is very close to Shinsaibashi and Osaka Castle. There's a drugstore right next door and the subway station is just 150 meters away. The room is small, so you won't be able to spread out your luggage. The breakfast is a simple set menu, but it's great that it's available until 11 AM, so you don't have to rush to eat early.

This is my go-to hotel whenever I'm in Osaka for business. It's incredibly convenient, located right outside Exit 2 of Minamimorimachi Station. The breakfast is plentiful and delicious, and there are plenty of dining options on the surrounding streets. Hankyu Department Store and Yodobashi are just about a 15-minute walk away. I'm a big fan of this room layout, especially since the toilet, shower, and vanity area are completely separate. This makes it ideal for families.

The location is pretty good; there's a subway station right outside, and several convenience stores nearby. There's even a duty-free shop on the street just in front of the hotel, and a few other nice small shops in the vicinity. It's quiet at night, and I guess the surrounding area is mostly office buildings because I saw a lot of office workers in the morning. The room is small, and so is the bed; it's barely enough for two people, and once you open a suitcase, there's pretty much no space left. However, it's a small but complete package. The room has everything you need, and there's also a laundry room. On the first day of check-in, I met a guy who spoke Chinese, but I didn't encounter anyone else who did after that. The picture shows the street nearby on a Sunday.

Review of Villa Fontaine Grand Osaka Umeda
I stayed at Villa Fontaine Grand Osaka Umeda and found it to be a convenient and comfortable choice for exploring Osaka. The hotel is within walking distance of several train stations, including Osaka Station, which made travelling around the city very easy. The area is surrounded by plenty of restaurants and convenience stores, so food and essentials were always within reach.
The hotel offers a complimentary spa for guests, though we didn’t get a chance to try it. The staff were friendly and able to communicate in English, which made the stay smoother. Check-in and check-out were done through machines, with staff available if assistance was needed.
Overall, Villa Fontaine Grand Osaka Umeda provides great accessibility and a pleasant stay, ideal for travellers who want convenience and helpful service.

The hotel is located right by the main road, and there's a subway entrance just a few dozen meters away, which is super convenient! On the first floor, you can pick up complimentary disposable toiletries like facial cleanser and lotion, which is a really thoughtful touch. The room was clean and tidy, and I loved that I didn't need a converter for my phone charger—just plug it in directly, very user-friendly! The bed's firmness was just right, making for an overall comfortable stay. There's a free snack and drink area on the top floor with an elegant and quiet atmosphere that I really enjoyed! I'd definitely choose this hotel again if I have the chance!

The hotel is quite large, split into East and West buildings. Its location is excellent – not as noisy as Shinsaibashi or Umeda, yet still convenient for getting everywhere. It’s a quiet oasis amidst the hustle and bustle. It's a mere 200 meters from Yotsubashi Line's Higobashi Station and 600 meters from Midosuji Line's Yodoyabashi Station. There are plenty of dining options nearby, as well as the National Museum of Art, the Osaka Science Museum, and the Kosetsu Museum of Art. There's also a Lawson convenience store downstairs. The rooms are small, but that's typical for Japan, especially given the affordable price. The rooftop onsen is fantastic; it's free and perfect for relaxing after a long day. The only downside is the lack of housekeeping. I stayed for 9 days, and my room wasn't cleaned once. I had to hang a bag for clean towels outside my door daily and leave dirty towels and trash there for collection. Toothbrushes and toothpaste had to be picked up from the front desk every day, and they wouldn't give you extras.

Clean and quiet hotel located in Kitashinchi, Osaka.
The rooms are compact but well-maintained. Great location with easy access to trains and main attractions.
Staff were friendly and there’s even free coffee in the lobby.
If you don’t mind the small space, it’s a great value stay!

Great
MMeitounaohahahahaThis is one of the few hotels in Japan with a 12 PM checkout, which is great. There's a Christmas tree downstairs that adds a lovely atmosphere. We went to the theme park on our second day, and this hotel is the closest one to it – the entrance is right downstairs! Food options are also very convenient. I highly recommend the fried beef cutlet, it was absolutely delicious! Our clothes got soaked on the Jurassic ride, which was totally unexpected, but thankfully we could just pop back to the hotel to change. You just need to get a stamp from the staff at the entrance to re-enter the park. I hope to bring my kids here next time and will definitely stay here again!
DDingmaomisThe room design was modern and minimalist, making excellent use of the space, and it was spotless. My only minor complaint was that the air conditioning unit was a bit noisy, which unfortunately led to a restless first night. I particularly enjoyed the outdoor lounge on the ground floor. The Western-style set breakfast was also quite delicious. Overall, I was very satisfied with this hotel.

Very Good
GGuest UserDecent location, close to dotonbori but not stuck in the middle of it. Staff were friendly. Room was decent size, enough to store and open suitcases if needed. Room was clean except toilet seat had something sticky on it needed wiping off with soap. Bed was comfy. Door Locks were a bit awkward/noisy (tap with your hand, then with the card to unlock). Things like toothbrushes and Razer's etc were available in the lobby
Konbinis close by, main Namba train station about 15 mins walk, otherwise closer station was about 5 minutes walk.

AAnonymous UserOverall, it's quite clean and tidy. The biggest drawback is not being able to store luggage, making it more suitable for those who understand Japanese.
Facilities: Most areas of the onsen were under renovation when I visited.
Hygiene: Daily cleaning, but bed linens are changed every three days.
Breakfast quality is good.
MM7769****The hotel is very close to Rinku Town station on the Nankai Line, but the station exit leads to the hotel's second floor. You'll need to take an elevator down to the first floor to check in at the front desk. The hotel offers a free shuttle service to the airport, but I noticed the schedule is only for morning departures. However, if you're not catching an early flight, you'd probably choose to stay in Umeda or Shinsaibashi anyway. That said, this location is also very convenient for shopping in Umeda or Shinsaibashi, and the room rates are quite reasonable.
CCeres NgThis hotel is truly splendid! From the moment we arrived, a staff member guided us to the reception. Many staff speak English and are very helpful, which makes check-in smooth and comfortable for tourists.
The 2nd floor has a great common area with a pool table, gym, smoking room, and plenty of tables, chairs, and sofas where you can relax or hang out. There’s also a wide range of useful items available for guests to borrow — hair curlers, nail clippers, charging cables and more.
The location is unbeatable too. A convenience store is right outside the hotel, and it’s just a short walk to both Shinsaibashi and Dotonbori — perfect for shopping and food.
One thing I really appreciated: the room fridge doesn’t have a freezer, and I bought ice cream. The staff kindly stored it in their freezer and gave me a tag to collect it anytime. So thoughtful!
Other helpful facilities:
• Luggage weighing scale on the 1st floor
• Microwave, forks, spoons, and wet tissues available downstairs
• Daily mineral water and towel replenishment
We booked a family room and loved the convenience of having a washing machine inside — we washed and dried clothes every day! The shower and toilet are also separated, which is wonderful for families.
The amenities are top-notch too — hairdryer, curler, and shower head are all from Refa. Very premium and nice to use!
Overall, we had such a comfortable and happy stay. We absolutely loved it here and would definitely come back again! ❤️
KkindaleiThe location is superb! It's right opposite Grand Front Plaza, which has many unique shops. The iconic Hankyu department store is also nearby. Umeda Station and Osaka Station are both within a 10-minute walk, and there are plenty of dining options around. The breakfast at the cafe next to the lobby was also great and very good value for money.
The hotel's front desk staff were all very pleasant, except for one Chinese staff member. I asked her to help me call and book a restaurant, but she insisted on speaking English to me, even though her English wasn't very good. First, she said I couldn't use the front desk phone for external calls and had to use my own mobile. When I agreed, she then went on and on, basically saying I absolutely needed a Japanese phone number for her to make the reservation. Her attitude was quite aggressive, even worse than the Japanese staff. I just turned around and booked it myself online… Thumbs down.
Tteweyou will alpreciate a lot the central location this hotel is, directly connected to JR OSAKA and Osaka-Umeda station is a big help for families travelling with stroller and with Osaka massive trail network it may get confusing, but a simple trick is just follow the sign “JR OSAKA” station and once u’re there follow the sign “South-Gate building” and u’ll see Daimaru and Hotel Granvia osaka, as simple as that, dont be intimidated by the gigantic Osaka rail system. other than that rooms are pretty standard but cant complain for the fair price i got especially its for the christmas week i spent here. there are literally 6 or 7 shopping mall within 500m from this hotel and its mad ess, you’ll even get sick of shopping etc. convenience store wise, there’s also plenty downstair at level 1. oh yes, check in is at level 19 by the way
HHok Ming KarlFrom the photos provided by the hotel, I thought the room would be small, but after checking in, I found that it was big enough to open four suitcases at the same time, and the bathroom was also spacious with a large bathtub. The lobby has a nice smell, which makes people feel relaxed. The staff is also very friendly and polite. The hotel is very friendly to self-driving tours. There is already a parking lot next to it, and the price of overnight parking is very cost-effective.
