2-Star Hotels in Canterbury, New Zealand

Located near the fun Regent;s street with lots of restaurants and bars, near the convention center and cathedral, but a bit farther away from the Riverside market etc (10-15 min walk). Staff is friendly, kitchen is really big and has everything, with lost of fridges and storage space. I booked the room for myself, it was very comfortable. They provide big towels, which is nice. No hair drier though. Right next to bus stop to airport.

Great location right by a beautiful lake — perfect for the scenery. The accommodation was generally clean and comfortable, and the bathroom in particular was well-maintained. The kitchen is well-equipped with plenty of pots, pans, cutlery, crockery, a toaster, and microwave. However, some of the cookware could use a proper clean as there is burnt residue on them, and a few of the stovetops don’t work reliably. Cleanliness could be improved overall, as there was some rubbish under the bed. The walls are quite thin, so noise can be an issue — you can hear people walking up and down, as well as doors banging from guests coming in and out of rooms. It’s worth noting that guests need to bring their own towels, make their own beds on arrival, and strip the sheets before leaving. Overall, a pleasant stay in a fantastic location, with just a few practical improvements needed.

An absolutely fabulous place. Really playing on yhe history of the building all while still giving privacy, security and fun. Location is super close to a variety of restaurants, cafes and take-away stores, and a general store for those forgotten small items. Parking is free but it's a first come, first serve scenario. I loved staying there and highly recommend to any traveler looking for a funky and reasonably priced accommodation.

I had a very good stay at Mackenzie Motels. The room was very clean, cozy, and comfortable — perfect for a quiet night’s rest. Fairlie is a peaceful little town, and the location was really convenient with a supermarket and laundry shop nearby. Highly recommend for anyone passing through or staying in the area!

Suitable for taking children. Our room sleeps 5 people, 3 single beds and 1 double bed. There is a kitchen in the room, the pots and pans are all complete, and there is a refrigerator for your own simple dishes. The hotel is very close to the city centre. Remember to bring toiletries, shower gel, shampoo.

Self checkin was easy and simple. No fuss. We arrived a couple hours early. Phoned the Mob No @ unmanned reception desk. Mgr gave us access code to our unit. Lovely cleaning lady arrived to complete finishing touches cleaning our unit but not expecting we had arrived early. No problem at all. Finished off her task. Our self contained unit no.2 was clean, warm & fresh. Parking space for our vehicle was great. Great value for money. Will definitely recommend staying there. Cheers

Location is great, just a few minutes from famous spots in the CBD. Easy check-in and staff are friendly. The unit could use an upgrade, the furniture and fixtures have wear and tear that comes with age. The unit is also cold, not enough heating.

Lovely location, just a few minutes walk to town. Close by restaurants and shops. Easy check-in process, and the place is clean. It's slightly cold though, one of the hot showers is not hot enough. Otherwise, we had a great time staying here. Tekapo is lovely in the winter!

This is the worst hotel on this trip to New Zealand: There were flies in the room, and I fought for a long time before I was killed. 2 Towels are already like this and still hanging out? What does it mean to put a bottle of hand sanitizer in the shower? The description of the 4th description is that there is a 20-square-meter suite, which is actually smaller than the average standard room. There is a wall outside the window, and I can't see anything. I thought I could see the sea. It was my fault not to study it carefully. 5 I lost the power converter before, so all the electronic equipment was out of power after arriving at the hotel. The front desk was off work. Contact Trip.com Ask if you can borrow a converter or tell where you can have usb or typeC. There is no answer. No need to borrow it. Use, It caused me to completely lose contact this night until the next day. Of course, I suggest that the hotel can prepare a little bit of a converter for my similar guests to borrow. Isn't it a service spirit? 6 Room sound insulation is very poor, I don't know if it is upstairs or where the children are about to collapse, let alone fall asleep. I didn't sleep until everyone was quiet in the middle of the night.
