The Kurashiki Bikan Historical Quarter is a bit like the Jiangnan water towns of China, with its fresh and artistic atmosphere, weeping willows, boat trips, and many interesting little shops. I chose this hostel in Kurashiki for a night on my way to Okayama, and it was a wise choice. Kurashiki's beauty deserves to be savored, and this affordable and unique hostel added to my wonderful memories. From JR Kurashiki Station, walk towards the Bikan Historical Quarter, cross the shopping street, and it's about a 15-minute walk to the hostel.
The hostel is located in an alleyway near the main tourist area, with a simple, eye-catching white exterior. The staff were cheerful and welcoming. They showed me to my room and explained the location of the bathing facilities. Although I don't speak Japanese and my English is limited, their kindness and patience were truly wonderful.
The hostel has a bar on the first floor, and the next building is the accommodation. I stayed in bed 215C, which was clean and comfortable. There is a women's bathroom on this floor, with three shower rooms. The showers had good water pressure and were well-equipped with fresh towels and bath linens. I purchased a sandwich breakfast for the next day at the front desk for 800 yen. The breakfast time is from 6:30 to 9:30. The two flavors of sandwiches are very delicious, and there is also black tea and yogurt, which I like very much.
Dinner and breakfast were delicious.
It's a little far from the Yugo Onsen day-trip facility, but since I was planning to relax at the hotel, I made the right choice. I was able to relax in the hot springs. The open-air bath was also great.
This home looks a bit old, but it is clean and tidy. The faucets are all old-fashioned rotating. Maybe it is called a green hotel. The bathroom has no power socket. The hair is blowing. There is a writing desk. The room layout is quite good. There is a small space just to put the box, so the room is not small. It is also very close to the business district, and there is a 4-5 minutes walk. There is no breakfast, but there is a breakfast coupon at the store.
The location is nice. Although, I got a smaller room than I saw in the pictures, I couldn’t stand up straight because the roof was so low. Also, there was a short went to another room and I had to craft a curtain because the light from the other room shined straight on my face and you can’t sleep the other way around because there’s not enough room. Furthermore, even though I left my keys for the cleaners, they just left the clean towels and sheets outside my room and told me to do it and the key was left in my door. But the showers and toilets was nice and you have privacy which is nice.
I came to Okayama by car, but there are Aeon, convenience stores, Morinomachi Plaza, Yakiniku and izakaya nearby. Convenience is very good.
The staff was also interested in the fact that the newcomer was training, but there was no problem and the education was well done.
However, since the parking lot is early, you need to be careful there!
This hotel is absolutely fantastic!
Not only is the environment clean and bright, but the staff are also incredibly friendly. More importantly, they've been running a hotel business for nearly 150 years, operating with genuine dedication to serving their customers.
You can enjoy complimentary drinks and popsicles all day, and for just 100 yen you can get a delicious omelet rice dish or a large portion of pasta!
This hotel also has its own unique mascot and related merchandise, such as shopping bags and pins, which are truly amazing! The best part is, the prices are incredibly cheap—it's practically free!
I highly recommend Hotel Maira when visiting Okayama!

It was a Japanese style inn that valued the old-fashioned taste, and it was just blissful at the time of the evening.
The first thing that fascinated me was the fried kite of sashimi. The chewy flavor spread from the crisp and light clothing, and I was happy from the first bite. On the table, the kasanabe is quietly lit, and the scent of the soup stock rises little by little, and even the waiting time changes to fun. If I glanced at the fluffy cheeks, the coolness of summer spreads to my mouth and seems to unlock my heart.
The grilled Iberian pork is fragrant, full of sweetness and sweetness as you chew, and the cold chawanmushi is gentle enough to melt into your tongue. The colorful sashimi is as beautiful as a small painting on a vessel, and I felt the grace of the sea every time I tasted it.
And the chestnut-cooked rice. The soft and rising scent had a warm feeling that preceded the signs of autumn, and it gently filled the afterglow of the meal.
The rooftop open-air bath that soaks in the starry sky was also exceptional, and it was a luxurious night to relax both in cooking and hot springs.
It's very convenient to stay here when I transfer to an early flight from Narita Airport to Shikoku. It's a small area but I don't feel cramped. I'm quite satisfied with it. Disposable toothbrushes and slippers are provided. There were few people when I stayed there, so it was quite quiet.

Mmin82827It is very close to Xinkangshi Station, ten minutes walk from the beautiful area, and there is a convenience store downstairs. The beautiful shopping street is within walking distance, and there is a store in Snoopy. The first floor of the hotel can simply get breakfast, which is very convenient.
GGuest UserSmall chill hotel, 4min from the train station, free dinner in there evening.
Booked this place because I wanted to go see the nearby bridge view - the hotel had great last minute availability and a free dinner after a day of sightseeing was a welcome surprise!
I went to Kurashiki next morning and the direct bus leaves from a bus stop 2min away from the hotel - super convenient.

LLuotuo#positive #I was happy with the Bed comfort level, Room layout; It is within walking distance from Kurashiki Station and across the road from the railway area. The room is spacious, with a double sofa and coffee table. It is separated into wet and dry areas. The bathroom is so large that it reminds people of a public bathroom. Not only is there a large bathtub, but the bathing part is outside the bathtub. This is only seen in Japanese hotel rooms, which are generally small in size. The hotel reception is on the second floor. The male owner is about 40 years old, and there is an old mother who looks like him. Not long after checking in, I received a call from the store, asking what time breakfast would be delivered the next day, or eggs, etc. It was said to be delivered at 8 o'clock, and the old mother brought the plate at 7:50.
Luggage storage is accepted, which made it convenient for us to walk to see ”Kurashiki Beauty”.
GGuest UserIt was close to perfect with all the necessary amenities and friendly front desk staff.
There are some vibrations from passing trucks as others have mentioned, but it wasn’t too bad, didn’t bother me much.
Right next to a supermarket.
