This type room is big & very comfortable for 2 persons with big luggages, the room is very clean but we need to made bed by ourselves. Staff is very nice and can suggest the good recommendations for nearby onsen and good restaurants around there. The common space and kitchen room is also good, they are provide many type of drinking with ice for us.
This hotel is located very close to beach, Beppu tower and ‘Don Quijote’. Love it.
If you have plan to go to Beppu, it is very good choice ! Recommended!!

This is a trip to Japan after 6 years. Instead of choosing the bustling cities of Honshu, I chose Kitakyushu and arranged a two-day one-night trip to Beppu. I booked this little-known hot spring hotel.
An unexpected accommodation experience. The front desk おばさん can speak English. When checking in, he helped me book the time for the private bath. It was very good! The environment and facilities of the hotel are very clean and hygienic. Even if you travel alone, it is very friendly. The single room is also very spacious. It is even equipped with a massage chair. After taking a private bath, a massage is really quite comfortable~~
When booking a hot spring hotel, you must book their one-night stay and two meals at the same time. The set meal experience for one morning and one night is also quite good. Although there is no big fish, meat, and fresh seafood for dinner, the content of Kaiseki cuisine is also not small, and it is very delicious. There is no dish that is not good. Breakfast is also a set meal. Although eating rice early in the morning is not in line with the Chinese people's dining habits, the rice there is delicious. Even I, who never eat breakfast, finished it all. It is not easy!
Remember, when you travel to small places in Japan in the future, there is no need to squeeze into those popular hotels that are crowded with tour groups or recommended on social software. Sometimes, small happiness and surprises can be obtained in such unknown small hotels!
The building is old, but it is clean and the receptionist was friendly. It is close to the station and we were able to use the hot spring nearby, so we had a pleasant stay.

The hotel is extremely close to the train station, with two convenience stores nearby, so you won't have to worry about late-night hunger. It operates on a self-check-in system. Please note that the hotel does not automatically email check-in codes. You'll need to notify them in advance or call the staff (via internet phone) upon arrival to get your code.
Since I was staying overnight, I prepared everything! The hot spring felt so good, I was able to relax in the lounge and kitchen, and the futon in my room was fluffy, so I had a really fun time.
I had a great stay. The owners are super lovely and will go out of their way to help you.
I highly recommend the breakfast and dinners, they were great for big days of hiking and convenient as there aren't too many food options up in the mountains.
The train carriages have a large sleeping area and a connected large room to store your things or just to hang out. Yes the pillows are like a bag of rice but it's part of the experience!
Great place to stay and great value.

The second floor is the bathroom / male toilet

When I made a reservation, there was a lot of difference between the exterior photo and the real exterior, but I thought it was an old country house, so it was understandable. After check-in, I was assigned a spacious room, but the interior looked neat and the tatami mats looked new, but the hair and dust on the floor seemed almost unclean. I cleaned it myself.
The dinner was delicious and the hot spring bath was small.
The next day, breakfast was well prepared and luggage was kept until the time of use of Hyotan Onsen.
Hotel location is about 7 minutes walk from Beppu, two floors across the road, close to the sea, Japanese-style tatami mattress space is relatively large, with TV, the front desk owner is very warm, said to be 16:00 When we went in advance, we checked in, microwave ovens, refrigerators, toilets, several small separate baths, and said that we would use a few bottles in advance. The boss also sent a bottle of beer at night, and it was OK.

The breakfast was a Japanese set meal and was delicious.
FFredAbsolutely understated hotel style onsen resort with fully renovated facilities, decently sized rooms, clean onsen springs and most important of all, nice and sociable hotel staff with pleasant smiles.
Bath tub with gorgeous mountain view will surely give you an unforgettable memory and the balcony with greenery mountain will give the tranquility and beauty of nature.
Buffet style breakfast and dinner served with ample choices of delicious and quality foods. The ice cream is a must try!
Last but not least, the relaxation room is full of fun for you to regain balance of body and mind after the taste of different onsen. A walk to the nearby riverside is a good day time activity!
We will come again.

LLi-ChenThe tatami room was clean and spacious. Walls are a bit thin. I could actually hear sound from next door or people walking around the hallway. The futon mattress was quite thin and the pillow too hard for me. Also, I found that the filters of humidifier were so dirty that I washed them myself.
Toilets are shared by all guests but only one is for female (two for male). When I brushed my teeth and washed my face, I had to let the water run for a long time before hot water came out.
¥150 of hot spring tax was collected upon check-in, of which I was not informed in advance.

GGuest UserThe people working here are so nice! I was able to drop my luggage off early before check-in which was sooo appreciated. It’s in a quiet little neighborhood close to the train station. It seems like a lot of the attractions are in Kannawa though which was a 30 minute bus ride away. The rooms were straightforward- one bathroom in the room, not as modern but clean. They provide slippers for your room, and there are privacy curtains around the bed. There’s a kitchen downstairs available to use.

AAnonymous UserA very cozy B&B, very clean and hygienic. It feels amazing when you enter the room.
The landlady is very considerate and even though she doesn't understand the language, she tries her best to help solve the problem.
The only ”disadvantage” is that the location is a little inconvenient, but for this reason, staying here is very peaceful and feels like you are far away from the hustle and bustle.
I really like the independent hot spring time there. Each room can have independent time in the hot spring. Each time period is 50 minutes. It is very suitable for tourists who want to experience hot springs but don’t want to spend a lot of money to stay in a hot spring hotel.
