This hotel is newly opened and quite clean, but it is on the street, and it is the main street. It is too noisy. The sound of cars and motorcycles running non-stop, and the sound of horns, can be heard very clearly late at night. My heart is almost sick. I can't sleep all night. It's so painful! I originally booked two nights, but if I stay for another night, my heart will have problems. I went to negotiate the check-out at 6 o'clock the next morning, and found Ctrip again, and they agreed to check out! Because this homestay does not include breakfast, we booked breakfast when we checked in, and paid two breakfasts extra, two omelets, two plates of fruit, a few slices of bread and jam, no drinks, no coffee, 4200 rupees, I don't know why this price is so expensive! ? Is it because we canceled one day or the breakfast price is so unreasonable?
In addition, the waiters are not bad, but the location and breakfast of this homestay are really not recommended!
Facilities: General, the room is relatively small
Hygiene: OK
Environment: too noisy, facing the street, can't sleep
Service: good, breakfast is not good
The service attitude of the store is very good (it should be a store independently operated by the owner). After arriving at the store, I was given a glass of watermelon juice (free). There is a small terrace outside the room. The most abundant thing is breakfast. The photos and scenes on Ctrip have a relatively high degree of restoration.
Hotel was a bit hard to find but when you arrive the staff and owner were incredibly friendly and goes above and beyond. Loved our time there, be sure to have the breakfast different spread everyday with local ingredients. Highly recommend.
One of the best hotels I lived in Sri Lanka, running by a local family. They are very nice and hospitable and even provided very delicious local breakfast with wild honey and welcome coconut water. The room was a quite big with high ceiling, clean and all the stuffs were available. The hotel is in the closest location to climb the rock mountain called Pidurangala to view panorama view of Sigiri and sunrise and sunset and very close to Sigiri Lion Rock as well. The hotel can provide car and jeep services. Jeep safari to see a herd and other wild animals were quite an experience to feel the wilderness and nature. This hotel is 100% recommended when you are in Sigiriya.
If you need a car service for city to city travel, here is the service provider, called Danu and his contact number is (0774) 642 805. He is a nice and humble guy with certified local guide. We got his service from Sigiriya to Kandy to Yalla to Colombo, the trip went very smooth and we are happy that we covered all the attractions places with his assistance. Highly recommended!!
The best hotel for breakfast on this trip, full english. Jetwing’s small villa has only three rooms, a housekeeper, the room is very large, it also has heating, it is very english style, you can go to the jetwing hotel for dinner, walk 5-10 minutes, 10 minutes away from the pink post office, 30 minutes away from the tea factory taxi.
Our stay in the villa yea fields was a real paradise.
It’s impossible to describe how peaceful it is, how relaxing and inspiring.
We have spent 2 most lovely days in this villa thanks to the genuine kindness of the hosts and villa’s situation. Located in the very middle of the tea fields, you can not get enough of this view.
Breakfast is very rich and carefully prepared, the room is spacious and clean. The hosts are the most wonderful people.
We even had a chance to have a private visit to the tea fields which was definitely the aim of our journey to Sri Lanka.
Highly recommend for your stay in the peace and unspoiled nature !

The front desk staff is very friendly, the room is clean and tidy, and the bed is very comfortable. I have a hard time falling asleep in strange places, but I can sleep comfortably here.
There is breakfast on the 7th floor, which is delicious! Very considerate. This is my first time to travel to Sri Lanka. I like Sri Lanka and the people here very much. I wish all the people in Sri Lanka good health and safety.
The hotel is really super! It is rather like a guest house the family is really very nice. We got a fresh coconut at the arrival for free. The rooms were very clean. You also cooked for us at a cheap price. The food was extremely delicious!!! And when we hadn't found a taxi they went to Trincomalee for little money. The only doomed thing is that there is no WiFi. Otherwise really top!!!
Great recommendation 😊❤️
Thank you!
Perfect location, right by the lake. The family was very kind and accommodating. I only stayed for one night but the dogs in the neighborhood could not stop barking all night. I couldn’t sleep at all. Maybe it was a one time thing but I was not very happy. Besides that, it’s a nice place.

The standout feature of The Coffee Bungalow is undoubtedly its staff, particularly Adrian, who went above and beyond to ensure our stay was enjoyable. Everyone we encountered was attentive and genuinely warm, making us feel well cared for. The food was another highlight—delicious and thoughtfully prepared. A particularly nice touch was when they packed us a complimentary to-go lunch for our train journey out of Kandy, which was a pleasant and unexpected gesture.
The Bad
The lack of air conditioning was a notable downside, especially given Kandy’s humidity. While the property has a charming colonial feel, the absence of a solid door between the bedroom and bathroom was an odd design choice. Although the toilet and shower do have louvered doors, privacy is somewhat compromised. Another issue was the challenging entry system—we found ourselves locked out one night, which was frustrating and inconvenient.
The Ugly
Unfortunately, the biggest drawback was the ant problem. While some level of bugs is to be expected in a tropical setting, the sheer number of ants, particularly in the bathroom but also in the bedroom, was hard to ignore. It definitely impacted our overall comfort.
Overall, The Coffee Bungalow has a lot of charm and some truly wonderful hospitality, but there are a few quirks and inconveniences that might not suit every traveler. If you’re prepared for a bit of rustic charm and can handle the lack of AC and privacy, the warm service and great food may make up for the downsides.
SSHAOPENGThe location of this hotel is a bit hard to find, but it was really unexpected after entering the hotel. The hotel staff is very good, there will be drinks and drinks, the dinner is really good, and then the breakfast will be prepared in advance in the morning. The only downside is that the room is small, but the scenery outside is very good.

GGuest Userhad pleasure of staying at this hotel, and I couldn't be more impressed with the level of service and hospitality we received. From the moment we arrived, the staff went above and beyond to ensure our stay was comfortable and memorable.
The team was incredibly helpful in arranging transportation and suggesting places to visit. They recommended we attend the Tooth Relic Procession and suggested us to visit a waterfall, which turned out to be the most breathtaking waterfall I've ever seen. Their local knowledge truly enhanced our experience.
When our cab dropped us off in the mid , the hotel staff immediately came to pick us up in tuk-tuk.
The staff was consistently polite and accommodating, making us feel welcome and valued throughout our stay. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a place where the staff genuinely cares about making your stay special. Thank you for the experience!
FFrancisco Gonzalez ManzanoJust a short walk from the bus stop, this gem of a guesthouse is hands down the best place to stay in Sri Lanka. The owner goes above and beyond to make you feel welcome, always offering help and thoughtful advice. He even arranged for a local tuk-tuk driver at a very reasonable price, ensuring I had the best experience exploring the area. Every afternoon, he would check in and offer a delightful cup of tea, making the stay feel extra special.
His wife’s cooking is an absolute highlight—breakfast was not just delicious but prepared with so much care, adding a homely touch to every meal. The room itself was super clean, big, and incredibly comfortable. From start to finish, they both made me feel completely at home. I can say this was the best accommodation I experienced during my time in Sri Lanka, and I recommend it to anyone looking for a truly memorable and comfortable stay.
NNhanWe got very nice experience when staying here 1 night. The room was perfect for our family of 3. We just had to pay for the 3rd person's breakfast.
The Logde located nearby the Lion rock and village, easy to find and go to the rock or the Gambulla city within 10min.
The host Isuru was very welcoming from the start and made sure that we had all that we needed. ( hot water, drinking water, towels, AC, fan). We also really appreciated Mr Alain, a french gentleman resident in the sameplace! The room also had all the necessary for us to not be bitten by insects (scents and more). There was also a room for the driver at a very resonnable price. However we found the wifi a little weak, but else everything was good.
In the surroundings it is peaceful, and we woke up to nice little sound of the nature and a well prepared typical srilankan breakfast and fruits! Delicious!
TToridesssThe room is large and clean with the strong air con. The staff are helpful and friendly. For the location, there are many restaurant nearby and there are many options that we can choose or ordering the food through Pickme.

GGuest UserThe hotel is ok for folks passing through town. It has the feel of a B&B but the service of a hotel. Staff was friendly. The room was clean but dimly lit. The bedding had some stains and was a bit tattered. The temp got pretty cold at night but that is just a warning to anyone traveling in Nuwara Eliya and not a reflection on the hotel.
I saw some of the other rooms they had and those were much better. We stayed in the Rose room, which they said was the delux room, but the other rooms looked much nicer.
Breakfast was nice. This is a no frills hotel. Not luxury but still pretty good.
GGuest UserThe hotel house is beautiful, with a lot of green plants. Our room is not big and it is a bit noisy facing the street. There was very loud music outside after 10 o'clock in the evening. I'm not sure if it is normal or accidental. The sound of traffic is also very obvious. The breakfast is rich and the environment is nice. The waiter was very nice, a little shy but with a warm smile. It is very close to attractions such as the Pink Post Office.
