The hotel located close to the beautiful lake, beach and Main express bus terminal. The Seoraksan National Park (mini) is quite close, you can take a bus from terminal stop and it takes around half and hour to get there.
Room - so spacious, even the bathroom complete with amenities like hair dryer, shower gel, shampoo, soap. I feel like it’s one room studio apartment that comes with fridge, washing machine too! Free water bottles that will be replenished everyday.
Service - the front people were so nice.
Other - GS25 is right next to hotel building (or in the building?) it’s literally ‘convenient’.
I’d consider to choose this hotel again when i visit Sokcho some other time :)
The room was clean, with good AC. The view from the balcony was stunning. In the evening we could enjoy the sound of the tide. The beach was right across the street.
There was no toothbrush in the room, which is a normal thing in Korea, I guess, so be ready for it. But there is a convenience store in the building, so it was not a big problem
I stayed here for one night after hiking with friends.
I turned up the heat in the ondol room, so I woke up feeling very dry, but refreshed!
The room was reasonably clean, but the hangers were too high, making it difficult to hang my clothes.
And there was something sticking out, either the door lock battery or the wire, under the door handle.
I booked two rooms, but they assigned me to different floors, which was a bit inconvenient.
The location and service were okay, but the limited on-site parking meant many large cars were parked in the compact car spaces.
Next time I visit Mindungsan, I'll definitely stay here for the affordable price!
The room itself was the same, and I woke up in the morning, pulled the curtains, and enjoyed the view.
Super value for money. No complaints.
Parking is valet with no extra to pay. DIY laundry keeps all clothes dry and cleaned for multiple days of exploration in beautiful Gangneung! Staff recommended good eating places for grilled pork and beef. Don’t miss the gimbaps!
Overall, the condition is clean and there is a lighthouse beach nearby, so it seems like a good place to go.
There is a parking fee, but you can park on the street nearby. I stayed on the 5th floor, and the wall was a view of the construction site, so it was actually nice!
I recommend going outside to see the sky or the sea, and if you are sensitive to noise, wear earplugs and sleep.
I didn't mind the noise from the accommodation itself, but I could hear the construction site noise from 8 in the morning, so it was a little annoying!
And be sure to visit the coffee shop and burger place nearby! They are delicious. ㅎㅎㅎㅎ Have a nice trip! 👍
It's a studio apartment with a small balcony overlooking the ocean. The self- check-in process is straightforward. The living room is clean. The bed mattress is firm and the pillows are comfortable.
The bathroom is clean with some good toiletries.
It has a nice, well-equipped kitchen.
Nice clean hotel across from a nice beach for surfing. I was initially disappointed to find the hotel was across a very busy road from the beach, but the hotel itself is quiet and the rooftop in the morning was a great way to take in the sunset. I might not book here again because of the busy road but the hotel is nice.
Our sightseeing taxi driver seemed to misunderstand something. He saw the elevator sign and told us to go to the 3rd floor. Since we don't speak Korean, we went up without questioning. At the 3rd-floor front desk, I showed the lady my pre-printed reservation voucher (which had both English and Korean versions), but she didn't seem to understand it. She then called another colleague and talked for a long time. Luckily, the colleague on the phone spoke English. After a long discussion, we finally realized that we had already booked a room, but the 3rd floor was for couple rentals, and check-in should be done at the 4th-floor front desk. We then went up to the 4th floor and were able to check in smoothly.
Upon entering the room, we felt a bit disappointed. We had high expectations because the photos looked so beautiful. Perhaps due to the camera angles, the room was smaller than we imagined, but still spacious enough for two people. It had a window with a sea view, and the cleanliness and hygiene were good. The hot and cold water dispenser was also convenient.
Nearby is Anmok Coffee Street. On our check-out day, we stored our luggage at the 4th-floor front desk and went to find a coffee shop there. It was a bit challenging to find a seat with a sea view, though. There's also a famous fried chicken place nearby, but perhaps we're not used to cold fried chicken, as we found it quite ordinary.
Anmok Coffee Street has a bus stop, making it convenient to travel to other parts of Gangneung.
The boss is friendly and the location is great. It is close enough to walk to all Sichuanjin Beach, and there are many sashimi restaurants, mulhoe, bibimbap, soup, soup, and restaurants, and there are many cafes and all close!! Convenience stores are right in front of you and parking is easy. There is an electric mat on the bed, so I slept with my back warmly, and there is also an air purifier for a ceiling air conditioner heater. You can see the sea across the street while looking inside the breakwater. It is a completely new accommodation because you can easily cook in a private whirlpool bathtub and even a dog.
The staff were really friendly, so I was able to start off in a good mood from the moment I checked in.
The TV usage instructions in the room were also very detailed, so there was no inconvenience at all in using them.
There was even a water purifier installed in the hallway, which was convenient, and there was also a sunrise time guide in front of the elevator, so I felt the meticulous consideration.
The ocean view from the rooftop and the room was really beautiful, and the night view was fantastic.
There were many delicious restaurants nearby, and the fried food street was close by, so I could enjoy my meals without worrying about it.
There are also many raw fish restaurants in Dongmyeong Port right next door, so it is perfect for those who like seafood.
The best value for money accommodation! I confidently recommend it.

Very Good
Hhau yeeHotel is clean and fun. Our family enjoy much. They have treasure hut and uncountable lego blocks in the room. My girl loves this hotel the most in the whole Seoul trip.
My girl enjoyed the little game in room, the swimming pool, a small warm pool, indoor children playground very very much!
For car parking, we followed the naver map arrive the hotel. When we got there, they didnt allow us to park in front of the hotel, and we need to drive back to their specific parking area, and took shuttle bus back to the hotel again. This action wasted us an hour to go and back, and even waited around 30mins for check in. If they allow us to put down the luggage and do check-in first, and park the car later, that would be much better. It is sad for the 1st impression. And I found the locals would ask the staff to park their car for them to the specific car park. How come this could not be the same to foreign guests?
One more is not good about the dinner buffet. This was paid, W90000. When we got there after swim, around 8-8:30pm, the food left not much. But they close at 9:30pm. They refill slowly slowly.
TTuxannie WuanThe place is good, 7 minutes to ski and has a supermarket and eatery place nearby.
Honestly the room is nice, with cooking facilities but the owner was not friendly at all.
The toilet was stuck and leak they came with only the plunger and ask us settle ourself.
Is winter and we came with kids, the kids built a snowman and they destroyed the snowman after we went for ski trip.
We are a group of 10 and we wanted to cook our dinner. There is a small hut with table and chair and BBQ facilities, we ask to BBQ facilities (We are willing to pay, 10,000 won as stated) but she said is winter so we can’t use the BBQ pit, ended up we use the stove to cook up the meat.
The husband and wife came in to the huts and told us we can’t do BBQ but we explained to her we just cook the meat and we didn’t do any BBQ. We left the place with cleaner than we came in. I have to WhatsApp her and show her the place is cleaned.
The warn us that we must left the place by 1am but in fact all of us finished eh 9.30pm every day since we are tired from Ski.
During the last day, they came to us and I was thinking they come and say goodbye but they just make sure we throw every single piece of rubbish outside the house.
My husband wear shoe and just step to take our luggage and the owner insist us to take out the shoe before we went in to the house. Although we have explained, we just step in and take the luggage and go, he insisted us to take out the shoes.
I have been travelling all around the world and we do understand every cultural is different but as the operator of tourist industry, the owner has to be service minded. If you can’t accept any international travellers then please do not list your place in any platform or put up a notice that international tourist is not permitted to stay there and we won’t book accordingly.
Is such a shame to see this happened to us after our 5th trip to Korea and our 3rd trip to Pyeongchang for ski.

트트윈스19I booked this place to sleep during my trip to Gangneung. The location was so busy with cars on the way in that I was hesitant about parking, but the timing was perfect, so I parked and checked in. It was conveniently located near many restaurants and convenience stores, and the newly built room was clean. The view was a bit stuffy, facing the opposite building, but the TV was larger than most other places, which was nice.
Ffenners0101Automated check-in. Well located with quick access to the beach. Many restaurants nearby. Everything is good. The only issue was the balcony was home to many pigeons and covered in...droppings. A comfortable stay none the less.
LLeia K.The Orchid Hotel was everything and more as described on their website and the reviews. I stayed in the superior room with 1 king bed which was very comfortable. The air conditioner is adjustable to your preference. The hotel was very clean, spacious, very friendly staff (24hr lobby staff)and in the perfect location. They provided robes, slippers, 2 bottled waters, clean towels daily. The bathroom has a bidet which is separate from the shower area. They also have a pot to heat water instantly and they provide coffee and camomile tea bags. There was a large desk area in this room and a large television. The location is right across the street from a large shopping mall that also has restaurants and walking distance to Musil (restaurants, cinema, shopping). They do have a pool and has pizza and beer every evening at rooftop bar. All your needs are very close to this hotel. The bus terminal is ~6 minutes walking distance and train is ~ 10 minute taxi ride. Approximately 2 miles is the outdoor market (food/shopping). Considerations: make sure to bring international chargers, translate app and if get Wow pass can top up with cash at 7/11 or CU. I did make several attempts to top up on Wow pass app with credit card and was having difficulty. The bus terminal and taxi’s accept international visa credit card. The bus terminal does not accept T card. I highly recommend this hotel. Thanks to the staff and cleanliness.
GGuest UserSuper nice sea view , room look exactly like the photo . Room with simple cooking equipment that u can cook ramen or little snack . Dryer , towel all those basic things are provided. But 2 things u have to take notes , this homestay type of property doest not have reception or person incharge at the area , even during check in , so make sure u contact with trip.com to get the check in information before u reach there , or else if u can speak korean or u will need to at-least have a number that can call Korean number to contact property management when u arrive and tell them u need check in , i think simple English like “check in “ they can understand. If u don’t have any number that can call or did not contact trip earlier on to get the information, u will be there and wait and u can’t check in smoothly for sure . Secondly this location is far from the city area (like ktx/ bus express terminal and anmok beach ) this location is only near to sundubu gelato by foot about 20min. My suggestion is if u wanna stay here , prepare food and drink and stay whole day just in room to enjoy the view of sea and nice room if u did not driving . Basically for the view and nice room , I will come back again .
적적절한 타협가There are two accommodation providers in one building:
(Sota Suites and Urban Stay)
I booked through Urban Stay and checked in via their website.
The lobby on the 2nd floor does not assist with check-ins for the other provider.
Parking Facilities
There is ample parking space, so there are plenty of spots available even late at night.
Cleanliness
There were flying insects on the balcony, but since I did not open the door, there were none inside the room.
Nearby Facilities
There is a variety of restaurants and several convenience stores nearby.
Breakfast
I did not use the breakfast. For that price, there are plenty of restaurants within a 10-minute walk.
Swimming Pool
They provide two swimming pool tickets per night.
I received four tickets for my two-night stay.
The staff there were very friendly, and the water is shallow, so it is not dangerous.
However, the water is on the colder side, so if you have children, I recommend having them apply sunscreen during the day. If there was anything bad about it, it was the air conditioner control function.
It doesn't maintain the temperature even after you set it.
It just turns on when it starts getting really hot and you're exhausted from the heat.
It doesn't adjust even when it gets extremely cold, so I woke up several times.
It seems to have a ”windless” function, but it only turns the air conditioner on and off.
GGuest UserWould 100% recommend. The hotel is located close to the bus terminal (2-minute walk) so it is easy to reach from Seoul. Sokcho beach is within walking distance of the hotel, and there are also plenty of good restaurants nearby.
The room definitely lived up to our expectations. Check-in and check-out are done through a machine, but it’s very easy to use. The rooms are equipped with everything we needed and the view of the mountains are definitely a plus.
We loved our stay here and would recommend it to anyone traveling to Sokcho.
GGuest UserFor those seeking an exceptional place to stay that won't break the bank, this establishment ticks all the boxes. It's pleasantly situated right on the edge of the picturesque beach, making it a tranquil escape from the hustle and bustle. With the shimmering sea just a stone's throw away, you can easily take a refreshing dip, bask in the warm sunshine, or enjoy a leisurely walk along the shore whenever you fancy.
The accommodation itself is commendably spacious, offering rooms that are significantly larger than the norm. This feature guarantees guests the freedom to stretch out, relax, and truly feel at home during their stay. Adding to this is the impressive size of the bathrooms, which similarly provide plenty of room for comfort and ease. Designed with a clean, modern aesthetic, they offer a pleasant environment to unwind and rejuvenate.
Overall, with its exceptional beachside location, cost-effective pricing, and generously proportioned accommodations, this place truly stands out as an excellent choice for any discerning traveler.
