Leonardo Hotel Lelystad City Center

The location of this hotel is very good, in the center of the trading center, very close to the train station, less than 500 meters, the general environment is also good, very quiet. There's a good steakhouse downstairs. It's tight this time. I didn't come to try it. I will go again next time.

The hotel is far from the train station, the traffic is not particularly convenient, the environment is good, and there is a lake with a good view on the side. The hotel facilities are a bit old, the room is in general health, the key is that no one comes to clean for 3 days, this is unacceptable, not to mention the service

This Hotel is placed in the middle of Highways and Fastfood Restaurants. But as soon as you arrived at the entrance, you know you will enter a whole other universe. The only negative Thing was that skipping the room cleaning only worked on 1 of 3 days. Now to the good things. The smooth white floor, the luxurious lounge, no matter what you look at, you won't expect it to be there, but it is. The stylish bar inviting you to drink an old scotch with a good friend or the restaurant serving you high class french cuisine, the wellness area with pool, fitness center and sauna, no matter where you are in that hotel, you will be astonished. Now to my room. A comfy Bed, a rain shower, a separated WC room, and a big TV screen, I had everything I needed and even more.

Really good value for money compared to Amsterdam prices for accommodation. I was visiting family in Almere so it was perfect for my visit, really close to the train station and near shops and cafes. The hotel itself and staff were lovely. Has the basics you would expect and I was very impressed with the turn-down service - I thought that was a very nice touch. The breakfast is quite expensive for continental so I ate out at a local cafe in the mornings. The area itself doesn't feel the safest, there are definitely some dodgy people in the area so I was always aware of my surroundings and vigilant but never had any problems, as I was visiting family, I wasn't out and about alone very frequently.

The hotel pictures in de adds are beautiful, in real live it is less of a beautiful building in its surrounding (especially in fall on a rainy day) but that is not really what matters. The check in at the reception was surprisingly short and we were good to go to our room that looked perfectly clean. The room was far from warm and the heater could not fix this. The fish heads on the wallpaper were far from appealing to us. The functional light on the ceiling and next to the bed have no dimming function - hence the word functional! So sitting in the bright and cold lighted room and have a drink an a chat is not attractive. But beside the lights, the two chairs (iron and plastic wire) are far from comfortable (hard/no pillows). So the interior itself with the colors and furniture laks warmth. The floor is made from laminated PVC I guess which makes it even colder (but clean). So what you do, you go out and will definitely find your comfort in the restaurant/bistro. The restaurant is a lovely place to be and have a nice dinner. We were served very well by friendly staff. I must admit that the hotel staff - they are the same - were very friendly as well. It is exactly like what others write about. Good wine and good food, lots of people form around having a drink (bistro function) or share a meal (restaurant function) in this nice warm ambiance. When it was time for bed we went back to our fish-room. The beds are two separate beds with plastic wheels which easily drift the beds apart. So each should stay on his side or you both stay on one if you want to be close for a while. The bed itself was good, nice cover/sheets. Pillow was to thin but I think there was a spare one. The shower was great! Spacious and bright. The sink smelled. This is because unfortunately the extra (over load) chamber in the sinks tends to fill with soap bubbles when washing your hands. And this is a perfect spot for fungus to grow. Hard to clean as well, so we do understand this is forgotten. Just have a sip from the running tap and you will know ;-) It all/ the room looks like it is new, just redecorated. To our opinion it could have some finishing touches to make it more perfect. Make it more warm would be our advise. Breakfast in the morning was great! No complains at all. This is organized in a warm looking room. Great coffee! We would definitely recommend this clean hotel if you need to visit this area/city. The people who work here do an honest job with a personal touch. We like that! I think they like it there as well.

First of all let me tell you that we booked 4 nights in a Topsuite.Fotos are really amazing and look quite new BUT do not trust the fotos. They do not reflect the reality of this Van der Valk hotel.Location to visit the Floriade as well as the check-in were ok. Parking is free. When entering our Topsuite we immediately realized that an empty cup of coffee was still on the floor in front of our door. You can see several trays with the rest of room service food in front of many doors during the whole day....nobody cares.(see fotos)The suite was so dirty in corners, next to walls,or inside shower !You could even write your name inthe dust INSIDE ALL wardroabs and cabinets.Worst of all was the Nespressomachine(please see fotos!!)Frames,TV as well as all other details haven't been cleaned since days....You got a rainforestshower as well as a handshower,BUT the last one did not function.Impossible to get your shampoo out of your hair! We went down to reception to clarify with the manager. We were told that she was out of office at that time but they could reclean?! the suite if we want. Referring to the shower we were told that they would check...As we asked to change the suite we were told that there was no availability at that time.Ok! May be everything would be arranged the other day....As we returned back in the late morning on the following day NOTHING DID CHANGE!No shower, the room was made but still dirty and the cup of coffee still in front of the door.... Let me tell you guys that in this hotel they don't put Kleenexpapers near the sinks!you have to use toiletpaper if you are missing your Kleenex.. For dinner you will meet a very unprofessional service(so lived on OUR table),may be other guests get a better one. For breakfast we noticed that ALL white yoghurts did pass there Expiry dates!!We told the staff about the fact and they took all away.Nobody seems to control expiry dates when putting food on the buffet. We did show the yoghurt pot at the reception and everybody was ”really” sorry about that fact and promised us to tell the manager.... As on second day in the evening no message came from the general manger about our complaints,I once again went to reception and finally met the manager. She told me that she heard about our ”Problems” and that she would understand our frustration....nothing constructive from her side.”the suites have to be clean dear guest?”...Ok we agree..BUT?As we didn't want to spoil our holidays in this famous hotel we CHECKED OUT after the first night and leaved this VAN DER VALK hotel in the evening.

1. The hotel facilities are very new 2. The geographical location is very remote 3. There is free parking, but it is inconvenient when it rains. 4. The scenery outside the hotel is quite beautiful. I will choose to stay there next time.

4,5 so let’s start here, nobody’s perfect +0,5 EV charge : supercharger is good (when working, available and without suv charging badly parked during long time), but having in addition plenty of low power T2 chargers to charge over night at a fair price is better -1 outdated rooms : this hotel needs an urgent modernization apart the flashy lobby. Unpleasant carpets, absent decoration (ugly walls and ceiling), old worn chairs and table, many broken things (like the hot water in shower) unacceptable for such a room rate. -1 : no AC nor proper ventilation, prehistoric TV set, oldest elevator I’ve seen in comparable hotels. -1 not family friendly : absolutely nothing for kids inside or around the hotel. In the rooms you have sink with dual tap, so kids can be in danger with hot water when not used to. Also note that there is no lock to avoid children going out. Outside is a water lake/marina without protections nor barriers. -0,5 smoke : thanks to an other century architecture with concourses rear the rooms you can enjoy the smoke from your neighbor on its terrasse. Time to be 21th century and smoke free. 1 ,5 is a fair evaluation regarding rooms situations and the lake of ventilation , I can’t imagine here with hot temperatures, etc.
