TThere’s A World To SeeReally enjoyed that onsen!
This is a fantastic place to stay with an amazing breakfast buffet, a lounge where you can make creative tradition Japanese arts, big rooms, friendly staff and most of all an amazing onsen.
The onsen here is maybe one of the best we’ve been to and we’ve been to a lot, it even offers a cold bath if that’s your kind of thing.
The down sides (which very minor) are the WiFi which was pretty weak and the fact you’d need to have a car to get out there (which we did, but for some this may be a problem).
Nevertheless, this place is a 10/10 would highly recommend.
MMiaowuFantastic location, right next to the JR station, above the fifth floor of a shopping mall. The room was spacious, clean, and tidy, with great service. The breakfast was also excellent, with delicious sushi, glowing squid, and soba noodles – all my favorites! We stayed for two nights and even got to see the snow-capped mountains from the top floor.
GGuest UserI chose to stay at a hotel in Toyama because I was eager to see the city with its snow-capped mountains. This was my first time staying at a Nikko Hotel. The service was standardized, and I didn't feel much warmth, which also reflects my overall impression of Toyama – it has the cool, stark feeling of a northern city. The breakfast selection wasn't extensive, but the taste was decent. You have to proactively ask the front desk for the complimentary tram pass.
SsusanyI really enjoyed my stay here. The room is so comfortable and bigger as compared to hotels in Tokyo. The staff are friendly and will answer any questions you have.
The breakfast area have a magnificent view.
I will definitely come back here to stay again. Thank you Toyama Excel Hotel Tokyu!
XXenTravellerGreat service by staff, very helpful, they received and sent my luggages by Yamato. Carpark right in basement is convenient. If only they didnt provide Chinese made bathroom toiletries (NZ brand). Right across to Toyama castle.
CChristine TsoiFor anyone travelling along the Tateyama Alpine route, I would highly recommed a stay on the mountain so you can enjoy the scenery without rushing. We love Ryokan (Traditional Japanese Inn) because they always offer delicious course meals (dinner & breakfast) and a public bath. We even enjoyed a free flow of local sake and liquor at dinner! The Midagahara Hotel even offer hiking guides, boots and stargazing guides after dinner. It was a shame that we did not take the hiking trail due to the weather condition (foggy and low visibility), but the stargazing part did not disappoint - we were able to see a sky full of stars by our bare eyes. If we could withstand the cold we could have seen the Milky Way. The hotel shop also offers a wide range of local specialties. We had a nice sleep in our Japanese style room and woke up to a sea of clouds. I would recommend this hotel to anyone travelling to the Tateyama Alpine route.
KKen SooMy stay at DoubleTree by Hilton Toyama was excellent from start to finish. The hotel is modern, stylish, and very well maintained. Its location is extremely convenient, only a few minutes’ walk from Toyama Station, which made traveling around the city and nearby areas very easy.
The room was thoughtfully designed, clean, and comfortable. Despite being in the city center, it was quiet at night and I had a very good rest. The bed and pillows were especially comfortable after a long day of traveling.
The service was also outstanding. The staff were polite, welcoming, and professional throughout my stay. Check-in was smooth, and the signature warm DoubleTree cookie on arrival was a lovely touch that made the experience even more memorable.
Overall, this is a great hotel choice in Toyama. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting the city.
GGuest UserLocation is a short distance away from the Toyama station. But everything else is perfefct.
I loved that my room had a small onsen as well, so I could continue to soak in the comfort of my room after visiting the big onsen. Both were great and it really helps to relax the body after a long day.
Staff were friendly and went out their ways to assist with my requests. Really 10/10.
TTianzeAwesome hotel, I didn’t see a high rating when I booked Ctrip. I have been hesitating to make a reservation. However, the B&B in Baichuan Township is a wooden house structure that is too old. I chose this hotel. The hot springs are superb and the rooms are clean and looks like It didn't take long for the decoration, everything was very new, and I will definitely visit again in Shirakawa Township next time.
AAnonymous UserThe hotel is about a 10-minute walk from Toyama Station, which is quite convenient. The facilities seem a bit old, especially the mattress in the room, which was too soft – probably due to age. They offer free coffee and drinks. Breakfast is served on the top floor with a great ambiance and a good variety of dishes. The hotel price is affordable, so overall, it's excellent value for money.
