4-Star Hotels in Hunan, China

We had an amazing experience during our 3 nights/4 days stay at this hotel. We booked the hotel online after going through reviews on trip.com and were not disappointed. The staff were in touch on WeChat throughout and even upgraded our room. Despite the language barrier, the staff, especially Xiaohua, Jessica and Chenney were very helpful, going out of their way to help us plan our visits to the National park and other attractions. They helped us book tickets and explained the routes very patiently. We were extremely satisfied with their service, attentiveness and helpfulness. They also helped us order in food after a long & exhausting day of hiking. Breakfast was simple yet delicious. The hotel arranged free pick up and drop to the East Gate of the Zhangjiajie National Forest Park. On my request, they arranged a small surprise for my husband’s birthday. 100% recommend this hotel.

The hardware facilities and services of Shaoshan Hotel are very good, it is relatively quiet, and the rooms are large in size. Especially it is the closest to Shaoshan Scenic Area. The former residence and bronze statue of the great leader Chairman Mao are right in front of you! It just so happened that the children were on vacation and we specially brought the educational significance of red tourism. The service worth mentioning was an unexpected surprise. Extra points. Miss No. 263 received a five-star rating. She was enthusiastic, professional and courteous! It is more reliable and convenient to stay in this kind of state hotel when traveling. In addition, the tour guide was very helpful when visiting the Chairman’s former residence! It is highly recommended to find a tour guide to explain! The price is not expensive and the service is perfect!

This is the hotel to stay at !!! The staff was very helpful despite the language barrier. Some could speak English and as soon as you check in, they add you on WeChat. You can communicate with them. They answered all our questions on the hotel as well as on Zhangjiajie. The park is accessible by a nice path by the hotel, leading straight to the main entrance. The room was very spacious and well furnished. I would recommend to book a room with a balcony. I had a direct view on the houses at the back of the property, so opening the curtain was problematic. Despite that, I enjoyed my room. The air con was cold as needed for the scorching temperatures we had. The bed was comfortable and the cleaning services on point. Daily room cleaning with fruits basket and water bottles. Depending where the room is, it can be quite noisy at certain times. Mine was near the elevator, very convenient but noisy at time. They also provide ironing service if needed. The breakfast was good with a lot of options Chinese and some western. The coffee was good and the machine let you choose the intensity of your coffee. A 5-10 mins walk to have access to the main street near the hotel with a bunch of restaurants. There are some near the hotel too. We didn’t try those ones. We had a good massage at the massage place next door. That really helped us for the second day of exploration.Not so good when we went back, different masseuses. Overall, this hotel is a keeper. The pictures on the website are what you get.

The hotel is within walking distance away from Zhangjiajie National Park East Entrance. The stream is just at the doorstep. Pick a shallow spot for some water splashing activities with the children. The hotel staff is helpful and friendly. Contacted me after I booked the room via WeChat. Helped me purchased Zhangjiajie National Park, Grand Canyon, and Tianmen mountain tickets at a cheaper price. The helpful staff also helped me plan my itinerary and trekking route that is less taxing on the knees for my elderly mother. It ended up that the staff recommended that I should stay one night less at their Lanting hotel after they reorganised my itinerary to spend a night at Furong Town (that I had originally planned for a day trip only). The staff said that having more time at Furong is more relaxing and we could enjoy the night view and performances. The hotel staff provide a discount number that we could quote if we dine at 12 restaurants nearby to enjoy the discounted price. I am very impressed by Lanting's professionalism and service. I highly recommend this hotel if you are visiting Zhangjiajie.

Stayed here for 6 nights, hotel room was tidy, amazing room service, even had little robots for food delivery. I was flying out on my last day and they even had free service to transport my luggage to the airport so I didn't have to carry them which provided such convince as I didn't fly until 7pm but check out time was 1pm. Customer service team was also amazing. The only downside is due to the hotel being right next to the popular areas, it can get noisy at times in the night so if u're a light sleeper I'd advice to book the same hotel but maybe a different location as they have many branches around the city. Overall genuinely very happy and satisfied with my stay, one of the best hotels I've stayed at.

Located right in front of IFS, very convenient to get around. As a foreigner, the hotel staffs were very helpful. Really thankful for the staff working in the midnight shift for helping me book a ticket to Orange Island （橘子洲） since I didn’t have a Mainland China line. Also, shoutout to 荔枝姐姐for the great service in preparing late night snacks. Rooms were also clean! They have a small gym and laundry area too!

The location is excellent—surrounded by plenty of restaurants and shops, and conveniently right next to Hingqiao. Our king-size and double beds were massive and very comfortable, making for a good night's sleep. The receptionists were helpful and friendly, always ready to assist, even carrying our heavy luggage up to the 3rd floor. However, the lack of a lift made it quite tiring to climb up the stairs, especially after a long day of walking. The breakfast area is small and cramped, with limited food choices. Unfortunately, the staff at breakfast weren't very friendly, which was a bit disappointing. The hotel signboard is only written in Chinese and it is on a third floor, making it difficult for us to look for it.

This hotel must be rated 100 points. It has a good location and is very close to Bailang and Gaoyiling. Downstairs is the riverside for a walk, the air is fresh! The boss has put a lot of effort into the B&B. The bath towels, face towels, toilet seats are all disposable, as is the projector.... There are also steam eye masks, tea leaves, fruits, and dried small items. They are really thoughtful! The most important thing is that the room is very clean! I want to emphasize that the boss is very enthusiastic and talkative!

We had a great stay at this hotel. The room was clean, spacious, and had a comfortable bed, plus a lovely view of the river. The location was excellent—just a 10-minute walk from the old town but in a quiet area at night. The amenities were a nice touch, including slippers, flip-flops, and a bathrobe. Common areas were pleasant and well-kept, with a cozy spot to enjoy tea. Breakfast was varied, with options for everyone. The staff was friendly and helped us book a transfer to the station. A couple of small drawbacks: no gym, and the staff’s English was limited, but we managed to communicate just fine. Overall, a great choice for a comfortable and relaxing stay!

Can I just say this hotel is probably the best hotel I have stayed in before?! - very spacious for two people, enough space for us to put our two big luggage (the price per night is also so so affordable) - the bathroom is v clean and spacious as well - v tech savvy, has xiaodu xiaodu for you to make commands, the voice command can also help you open curtain, set alarms, off/on TV Aircon etc - has laundry service which was so damn amazing?! They will even help us dry and fold the clothes for us? So thankful :) - the location is damn good as well! Just 20 mins walk to the town area, 5 mins walk to the mrt station!! Super convenient! - they even provide us with detergent in the room, in case you wanna wash clothes in the room. - their hair dryer is so strong?? So rare to have good dryer in hotel room!! - the staffs are also extremely friendly!!
