5-Star Hotels in East Java, Indonesia

Batu has been one of my favorite destinations in Indonesia and this is mainly thanks to this hotel. The place was magnificent, the breakfast incredible but more than that all the staff were super nice and welcoming the servers, the cooks, the security, the room staff and the reception staff!!! Thank you very much for you’re kindness !😊

I think this is a value for money stay. I love the room and hotel location. The room is excellent with bathtub at this price. Service is generally good and acceptable. The room when we first enter has some aircon leaking, but was quickly changed to another room. Breakfast is a good variety though there was quite a number of flies at the fruits section. I think it's around a 5 to 10 minutes walk to the mall. Would be good if they could include some floats for the swimming pool.

Everything about the hotel is exemplary except the toiletries ! Fragrance is not acceptable and I dreaded shower. Hotel has a 360 degree and you can see whole of Surabaya! Spectacular. A big mall, catering to big brands and international Tuntungan plaza is around 20 mins walk. Another big mall, local BG Junction is around 10 mins away. Location is good ! Including eateries nearby. Breakfast was the best I've experienced; amazing spread including local flavors. Absolutely tantalizing.

Our trip to Bromo and Ijen started from Surabaya. Ascott has a great location just beside the Pakuwan Mall, and the people are super friendly during check in and out, and during our stay, they were very helpful to provide anything we need. The service apartment is spacious and clean. Thanks for a wonderful stay.

5 star service from friendly and attentive staff. Spacious clean room with good shower. Restaurants were very quiet in the evening possibly due to the high price of the meals. Superb breakfast buffet. When we were there the roof top bar was closed due to a private function. The hotel is quite children orientated.

love everything about this hotel! breakfast was quite good with many selections, service was excellent, next to a mall and room was one of the best in surabaya so far! this hotel is considered quite old but they still managed to keep everything like new and clean. def recommend and will be back ❤️

We celebrated our honeymoon at this hotel and had a truly memorable stay. The staff went above and beyond, surprising us with beautiful decorations and a thoughtful cake. The historic charm of the building added a unique touch, and we thoroughly enjoyed the guided hotel history tour. It was an overall delightful experience, and we wished we could have stayed longer. Highly recommended!

Was a pleasant one. But room is a bit mehh... Lacking a bit of cozy feel. The items in room can be taken care better. Seems like the cleaning services can be improved. Other than that the service service reception and hotline all works good. Hotel location is nice and have some good access to food and restaurant. But sadly gym closes at 5pm. Guess I can never make it then if I am here for business trip.... Hopefully the time range can be extended in the future. Breakfast was not bad. Decent amount of choice and quality can definitely be improved.

The pool area and lush garden surroundings made it easy to forget you were in the middle of a busy city. Location-wise, it's conveniently close to malls, restaurants, and main roads, yet the hotel itself feels like a serene escape. Would definitely recommend Shangri-La Surabaya to anyone looking for a five-star experience with genuine hospitality.

The Westin Surabaya is an amazing hotel, conveniently located right at Pakuwon Mall, making it incredibly easy to access everything you need. The décor is modern and well-maintained, and the rooms are reasonably sized, spotless, and comfortable. What stood out the most was the exceptional service. The staff were incredibly caring and responsive, especially toward my toddler, which made our stay even more enjoyable. The kids club was a highlight of our trip—my toddler loved visiting it multiple times, giving us parents some much-needed breaks. If I could suggest one improvement, it would be to extend the kids club hours into the evening, as it would provide even more flexibility for families. Overall, this hotel offers a perfect blend of luxury, convenience, and family-friendliness. Highly recommend!
