"We loved this hotel for its service and location - right in the centre next to several shopping malls, a supermarket, food streets - so convenient.
Our room seemed on the smaller side though likely because we booked a room with two double beds. It came with an exceptional view outside too and the bathroom was beautiful.
My only issue was that we were supposedly staying in a non smoking floor. However, on our first night, we had a strong smell of cigarettes entering our room. It was so bad that it felt as though someone was actually smoking in our room so we didn’t get to sleep much on our first night. With a newborn and toddler, this was certainly not ideal. The smell was still there in the morning but was less strong by the following evening. We tried to request a room change but were told that they weee unfortunately fully booked.
Despite this, we would still choose to stay here again."

GGuest UserOverall, my recent stay at this 5-star family-friendly hotel was largely positive, with some definite highlights and a few areas for improvement.
The hotel's swimming pool is definitely a major plus. The water quality was excellent, making it safe and reassuring for kids to play in. It's well-designed with separate pools for children and adults, as well as distinct lanes for swimming and a learning area. However, a slight drawback is the occasional influx of non-guests, which sometimes affects the experience for hotel residents, making it feel a bit crowded. I suggest they better manage access for non-guests to prevent overcrowding.
As a newly opened hotel, the facilities are all quite new. The overall experience upon check-in was pleasant, and the ambiance was comfortable. Service was generally on point for most of our stay; they even provided small gifts for the children during check-in and check-out, which made our kids very happy. The hotel butlers and managers were consistently checking in on guests' service experience, showing a genuine commitment to providing excellent service and building a good reputation.
The children's play area and its associated amenities still need improvement. There aren't many activities available, making it less engaging for children. For instance, the ball pit lacks a slide, and there's a lack of inflatable attractions and amenities such as non-slip socks. The nearby leisure park also offered a mediocre experience, and its integration with hotel services felt disjointed, lacking smooth coordination. This large leisure park is a valuable resource, and I hope they utilize it better, perhaps by offering shuttle services for hotel guests and discounted car rental services, which would be extremely helpful when visiting on a sunny day.
The hotel restaurant didn't offer great value for money. Both the taste and variety of dishes could be improved; it felt a bit overpriced for what was offered. (Note: We only tried Cantonese cuisine for several days and did not sample the dim sum or Western options.)
As a LEGO-themed family hotel, LEGO brick creations are prominently displayed throughout. The linear corridor design of the lobby contributed to a nice atmosphere and cultural theme. I hope they further enhance these distinctive features to truly make it a classic destination (for example, some room types could easily accommodate a LEGO building table, allowing children to play and build even within their rooms). I hope the hotel takes these points for improvement into consideration, as I believe it will become increasingly popular.

HHyouwaThe room I booked was an executive suite. It was large. It had two large rooms, a large bathroom and a walk in closet and a separate toilet. The decor is a little dated. But this did not make it feel any less grand. The previous hotel was more modern but this room is grander in scale.
the bedroom had a panoramic view of the city. We were on the 15th floor. The elevator was fast and would get you from 1 to 15 in 20 seconds.
The bathtub could be enjoyed in the dark with the blinds lifted something I took advantage of each day.
The toilets are not smart which I got used to in my previous hotel. But they did the job.
The shower had good water pressure, the rainfall shower was installed into the ceiling and it had great intensity.
The shampo, conditioner and gel were great and the toothpaste was Colgate.
There were some amenities listed but we're not available during our stay such as the executive lounges and bars, but the staff explained all the benefits could be enjoyed in the dining hall. There is a onsite pool, gym and sauna on the 5th floor along with a spa. I did not get to try the pool as I had no swim wear. But you could rent if you wanted.
The buffet breakfast and dinner was all very good with a lot of options. The freshly cooked noodle and grill station were amazing. I would recommend arriving when it starts or an hour into service as sometimes they begin to pack up before the service is closed.
Drinks were unlimited and so was the self serve gelato, which I frequented
The room was non-smoking and free from smells as requested which is a plus and I am thankful for, as this could ruin the experience for me and my pregnant partner.
The staff were all very welcoming and would greet us every day. Amenities and towels were replenished
The interior of the hall was grand the dining hall was decorated, high ceilings and lots of lights secured behind a safety net.
Dongguan I did not get to see much of. But it's a city that is in the midst of development with new metros being planned and in the midst of being built. I am excited to see how it changes.
Our stay was short but it is indeed one of our most memorable hotels. One due to the size and grandeur of the room and the second was the service provided.

TTANGtangAFor this trip, I booked the most basic room type for a 2-day stay on Trip.com, which is ideal for a parent traveling with one child from Shenzhen.
Room Environment: The room felt quite humid, but since I'm sensitive to smells, I brought my own sandalwood diffuser, which helped. The room came with a dehumidifier, a heated towel rail, and a bathtub – definitely thoughtful amenities.
Activities: If you're looking for water fun, this is the place! It has everything: pools, a water park, and hot springs. You can bring your own swim rings and inflate them at the hotel. My child had a blast for two days, consistently renting electric water guns and mini yachts, which was genuinely entertaining. Manual rowing is available for 68 RMB per hour, a reasonable price comparable to kayaking. The large lawn is perfect for evenings, featuring outdoor movies and live singing performances (which were rather mediocre).
Let's talk about the food: We saw some people ordering takeout on the lawn, which seemed convenient, but we decided to eat all our meals at the hotel. The buffet dinner was 300 RMB per person. My 8-year-old, being 1.4m tall, was charged the adult price. This might be due to the large summer holiday crowds, especially many guests from Hong Kong. We queued for oysters but only managed to get 6 in total, which felt like poor value for money. The next day, we switched to the Han Palace Chinese restaurant. The 2-person set meal was 198 RMB, plus an extra fried rice for 58 RMB (a 15% service charge applies). As a registered hotel member (lowest tier), we received a 5% discount. The food was tasty and offered good value for money. However, if ordering a la carte at full price, a simple meal would easily cost 150-200 RMB per person.
Service: Overall, it was excellent, and everyone was very friendly and enthusiastic. My child injured their foot in the bathroom, and the staff promptly brought iodine and band-aids. (The door stopper on the bathtub was quite a design flaw).
I was invited to leave a review after checking out. Given the effort involved in writing a detailed review, I decided to type all this out. I hope the hotel maintains its current occupancy rate, and perhaps the basic room types will be renovated soon too~

AAnonymous UserVery modern and new. I always like the design of the rooms of Banyantree. I stayed in the villa which has private pool and an outdoor bathtub.
Service quality is also very good. The manager, Mia, added us on wechat so we can communicate quite frequently when we have requests.
There is a very big lake nearby. It has a jogging lake around the lake, highly recommended

GGuest UserI had a great view of my room facing the mountain (free upgrade too!). Service was excellent. Food was quite okay, but would be better if there was a egg station at the breakfast buffet where we could ask for scrambled or fried eggs. It was a shame I was only hear for a night, will be back!

AAnonymous UserThe hotel environment is great, the building isn't too tall, and the design is quite unique. Check-in is on the 3rd floor. Since it was my first time, it took me a while to find my way from the parking lot, walking around in circles. After checking in, I had to go to another elevator to go down, but luckily, a staff member led the way.
The room is quite spacious, with a retro decor, and it's very quiet. The bed is large and very comfortable. There's a balcony outside with two lounge chairs, and the view from the window is pretty good.
A minor disappointment: although the hotel isn't high-rise, I did request a higher floor when booking, but I still ended up on the 2nd floor.
Room facilities shortcomings: There are too few power outlets for charging. For example, a regular bathroom should have an outlet conveniently placed for a hairdryer, but there's only one for a shaver. However, the room did come with a power strip, but it's still a bit inconvenient. I hope this can be improved.

DDenzil Jr.I had the pleasure of visiting the Dongguan MCB Lake Hotel initially with colleagues and later returned with my family for another fantastic experience. The rooms were clean and comfortable, the staff members were friendly and accommodating, and the highlight was the spacious and enjoyable swimming pool. We especially loved the indoor jacuzzi pool, adding to our relaxation and enjoyment. My family had a wonderful time and felt completely relaxed during our stay. We are looking forward to returning to the Dongguan MCB Lake Hotel in the future.

The breakfast spread was excellent and offered a great variety, the hotel was very clean, and the surroundings were beautiful. Overall, a very pleasant stay.
