5-Star Hotels in Rio de Janeiro State, Brazil

The hotel is very nice, a real classical beauty. The public spaces and the pool are very nice too, and the breakfast is good. The only thing I really disliked is the Checkin/Checkout process... We lost a lot of time at the arrival, when all you want is get to your room as quick as possible.

Amazing hotel - perfect location on Ipanema beach, outstanding service, stunning pool area for sunsets & drinks. Bed quality is beautiful - I had an amazing nights sleep. While the front rooms with ocean view are bigger / better, then courtyard rooms are also good with great air conditioning, bathroom products, etc. 3rd stay here - will stay again!

The hotel is wonderful, which is just a bit of a hindrance and the issue of parking is not available at the hotel itself, when it is crowded, you have to put it on the street in front or in its surroundings, other than that, the hotel itself is great.

The location is excellent, surrounded by hotels and restaurants. Across the street is the endless ocean and a beach bustling with people playing ball and running early every morning. It's very convenient to all the attractions! Of course, a sea view room would be much more comfortable. The sunrises are beautiful every day. Although you can't see east, they're still beautiful. The interior view rooms have a small balcony, but it can feel a bit cramped. Beach slippers are provided and can be taken away and reused.

Great staff and location. However the amenities are poor- no coffee machine in room, no iron, no complementary coffee / tea service at reception. The restaurant is overpriced. The decor is tired and dated.

First time visit Rio De Janeiro Brazil. Was thrilled to see the blue sky upon arrival. Road was blocked with enhanced security because of Shakira - Todo Mundo No Rio. The hotel staffs were very helpful and approached us immediately with the luggages and deposited at the storage area upon our arrival. The staffs were well trained and organised with good services. Excellent location to Copacabana Beach with towels and umbrella provided. The room with a view with vibrant energy at Copacabana beach. The weather was rainy and cloudy the following day but could still spot quite a number of people running on the street. Love it!

I had a very good stay and absolutely loved the unforgettable view of Copacabana Beach. I also appreciated the room upgrade offered on site for extra pay. Breakfast in the Lounge was excellent, and I really enjoyed the massage at the Spa. The only disappointing part was the small, old bath in the room.

The Atlantic Ocean is right outside the window, and the rolling waves and the birds and airplanes flying overhead are a beautiful sight in themselves. There are bicycles available for free rent for 2 hours outside the hotel, and riding along the dedicated bike path along the shore would be very pleasant, but unfortunately I didn't have time to try it.

This was my fifth time at this hotel . Both my husband and I always enjoy staying here ! The best - as good as the amazing views of the beach - are the staff .  It is incredible that most servers , check in people , luggage bellmen remember us ! They are all so kind , efficient and friendly that they make us feel part of their family !  Can’t find words to describe how much we enjoy staying at the PortoBay , Copacabana !
