I have only good things to say! Room was very spacious and lovely for the both of us and had everything you needed. We stayed in a triple room for 2 of us (but in the end room had 2 single beds and 2 bunk beds but no problems with that of course). Bed was very comfortable, shared showers and toilets outside were clean, spacious and bright. Counter staff Matt in particular was incredibly helpful and friendly, and helped us figure out a way to hike Blencathra via Sharp Edge in the morning, informed us of bus availabilities and schedules etc. They also allowed us to store luggage with them while we hiked and allowed us to use their toilets and showers to freshen up after the hike. We also had lunch there and food was delicious!! Really great hotel very value for money. Thank you!
The location is a little far from the lake, just a ten-minute walk, but it is the main road through the town. It is also good to look all the way. The house itself is relatively old, please be careful when carrying large boxes, as going up and down the stairs may be a bit difficult.
The hostel was great and worth the stay for different reasons:
1. Amazing location with big lake, near public transportation
2. Friendly and helpful staff, you can borrow hair dryer at the reception. You can keep your bag in locker room also, bring £1 coin or ask lovely staff for tap to pay.
3. Huge shared kitchen with lots of cooking essentials which can be used to cook nearly everything you can.
4. Clean and well maintained room.

A modern 2 Bedroom and 2 Bathroom lodge with all the amenities needed to make it a home from home. Our lodge is on a quiet cul de sac location on the park which has parking for two cars so even during the busy periods it’s a peaceful haven away from the hustle and bustle of some areas of the park, it’s a two minute walk to reception for the main parks facilities and a five minute walk to the marina and lakeside picnic area.We are very happy to have your furry family members at no extra charge, the site is dog friendly and there are some lovely walks on site, dogs are allowed in the main restaurant but we also know lots of amazing pubs and restaurants that our dog Daisy approves of too so just ask and I’ll give you a list, Can we just ask that dogs are checked for fleas/ticks before staying and treated if necessary , if they are going on our furniture please bring blankets to cover our sofas as the furniture is leather and also please can you keep your dogs off the beds, if they do sleep with you please can we ask you bring your own duvet or a blanket big enough to cover the entire bed as we are regularly replacing bedding due it being ruined by dogs either by excessive shedding which takes too long to clean, very muddy paw prints which we love but can’t get out of our bright white bedding or the lovely pawing and nesting our furry friends do! we do absolutely love having your pets stay but we do need to put housekeeping processes in place for your comfort and for that of other guests, we don’t want to have to take deposits for damage that dogs may do to our bedding or furniture so please can we ask you follow our policy above as we don’t ever want to not accept dogs to stay, we are very dog friendly! If you don’t have pets but still would like to stay it is thoroughly cleaned before your stay and anti allergy and cleaning products for houses with pets can be used if required, just let me know beforehand and it definitely does not smell of wet dog!!!!The Park itself has a bar/restaurant as well as extensive leisure facilities and a small shop in which you can buy the basic essentials, it has its own marina so if you have a boat ask at reception about using their facilities , there is a children’s play area and the park put on regular entertainment for families so again check with reception to see what’s on! We do not provide high chairs ortravel cots anymore unfortunately due to them going missing but should you need either for your stay just ask and I will see if I can arrange for one to be available for you for the duration of your stay (just be aware that this is not guaranteed as it does depend on if white cross bay does have any spare stock available) We do provide tea, coffee & sugar but no longer provide fresh milk, i can provide this on request if needed but due to sometimes there being a few days in between cleaning and your arrival we can’t guarantee it still being fresh and in date, The on-site shop does sell milk which is a two minute walk from our lodge, We are a self catering lodge but we do provide one toilet roll in each bathroom and a couple of dishwasher tablets to get you started ( as well as washing up liquid and cloths etc) we also supply you with fresh linen and towels We have WiFi in our lodge but due to the area of the park it can be temperamental, Just select the park WiFi in your list and you should connect automatically without a password, The main TV is a smart tv which has Netflix, and the catch up streaming services but not Amazon Prime or Disney unfortunately There is also a normal TV in the master bedroomPlease be aware that the park has a marina so you cannot walk around Windermere lake from here, it has a picnic area so you can sit and relax and watch the boats but you definitely cannot walk around it! There is a lovely woodland walk around the park and lots of walks outside of the parks entrance just ask if you would like any more info on those walks.Check in information will be sent to you the week of your stay so please log in to your account a day or two before check in to receive the lock box code etcAbout pets:Pets allowed.I need to know how many dogs but there’s no limit.About checkOut:Check out before 10:00 AM.About children:Children allowed: ages 0-17.About checkIn:Check in after 3:00 PM.About smoking:Smoking is not permitted.About events:Events allowed.
