4-Star Hotels in Jeollabuk-do, South Korea

((No links in this one, Tripadvisor!)) The most recent English review for this hotel/resort is 5 years old, so I will add a new one. (Just a bit of background: I'm a world-traveller that has stayed in everything from 5-star hotels to shoddy Airbnb's.) Check-in (1) This process went pretty smoothly, although the front desk staff's English seemed to be a bit lacking. Make sure that you ”get a number” at the electronic panel in front of the front desk when you want to check-in or check-out (left side of panel is check-in and right side is check-out). (2) Our booking did not include breakfast, but during check-in you are given coupons to save a bit of money if you plan on paying for breakfast anyways. (3) During check-in, the staff will give you some other details about opening hours for the facilities at the resort. My wife and I booked a room here for a 3-night July staycation. Originally, we booked ”Cloud9 Ocean View Family Room with Double bed”. What is missing from many of the booking websites is a picture of the bathroom. It's actually a jacuzzi with a corded showerhead instead of a bathtub. The layout of the room is kind of moon-shaped, and my wife and I both didn't find it very cozy. We didn't like our Double bedroom's layout or its quite worn-down furniture (room #733), so we went back downstairs to ask about other rooms. We were invited to take a look at a ”Cloud9 Ocean View Family Room with 2 Single beds”. The front desk called up to the housekeeping staff, and let them know that we were coming up to check out that replacement room, so apparently this is a common request or adjustment to bookings. The layout of this latter room was more to our liking -- definitely a more standard hotel room layout. The ”single” beds were both pretty big, each maybe halfway in size between a full and a queen. The furniture was also far less worn. Since my wife and I aren't big people, and could easily fit on one bed, we took the replacement room. (If I were to give advice, I would go ahead and book the Double bedroom and see if you like it. If not, I think the staff is happy to move you to the other layout.) Both Ocean View's were good enough, with plenty of light. (Six more comments: (a) The lobby is nice enough. All-marble as the pictures show, gives the hotel a slightly more upscale feel compared to all the other hotels/resorts within a 30-minute driving radius. (b) Each floor of the hotel apparently has one microwave. So you can buy stuff in the supermarket and warm it up. Each room also has a kettle. (c) All rooms are equipped with a can of bug spray. If my wife and I go back to this hotel, since we live in Korea, we may bring our bug zapper. However, the patio screen doors are in great shape and we had no bug problem during our 3 night stay. (d) In July 2020, wifi was free and available in all the rooms. The signal was strong enough for me to hold a video Zoom meeting. (e) We didn't have any room temperature p

Hotel location is superb - right smack in the middle of all those short hanok houses, giving a wonderful and fabulous hanok view as promised by the room. Why go to expensive rooftop cafes to get the view when you can just wake up to it?? An excellent and cost-effective place to stay if you want to be near all the hanok attractions but don't want to sleep on thin tatami mats on the hard wooden floors!

The room is clean and tidy. The hotel front desk service is warm and patient. They help to call a taxi in the morning. The breakfast is very good, with fresh fruits and a variety of vegetables, including squid, salmon, and fresh and clean vegetables. I highly recommend staying here.

I came to Gunsan for a trip and I really liked the accommodation. It was clean and warm because it was heated. It felt good. The windows were big so it felt open. Good, good.

An acquaintance of mine in Japan wanted to go to Jeonju Village, so he made a reservation and went. He said that the hotel condition and staff service were all good. However, it is only about 18 minutes from Jeonju Village, so it would be nice to walk there on a clear day, but he said that this weekend was difficult because of the snow and strong wind.

Très bonne infrastructure,très bon staff accueillant et serviable,chambre confortable,mais exécrable système de restauration…l’unique « café » de l’hôtel,sensé étre ouvert jusqu’à 10 heure du soir et last order 9 heure,ferme selon le bon-vouloir de l’employé à 8 heure ou 8 h30 PM et vous prie d’allez manger dans votre chambre…du jamais vu dans un hôtel de cette classe,nulle part en Asie. L’employé décide lui-même de l’heure de fermeture.Un réel mépris du client. Pour ce qui est du buffet…une unique expérience suffit…n’espérez pas avoir un sachet de thé…sauf si vous amenez le vôtre… Beaucoup de travail encore pour avoir un statut d’hôtel de tourisme international…dommage,il y a du potentiel.

There is also a kids pool, so I had fun playing with my nephew. There are various events such as review events and coffee coupons. It was even better! The room was clean and comfortable. Next time I come to Jeonju, I think I will choose to stay here.

시설은 오래되었지만 너무 더워서 못잘 정도로 난방도 좋았습니다. 친구들 6명이 방 2개 얻었는데 가성비 좋고 따뜻하다고 좋아했습니다. 잘 쉬다 왔습니다.

The room is very spacious, with upper and lower floors and floor heating. However, our room has stairs, which is a bit inconvenient for carrying luggage. I like the massage pool very much. I can enjoy bathing while looking at the scenery outside the window.

It was nice because it was clean and the owner and the insider were kind. The location is suitable and there are many tourist attractions around, so it is a very good place to stay when traveling.

I went for business trip. Hotel that itself was built for the event? I caught it in a suite, but the staff was unfriendly .. Just feel like it's so squeezed and guests get ... But it's newly built, so the facilities and everything are tidy..

I like the small room It was warm and cozy. It was a big road with Hanok Village, so it was very easy to move and eat sightseeing. The boss was friendly and comfortable with toilets and showers in each room. The price was so good.

It's right in front of Hanok Village, so you can use it on foot! Parking was also very careful, so it was convenient while you were there. The room was cozy and the ondol was well done, so I slept well. The boss is also attentive! If I have anything to visit Hanok Village next time, I will definitely go again, and I can recommend it to my acquaintances! :)

It was a pity that I came late at night, but the room was really warm. The interior facilities / things were a lot aging, but I interpreted it as a taste of staying in an old house. I thought it didn't include breakfast, but they made it so delicious, such as perilla rice cake soup and porridge.

동생들과 오랫만의 여행을 전주로 갔는데 하루 묵을거라 달빛방으로 예약했어요ㆍ작아도 다른숙소보다 방이 크다는 리뷰를 보고예약했는데 사장님이 조금 더 큰 햋빛방으르 흔쾌히 바꿔주셔서 너무 감사했어요ㆍ대문을 열고 아기자기한 마당을 지나 들어갔는데 넘 예쁘더라구요ㆍ방도 청결유지가 잘 되있고 편안하게 잘 쉬었다 왔어요ㆍ전주가시면 아지자기한 온유로 한번 가보시면 어떨까요?

The location is really good. 5 minutes walk from the parking lot. It is an alley just inside the main tourist street. A simple but hearty breakfast is also provided. The room and bathroom are small.

Easy check in as owner is next door operating hanbok rental. Room is comfortable though got some spider web on the ceiling. Breakfast is toast bread, banana and persimmon. Washing machine is broken so unable to wash cloth.

It's a quiet hotel The view is very good ~ That's a wide valley and a nazmak mountain house Rooms are clean I especially liked the clean sheet Price is also reasonable ~ ㅋㅎ

채석강과 적벽강을 사이에 두고 탐방안내소 바로 뒷에 있는 뒤쪽으로는 횟집이 있는 조용하지만 접근성 좋은 펜션입니다. 1층에 마트 있어 더 편리했답니다.

It was good. I'll stay well. I'll come back next time.
