The hotel was very clean and new, and the service was good – someone even greeted us upon our 8 PM arrival. There's a hot spring available at the hotel, but we didn't use it as it was too hot. The hotel also features a dedicated viewing area. The views from the hotel are excellent! (See picture)

Before booking, I had read reviews about the hotel's general condition. I was excited to check in, but was pleasantly surprised when I received my room. I arrived early, and the staff informed us that our room had been upgraded, giving us a free ocean view room. It was a welcome bonus.
The room was clean and tidy, with no odors, and the air conditioning worked well. 👍🏿
Breakfast was simple and healthy: croissant, scrambled eggs, corn salad, fried chicken, sausage, toast...it was delicious. 👍🏿👍🏿
The staff were friendly and courteous. I'd definitely consider staying here again next time I visit Jiufen. 😁

The room was really cute!
The room was clean and we changed into slippers at the hotel entrance.
The shower water pressure and temperature were great.
I had a very relaxing time at the hotel.
There was just one problem. There was a guest making noise in the middle of the night, and a staff member contacted me, probably thinking it was me. I was already in bed resting... I was very annoyed to receive such a call without even checking. It may be unavoidable since there doesn't seem to be any staff on site...

The location is good, close to Magong Port. It takes 10 minutes to reach the old street and breakfast street. It is convenient for shopping. The service staff has a good attitude and will answer all questions quickly. It is worth recommending to everyone.

The room was absolutely gorgeous! The only minor inconvenience was parking. Because it's located next to an elementary school, parking spots only become readily available late at night, typically after 11 PM. Nevertheless, I highly recommend it 👍👍 – definitely worth a stay!

This trip was disrupted by a typhoon and we almost couldn't check in as scheduled. Thank you to the owner of the B&B for waiting for us patiently. The room was as beautiful and clean as it looked on the website. There was good parking nearby and it was very quiet at night and it didn't affect the quality of sleep at all! The air conditioning was very cold and the bed was very comfortable to lie on. It is very suitable for travelers to stay in ❤️❤️

The highlight of the stay was the coffee machine provided by the guesthouse—offering Starbucks-quality finely ground coffee with an irresistible aroma. Enjoying a freshly brewed cup while gazing at the beautiful scenery outside made every moment of the trip feel worthwhile. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and well-equipped, with thoughtful details that showed great hospitality.
If you’re looking for a place to escape the hustle and bustle and immerse yourself in nature, this is undoubtedly the best place to stay in Taitung. I will definitely be coming back next time I visit! 🌿☀️☕

It is very close to Dongdaemun Night Market and can be reached by walking.
Although there is no exclusive parking lot, parking is available on the nearby white lines.
The room has a beautiful sea view.

This is a really cosy place. I really love my room. Clean and modern interior. The only downside might be the location. It's close to the train station. But there isn't much nearby for food. Probably best to rent a scooter to explore Taitung anyway to make your stay more convenient. They are plenty of scooter shops near the train station too.

The hotel is located next to his beautiful temple! And very close to the top of the mountain. So as you walk to get there, you get a really good idea of what is around! And from the hotel balcony, you can enjoy the views. And it is pretty easy to find from the bus stop.
The owner was very nice and met with me after check-in time, I was running late from Taipei. She kindly explained everything to me and made sure I was settled in. The room itself was very comfortable. The breakfast wasn't anything special, nice and healthy, and a combination of Western and Eastern foods to meet a lot of people's tastes. I really enjoyed the dining area, eating breakfast while looking out to the ocean and town was a nice way to start the morning. .

Close by airport rail at Taipei Main Station ( 5 mins walk) , several convenient store nearby theh hostel and you are Muslims travelling looking for halal food, fret not as there's two halal chinese restaurant right below the hostel. The common area is fully air conditioned and the amenities are complete (washing machine / dryer/ water machine so you can get hot / cold water)
Will be coming to stay here again next time I'm in Taipei 🫡🫡🫡

CClymene LimThoroughly enjoyed my stay at Sun Palm B&B. Have written this review in English, but we communicated with them in Chinese. We stayed at this B&B during the tourism off-peak season (March).
Service - Amazing. They were very responsive on Line, and quick to reply. They were also helpful with our requests/questions (e.g. fetching service to and fro airport, car rental service, traffic road conditions in Penghu) and were polite. They also gave some advice on what can or cannot be done (e.g. we wanted to cycle around Penghu, but they advised us saying Penghu was too big to travel on a bicycle). The driver was always punctual when picking us up, and when sending us to the airport. In fact, he was already there, with the car ready, minutes before we were supposed to leave for the airport - we didn't even need to remind them. The lady boss was very friendly - when we first arrived, she asked if we were new to Penghu (it was our first time), and she introduced where to explore in Penghu, and what to eat. She also told us that if we wanted to do water activities, we can approach them, and they can make a check with the centres to see if they are open since it was off-peak season for tourist activities. We also had some extra request regarding the check out timing, and she helped us with it too. Before we arrived, they also tested the car we wanted to rent, and upon finding out that it wasn't working as well, they provided us with another car instead - this is certainly good service. They also cleaned up the room upon request, and re-stocked the fridge with drinks.
Food - The breakfast was amazing and fresh (see photos). On the first day we had bread + doughstick + egg with spring onion all in one package. It was delicious. On the second day, we had vermicelli and seafood (e.g. squid, prawns). The seafood was really fresh, and the broth was simple and tasty. Each dish was accompanied by fresh fruits / pastry + drink, which was refreshing.
Room - We got the Starry Honeymoon Room. It was very spacious, the room was clean, the amenities were in good condition, and the overall design was aesthetically pleasing. The heart pillow on the bed was a cute addition, and the round bed was big enough for 2 of us. Above the bed there was a window covered with a retractable screen - you can actually look into the sky while lying on the bed, really interesting.
Location - While this B&B is further away from the main city, we didn't feel that affected as they provided airport transfer services. Also, we felt that it being away from the hustle and bustle from the city was actually advantageous, as the B&B's location had a more relaxed, quiet, holiday vibes, which was what we were looking for. There is a 7-11 around 10 minutes from the B&B, so if you need food etc in the middle of the night, you can get it from there. We rented a car, so travelling to other areas wasn't much of an issue.
Overall, I will recommend this B&B to anyone looking to tour Penghu! Am glad to have chosen this B&B for our first ever trip to Penghu :)

GGuest UserI booked the female shared room. I have been to many capsule hotels, bunk beds and so on. But this might be my worst experience. 12 beds in one room, feels crowded and has some smell (you can bring luggage and shoes in the room). There's also a double bed inside the room, so there are more than 12 people in the small room. Lights out 12am so I couldn't sleep in early because there would be noise from people talking loud, showering, and using a hairdryer. All happened in that room. The only thing that I like is you can check in late (self check in), 400m to Taipei Bus Station, 50m FamilyMart. There's also a common area and kitchen, fridge, and coffee maker. Just don't choose the dorm room, you're gonna have a great experience staying here.

You might want to avoid rooms 502,503 there's a waiting bench btwn the doors of these rooms, which I sat there for more than half hour before collecting my luggage to leave (my flight was 11pm) and it faces the lift, might be noisy if big groups are waiting for lift. The admin office/receptionist is oppo 500,501, you might want to avoid that too.
Daily cleaning EXCLUDES replacing towels, water bottles, teabag. (There's a notice at the lift). If you need extra amenities or change towel pls inform recept or else I usually bring my towels to the recept when I return after 8pm to do 1on1 exchange and ask for bottled water when I need more. I prefer to change towels personally bcus it will be certained it's changed (and not old towels folded back nicely). this is my personal protocol. 😁
Room size is decent, in fact larger than I'd expect, cleaniness was ok, I stayed for 5 nights but only requested for cleaning 1x (so I would say it depends on the user quality as well!)
Staffs are very friendly, when I checked in I couldn't turn on the aircon, so I marched over to recept, he came and helped me, and so it was the remote and aircon not properly paired in the network. 5mins later I marched to recept again, tv can on but can't get channels, turns out the cable was loose 😅
Location is good, plenty of food options downstairs. There's few bus stops in front of the hotel which are much nearer than Ximen station. You might want to check for straight buses to and fro Shilin/Raohe/jiufen, esp the return journey will be less tiring minus the changing of trains (I was travelling with 2 seniors) so we try to get on a straight bus as much as possible, so lesser walking back to hotel.
This is a budget hotel btw, so pls dont bench mark against 5star hotel yaaaa...
This will be my first choice if I need to stay in Ximen!

GGuest UserI had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The rooms were clean, modern, and had comfortable beds. The Indonesian lady was incredibly kind and helpful, assisting me with changing the language on the TV and being available throughout the day. The rooms were quiet, and the hotel is in an excellent neighbourhood with plenty of restaurants and close to the metro and the night market. The only downside was the lack of ventilation, as the room had no windows. Overall, it is a great experience and a great budget option

JJzzz/I forgot to take a photo of our room but it's room in the 2nd floor with no windows. At first I worried first due to some reviews aboit the smell but there's no problem at all, the bed is clean, no cigarette smell, the bathroom is good, 24hr hot shower, includes hair dryer and electric kettle in the room. If you're in 2nd floor can get your water refill near the counter.
The lounge at the 6th floor, (technically 5th) is ok, they washing machine, shower room, hair dryer, iron for clothes and self service food counter. I even met a new friend in the lounge. The free breakfast (6F) is also good enough. It's filling but I hope they'll add varieties or at least change it everyday or 2.
We stayed for 6D5N. You can also left your luggage with them if you arrive earlier than the checking in time. It is near the station exit. The staff can also speak English and Japanese. Would like to go back here.

JJammy DayI stayed at SleepBox Hostel in Taipei and overall had a decent experience. The location is very convenient, close to Ximending and the MRT, which made it easy to get around the city. The price is also quite affordable compared to other options nearby.
Cleanliness was okay – the bathrooms and shared spaces were maintained fairly well, though nothing outstanding. The room itself felt a bit small and basic, but it was fine for a short stay. Noise can travel through the halls and capsules, so earplugs are helpful.
