It's about a 15-minute walk from the airport and a 10-minute walk from Chinatown, so I think the location is very good.
The staff are all very friendly and will help you if you have any questions.
The shared spaces are cleaned every day, so you can use them without any problems.
The room isn't very large, but it was fine for sleeping. From what I heard from the people around me, the comfort of the room seemed to depend on the people staying there. My room was a mixed 6-person room, and there were a lot of men, but most people kept their luggage compact and placed things in the lockers or around the bed, and it was comfortable because most people were quiet.
It's generally noisy outside until 11pm.

I only stayed for one night as I had a tour the next day.
I went to the kitchen at 6am before I left and the state of the kitchen was disgusting and had pigeons roaming around for the scraps and the gas hob was left on.
I agree it’s those who stay there and lack of respect they have for the place but surly it should be checked at the end of the night or very early first thing as it’s not everyone’s fault, kinda prevented me from using the kitchen.
There is a sign saying there would be a fine for pots being left out but there was such a mass of them it’s not checked.
The private room itself was clean and had the basics. But the communial areas were off putting
very near fremantle market. about 15-20min walk from fremantle ferry terminals which was great. the room was relatively clean. the rooms has no aircon but there's a small fan, u went it November so it was not hot. fun experience.
I had a lovely stay at The Local Hotel. The staff was very helpful and accommodating. We had plans to spend a night on Rottnest Island before checking in for two nights at the hotel, and they kindly allowed us to store our luggage a day early. It was such a big favor and made our trip much more convenient. When we arrived, our luggage was already in our room, which was a nice touch.
The room itself was stylish and modern. We opted for a corner room, which had three large windows, filling the space with natural light. The lighting in the room was also well done, creating a pleasant ambiance.
Although the toilet and bathroom were shared, and there was some noise from the bar's music, the overall experience was enjoyable. These minor inconveniences were overshadowed by the positive aspects of our stay.
Overall, I think The Local Hotel as a lovely place to stay. We had a nice experience.

Mountway Hotel Apartment: A Budget Gem for Asian Travelers in Perth
I recently stayed at Mountway Hotel Apartment in Perth, and I must say it’s one of the best options in its price range, especially for Asian travelers looking for a long-term stay with self-catering facilities.
Location: The hotel’s location is incredibly convenient for getting around. It’s just 1.1 km from the central train station, and you can hop on free bus services like the Red CAT, Blue CAT, or Green CAT, with stops only 100m to 250m away—perfect for easy commuting. Behind the hotel lies the stunning Kings Park and Botanic Garden. If you don’t feel like walking the 300m to get there, the Blue CAT will drop you off effortlessly. The accessibility to public transport and nearby attractions is a huge plus.
Cleanliness: While the exterior might look a bit dated, the interior is surprisingly spotless. I booked a room for two, but the bedding and pillows provided were enough for four, which was a nice touch. Everything felt fresh and well-maintained, and I was thoroughly satisfied with the cleanliness.
Facilities: The private kitchen was a highlight—equipped with a rice cooker, pots, pans, a toaster, a fridge, and enough cutlery, plates, and utensils for four people. They even provide coffee, which I appreciated. However, there are a few downsides: the electric stove is small and outdated, making cooking a bit slow. Also, there’s no salt or basic seasonings provided, nor chopsticks, which might inconvenience Asian guests. The bathroom features a very clean bathtub, but it lacks shampoo and body wash, so you’ll need to bring your own.
Despite these minor drawbacks, I’d still rate Mountway Hotel Apartment as the best value for money in its category. It’s practical, comfortable, and ideal for Asian travelers who want to stay longer and cook meals to suit their tastes. I’d happily recommend it to anyone looking for a home-away-from-home experience in Perth!

The location is very good. It's a short walk or bus ride to the train station. There are also many food options nearby. It's a living area. The hygiene is pretty good by youth hostel standards. The kitchen is great and fully equipped, and you can even live there for a long time. However, the shower head in the girls' bathroom has not been repaired.
Breakfast is bread. Tea and coffee can be provided on the table. It is relatively simple. There is also a kitchen where you can cook something else. You can also have jacaranda and various plants in the yard. . This place is worth staying for a few more days.

SSam KamalVery nice hostel top location Hostel G Perth garners praise for its prime location, offering easy access to public transportation and the city center, which many guests find convenient. While the hostel's rooms are celebrated for their modern touches and practical amenities like individual power sockets and storage space, some guests have cited issues with noise, cleanliness, and room layouts. Opinions on value are mixed; some guests feel the pricing is fair, while others disagree.
The service is generally regarded as helpful, yet there are occasional reports of variability.

JJuliaThis time I booked an 8-bed room for 5 days. The location is very close to the coach station. It is very suitable for people without a car. The room is not always full. The staff is very warm and friendly. Even if I booked a mixed room, I learned that I have room. A female companion will try to arrange an all-female dormitory for us! Moreover, the cheap price package also provides simple breakfast, which is a surprise! Although the hygienic environment may not be very good for picky people, this backpacker hostel is very pleasant. The toilets and bathrooms are very clean, and the common area is also regularly cleaned. It is much better than most affordable backpacker hostels!
GGuest UserWas greeted quite rudely by a woman who snapped ”There are no vacancies”. Told her my name and she said a person of that name had already checked in. Told her my accommodation was already booked and paid for and showed her my phone with the information. Strange as ”vacancies” sign was up outside this establishment. Accommodation was quite good other than this person's abrupt greeting.
GGuest UserThis is the only stay if you need to go to Karijini national park from the west coast. It's a 7 hour drive from Carnargon, literally in the middle of nowhere.
Thr cabin we booked was clean and we'll air-conditioned. The dinner there was fantastic, lamb was so tender. Food was exquisitely cooked. We could never imagine such a fine dinning experience in the middle of absolutely nowhere.
Shower was hot enough, air-conditioning was cool enough. There is a tiny hill you can hike up for sunrise and sunset. Also star gazing. Overall an excellent stay.
