Too noisy from the fan in bathroom
Mattress is not good and lighting system no any switch close to bed
At 8h40 in restaurant no enough breakfast the pods empty
The reception was very kind and friendly. Our room was comfortable and the location was perfect. It was a 10 minute walk from the railways station and close to a lot of restaurants and shopping.

If you want to use the hot water, you need to turn on the boost button by the boiler 20 minutes before you want to use it. Apartment was great for 1-2 nights, but it was lacking in some facilities - the TV wasn't properly connected to the Internet so couldn't use iPlayer or Netflix on the TV. There was no baking tray or roasting tray to be able to use the oven. The grill pan was filthy. The cups had to all be washed again. The dishwasher worked great and so did the fridge/freezer. Nice amenities in terms of sofa, placemats, teapot. Only four teabags for two people for three days. Reception is not open on Saturday or Sunday. There is no one site, they do have books and dvds to borrow at reception, but no one is there at the weekend. It was in a great location. Would stay again. Lightbulbs needed changing in the bedroom in the lamps as they kept flickering. There was also a lightbulb that stopped working in the kitchen. Only one plastic cup given in bathroom. But absolutely perfect location for the price. Although, be warned the bedrooms are not sound proof, please bring earplugs as there is a lot of noise outdoors.
Convenient for BP PulseLive venue. We took Uber to the venue but the walk back north to NEC and through to near the station then signed off via side door and signed thereafter was a 16 minute doddle.
Well done re that helpful signing.

The sister hotel of the Edgbaston Park Hotel, we stayed at Lucas House one of our nights as we were unable to book consecutively.
We stayed in a room with two single beds. The bed was too small. It was hard to imagine how a tall person could sleep...
The bathtub was also small. In addition, if the transparent waterproof door on the bathtub is pushed and pulled until it is flush, it will be difficult to open it from the inside. Fortunately, I have a partner who stays with me, otherwise I would be trapped in the bathtub if I was alone.
Apart from the above two items, everything else is excellent. There is a small green fence outside the window and a small flower bed outside the hotel. From a distance, it looks like being in a fairy tale town. Breakfast and check-in are both done at the Edgbaston Hotel across the road.
Reasonable room rates, room clean , water hot in bath/shower-food was extremely tasty, and excellent value for money for both evening meal and breakfast.
Weather was hot and only improvement would have been to keep complimentary water/juice in foyer topped up as no cool water or drinks available in room.
I stayed at the Arden for the UK Games Expo. Despite being rather pricey, it's very convenient to get to the NEC and Resorts World (10-15 minute walk). The leisure centre staff seemed unprofessional, but the receptionist and restaurant/bar staff seemed nice and friendly enough. Room was nearly spotless, aside from behind the TV that were slightly dusty. Our room didn't have a TV remote but a quick call to reception fixed that, they were very responsive. It was a nice comfortable room. I will say the food for dinner is exceptional and highly recommend it!

NNell2025Room is great size and has all the basic amenities you'll need in a three star hotel. It's clean and definitely updated compared to how it used to look years ago. Unfortunately, there's no AC, bed is a bit smaller compared to standard hotel. Bathroom was leaking when showering. Tap needs greasing as it was a bit stiff to lift. W/C flush needs fixing so it flushes properly. WiFi was very slow and intermittent. The reception area as well as the building exterior unfortunately still looks tired and dated still after so many years. I wish they'd repaint it as it's next to the bus station. Also, the breakfast food were overcooked. Bacon, chewy, hash brown looks likes cooked in used oil as it's so brown rather than golden colour. The brown bread taste bitter. The coffee wasn't nice either. I think it's time that Britannia invest in modernising their Coventry City centre chain.

AAndrew from SporeTo be fair Birmingham at first glance coming out of the station doesn’t look all that safe for a foreign traveller. The route to the hotel would initially reinforce that impression. However after walking the city the next day for over 6-8 hours, while the location is NOT city Center, it is actually located in a good place close to all the major places I need to visit on foot; train station, the mega mall Bullring, Birmingham city center / cathedral / St Martin’s mkt, the hip new part of town - Gas Basin (canal waterways) and also the city’s modern library with the rooftop gdns (@ Centenary Square). The rooms looked like it was recently refurbished. For the price I paid (58 Pounds for 2 pax), it was the best value out of my entire 16 day UK trip covering 15 different towns - up & down the UK (incl London/Cambridge/Leicester/Coventry). In short, a pretty damn good deal. It had aircon which was a major blessing in summer as most other places I stayed, didn’t have that.
DDianaThis hotel offers a consistent and reliable experience, making it a solid choice for travelers seeking a hassle-free stay. The overall atmosphere is calm and professional, with a focus on efficiency rather than luxury. Guests can expect a clean and orderly environment, with attention paid to maintaining quiet and comfort. The decor and design are simple but tasteful, contributing to a neutral and unobtrusive ambiance. While not particularly distinctive, the hotel delivers on what it promises, leaving a generally positive impression for those prioritizing practicality over extravagance.
SSfrixelReally unsatisfied with the cleanliness of the room, there was a huge amount of dust anywhere that I was sneezing continuously.
Also, the most disgusting thing were the bedsheets, stained with yellow spots! I asked for a new set of bedsheets and the reception gave them to me and I had to put them on, because there was no one of the cleaning team to do it.
Very very very unsatisfied.
AAnonymous UserThe transportation is convenient. It is very suitable for business trips. It saves a lot of time and can rest. There are also many places to eat around. It is convenient.

GGuest UserUnfortunately other than its location this hotel has nothing good going for it.
There was a queue when I got there, strange for that time - 20:30ish. The lift was dark and depressing, the room even more so.
There was an awful smell like vomit lingering in the room. The floor looked unclean. The bathroom floor was the same and the corners were filthy. I didn’t feel clean being in the room.
The tv was good as it was a smart tv so I watched what I wanted.
The walls are paper thin and I could hear every noise and things being plugged into the sockets on the wall. The doors banged shut and this was annoying all night.
The wallpaper was very old and was covered in layers of paint.
There is no air con, the heating was on when I entered
The bed was the worst thing I have ever slept on. The springs were poking me all night long, I barely slept.
There was no hairdryer either so I didn’t use the shower.
If your on a super tight budget sta here but I’m sure you can find airbnb cheaper than this.

Good
GGuest UserThis hotel was average. The room was clean but lacked any special amenities or decor that would make it stand out. The staff were polite but seemed indifferent to guests' needs. Overall, the experience was satisfactory but not memorable.

Good
板板鸭没有鸭The size of the room is not bad, the location of the hotel is also very good, very close to the city center. The staff at the front desk was very welcoming, there was a little problem with my room card, and the staff was very patient to solve it! Hotel breakfast is a buffet order system, ordered an English breakfast, the amount is really big, the taste is also very authentic, praise!
GGuest UserDecent hotel for the price, bed was comfy and the hotel had everything you needed, very helpful to have the reception open for large periods of the day and night, with friendly staff.
The halls did smell of fags and if your room is on the roadside it is very noisy and the building is very hot! There are heaters in all rooms though if it is cold.
