Kamenoi Hotel Beppu offers a delightful blend of comfort and convenience. Just a 5-minute walk from JR Beppu Station, its location is ideal for exploring the city's renowned hot springs . The spacious rooms are well-equipped, and the hotel's onsen facilities provide a relaxing experience after a day of sightseeing . Guests appreciate the friendly staff and the variety of dining options available on-site . Overall, Kamenoi Hotel Beppu is a great choice for travelers seeking a comfortable stay in Beppu.
This is an older hotel, and while the decor and furnishings show their age, everything is functional and well-maintained. It's a good option if you don't mind a slightly dated aesthetic.
**Pros:** The location is incredibly convenient, with plenty of restaurants nearby that stay open late. The hotel has an elevator, and parking is free. A very generous buffet breakfast is included, and there's also a large public bath. A significant bonus is its ability to accommodate large families, even groups of up to ten people!

Staff are very nice, with traditional style of old onsen hotel, need 12 to 15 mins walk from public transport station, the hotel does not have shuttle bus service, but there are daiso, aeon supermarket and convenience store nearby, and great natural mountain view, the dinner is delicious and full.
This hotel is very convenient if you are taking bus from Hakata Bus Terminal. It stopped right in front of the hotel. Inside the hotel, it has tourist information counter where tourists can buy bus pass etc. Room and toilet are small and is common in Japan, but they are clean and stay is comfortable. They have 1 indoor and outdoor onsen. Opposite the hotel is a departmental store and is 10 mins walk to Beppu train station. Beppu tower is just a short distance walk from hotel. If you are taking a bus to Yifuin, bus stop 1 is just nearby, opposite direction of hotel. I will recommend this hotel if you are coming to Beppu.

The hotel staff are mostly Korean, and the owner is also Korean. We booked a triple room on the first floor, which was conveniently close to the outdoor onsen. The room itself was spacious and clean. The onsen was also excellent.
We visited on a weekday, and it seemed like there were only two groups of guests, including us. It felt like we had the dining area and the onsen all to ourselves. Aside from briefly seeing them at the front desk, we didn't encounter the other guests at any other time.
We had booked a package that included dinner. The dinner was a delightful, multi-course Japanese meal (kaiseki-style), where each dish was introduced and served individually, only after the previous one was finished. Upon departure, a complimentary shuttle service to the station was provided.
However, getting there upon arrival was a bit tricky; we had to take a taxi (around 1000 JPY) as it involved an uphill walk, and it was quite hot. Walking would have taken 30-40 minutes.
The hotel is a convenient 10-15 minute walk from Kinrin Lake and the 'Fairytale Village.' You could easily visit these attractions in the morning, return, and then check out before departing.
If you need to do laundry, there's a coin-operated laundromat a 7-8 minute walk away (as shown in Pic 4). For those who prefer to buy their own breakfast, a convenience store is a 10-minute walk, conveniently located on the way to Kinrin Lake.
The room was fantastic! Our triple room on the 17th floor offered stunning mountain and water views when opening the window, creating a very tranquil setting. The rooftop boasts both open-air and indoor hot springs ♨️, available for unlimited free use with your room key card. The water temperature was perfect, and soaking in the springs, sipping tea, and watching the sunset was pure bliss! The buffet breakfast was quite generous. The room was notably spacious, especially for Japan. Complimentary amenities such as toothbrushes, combs, and cotton pads are available for pick-up at the front desk. Rooms receive a light daily service (replacing amenities, emptying trash, but not changing linens), with a full cleaning every two days. Complimentary bottled water is provided, and the bathroom includes a bathtub 🛁. The front desk staff provided excellent, warm, and attentive service – Japanese hospitality is truly outstanding 👍.
I had a good stay, personnel is very fast kind and prepared. The hotel is next to a train station and I have light sleep so couple of time of woke up (first trains start running after 5). On the other side is very easy to reach and the train station is very central in the city (note that the famous onsen area is not near this train station)

I was looking for a place with good value for money and accessibility in Kyoto because I was attracted to ryokans! It is a place near Kirin Lake, so it is close to Yufuin Street. The location is perfect! It was about 10-15 minutes walk from the bus terminal and Yufuin Station. I was alone, but I went there cheaply because there was a special price. There seemed to be many families, and I didn't make a reservation, so I used it at 16:30, which is ambiguous about using the private bath. I was originally staying in Yufuin for 2 nights, and it was the last day, so I went right at check-in time and spent the day at the accommodation. I enjoyed the private bath and the large bath, and it was so great! It was December 9/10, but it wasn't cold to wash outside (it could be the heat of the hot spring, but it varies from person to person.)
You can enjoy the private bath in the morning, but I finished the morning with the large bath! The kaiseki and breakfast were great!
I also thought it would be better if I brought my parents. I don't know if the staff is Korean, but there was someone who could speak Korean, so I had a very comfortable trip!!
You should definitely visit.

I didn't have high expectations for the kaiseki course meal, so it was okay. The room was spacious, clean, and warm. The open-air bath, family bath, and hot spring were really nice. It's a bit too far to walk from Yufuin Station, so I recommend taking a taxi. The staff were friendly, and the person who served the food spoke Korean well, which was nice. There was also a Korean staff member at check-out, so it was convenient.

This type room is big & very comfortable for 2 persons with big luggages, the room is very clean but I got some bad smell in toilet room. Onsen in open air space is very nice and not crowded we can enjoy it with privacy. Kitchen room is also good and big, they are provide many type of drinking, snack including noodle cup. Staff is very nice also. Love it.
If you have plan to go to Yufuin, it is very good choice ! Recommended!!

AAnonymous UserThe hotel is conveniently located right next to Oita Station, making it extremely easy to get around. In the evenings, the hotel provides complimentary ramen. Additionally, the supermarket within AMU PLAZA, located right at the station, offers discounted food items before closing. Overall, staying here makes dining, accommodation, and transportation incredibly convenient.
GGuest UserExcellent!
Awesome lobby, incredible seaview, great service, competent and very polite staff, good food, room very clean, onsen is great with free branded amenities choices 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻. location is a bit off, fortunately have shuttle.
Special thanks to Harada san 👍🏻👍🏻 helped to arrange smooth transfer from hotel to airport.
Appreciate the hospitality from quite a number of multilingual staff 👏🏻👏🏻. Onsen is great, unlimited free drinks! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻coffee, coke, green tea, etc 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Breakfast is good, value for money, nice to try. Dinner is 90-mins semi buffet, no choice for the set, special arrangement if you don’t eat beef, but take some time. Lots of wine varieties, if you don’t drink alcohol, the dinner price is NOT worth.
My comment: Highly recommended. need to have car, my case is with sudden car break down with no replacement. Grandvrio did a great job!👏🏻👏🏻
GGuest UserAdvantages: Private bath, nice scenery, good service from staff, no problem in communicating in English, Chinese and Mandarin! The Oita Wagyu beef in Kaiseki cuisine is very delicious, and the price-performance ratio is very good. The Oita chicken tastes above average! Evening kaiseki excellent breakfast is ok!
Disadvantages: The location is on a higher mountain! You have to get there first, as the public baths are relatively ordinary! No scenery! A private spa will be more beautiful! In addition, there is no independent toilet, if the weather is very cold! I don’t want to have to go to a public bathhouse to take a shower in the freezing wind in a private room. In addition, because it is a suburban area, there will be more insects that may crawl into the house.

GGuest UserIs a good experience, I liked the Japanese style of it, the location is good, away from the Main Street for around 5mins walking distance. There is a local supermarket near by.
staffs can’t speak other languages but Japanese we used Google translate which worked well. I stayed 2 nights, breakfast and dinner were very good too.
GGuest UserThe hotel is older! The service condition is acceptable! The hotel staff took the initiative to help! The important thing is free parking! The price also comes with breakfast! Except for the poor sound insulation, there is nothing to fault!
GGuest UserHotel facilities at big building is good. Unfortunately, we did not get a chance to use the hot spring (main reason to choose this hotel) because there was drunk guest throw up inside men room and no one came to clean. Bed sheet has water stain on the outside so could be bothering for someone.
GGuest UserIt is very convenient for self-driving tours. Google map can accurately reach the destination. The front desk clerk is also very friendly and tries to explain various issues in English and introduce places. Dinner and breakfast are also very rich. The garden will have two faces during the day and at night. This place is worth a visit and recommended! ! !

GGuest UserFantastic accommodation. There's 5 onsen that you can try out during your stay. Food is really good with free flow alcohol for dinner. Really sweet of the staff to prepare snacks and a complimentary Polaroid shot when you check out. Everything is just so comfortable and fuss-free.
SStephanie_LI originally booked this hotel for the convenience of going to Mount Aso, but I didn't realize that the volcano had been closed for some time.
This hotel is located in a far outskirts, but the facilities are very good and the environment is beautiful. When we arrived, the owner was very enthusiastic and explained. We didn't understand Japanese, so he translated to us on the phone. The hot spring is in another room, and there were not many guests that night. Our family could enjoy one hot spring room, and everyone was very satisfied. The room is large, with one bed per person and complete facilities.
The breakfast the next day was Western-style and very rich. The bakery owner who couldn't finish it packed it for us and took it away. No food was wasted. Very good service.
There is also an astronomical telescope on the grassland. Unfortunately, it was very cloudy that night, so there was no chance to see the stars. No wonder the hotel has ”Galaxy” as its name. I think you can see the Milky Way in the sky when the weather is good. I hope to have the opportunity to come back next time.
Fortunately, Mount Aso suddenly opened again after checking out, and we actually saw the volcano!
