3-Star Hotels in Oita Prefecture, Japan

The hotel is incredibly clean, and the rooms are beautifully traditional Japanese-style. Unfortunately, many hotels in Japan nowadays no longer retain traditional room styles, which I find very regrettable. Japan should strive to preserve its cultural heritage rather than blindly renovating everything into a 'nightclub style'. A hotel in Japan should authentically represent Japan, preferably offering traditional tatami rooms. What's more, the price is quite reasonable.

Exit from train station, turn right, walk out of the exit and you will see the entrance of the hotel on the right of the building at AMU. Lobby at level 8 while room from 9 onwards. Level 19 is the free onsen for guests. Breakfast was good local and western style. The washer and dryer not as good I think as after wash my clothing got a smell. Managed to rewash some at Kagoshima. Overall very convenient hotel as we used their trains to travel to Peppu to visit hells and Yokosuka to visit Harmonyland

Nice hotel. Room is very spacious and we enjoyed the outdoor onsen facilities. We only tried the breakfast & the food was good. Was very disappointed that our paid kaiseki dinner was cancelled due to our late arrival. We tried contacting the hotel in advance via trip apps to inform that we will be late ( we lost gps signal & got lost driving on the way to yufuin) but did not receive any response. When we were near the hotel, received a message from hotel that our dinner was cancelled. Tried speaking to hotel but to no avail, they also refuse our request to take the dinner on another day.

The hotel is conveniently located right next to Oita Station, making it extremely easy to get around. In the evenings, the hotel provides complimentary ramen. Additionally, the supermarket within AMU PLAZA, located right at the station, offers discounted food items before closing. Overall, staying here makes dining, accommodation, and transportation incredibly convenient.

I've stayed at Beppu Kamenoi Hotel multiple times, and it consistently delivers a great experience. The hotel is quite large. While it's an older property and some of the facilities show their age, it's very well-maintained and impeccably clean. The hotel's onsen (hot springs) are a major highlight – absolutely fantastic for melting away fatigue. Inside the hotel, there are several restaurants, all serving delicious food at reasonable prices. Its location is superb, just a few minutes' walk from the JR station, making it incredibly convenient for travel. We made good use of our JR Pass to easily visit Oita and Kokura.

We stayed for two nights. It was really great! It's a small inn with only 10 rooms, but they had a room available at check-in, so they upgraded us. The room was spacious and the view was beautiful. We didn't use the family bath, but we had the hot spring almost to ourselves, so we were able to soak in it for a long time. The water was thick and smooth, and we loved it so much that we went in three times a day, morning, evening, and night. Since there are only a few rooms, it was also nice that the hot spring was close by. The food was delicious, with a variety of colorful ingredients used. It seems that many Koreans also stay here, so I think it's a popular inn both domestically and internationally. It's only a 10-15 minute walk to the main street, so it was nice to be able to explore while taking a stroll. There's also a Mameshiba Cafe and a Cheshire Cat Cafe, which were both very relaxing! I was glad I had such a relaxing and relaxing time.

The room was well-equipped and comfortable, which made our stay pleasant. The location was also a big plus—conveniently close to several restaurants and a shopping mall, making it easy to find food and enjoy some shopping. Breakfast was satisfying with a good variety, and it gave us a great start to the day. Overall, I’m happy I chose this hotel. While there were a few downsides, the positives definitely made the stay worthwhile.

Fantastic service from super hotel. Location is very convenient around five minutes walk from Beppu station. Lobby is located on level two so you will need to take a lift. However the service is amazing. There are welcome drinks when you arrive. I believe there’s alcoholic drinks as well during a certain period as well between 6-9pm. You’re also able to select your Pillow according to its hardness or preferences and you can choose up to 5 amenity items these include facial mask, vitamin C serums to shavers etc. Because it is Beppu there is Also hot spring. however I would probably have liked to have it a bit bigger pool and to have an outdoor spa. All in all it was much value for money and I would go there again.

I didn't have high expectations for the kaiseki course meal, so it was okay. The room was spacious, clean, and warm. The open-air bath, family bath, and hot spring were really nice. It's a bit too far to walk from Yufuin Station, so I recommend taking a taxi. The staff were friendly, and the person who served the food spoke Korean well, which was nice. There was also a Korean staff member at check-out, so it was convenient.

The hotel is conveniently located near the station. Breakfast was served by staff and offered a great variety. The front desk staff were very helpful and enthusiastic. While the room was a bit on the smaller side, the location was quiet, making it very convenient for getting around. There are tons of izakayas nearby, and it's just a short walk to the city center and the beach. We also happened upon a century-old market and witnessed a fireworks display, which really added to the festive atmosphere. It was totally worth it!
