Clean and hygienic, with excellent service. It's right next to Odori Park and very close to Tanukikoji. The beds are surprisingly large for Japan; two single beds pushed together can easily accommodate a family of three. The only minor drawback is that it's a bit of a walk from the subway station. However, there's an airport shuttle bus stop just two blocks from the hotel, about a 5-minute walk, and it's cheaper than taking the subway.

You can find this hostel by typing ”theatel” into Google Maps, and the navigation is pretty accurate. It's located on the third floor of a building with two entrances. One entrance has ”F-45” written on it, and there's a floor directory next to it (with the hostel's name listed on the 3rd-floor section). The other entrance has a huge 'egg' shaped sculpture in front of it. Near this egg sculpture, you can see the famous landmark beer billboard (featuring an old foreign man's face). You can also see the hostel's name when you enter the building from behind the egg sculpture. Take the elevator to the third floor, and after exiting, turn right to find the front desk. Sometimes the front desk is unattended, but there's a tablet nearby with a QR code. Just scan it with your phone's camera to self-check-in (you'll need to enter a four-digit reservation code). The female-only section has a code-locked door (I received the code on my phone during self-check-in, and also in the email I provided when I made the reservation). After entering the code, there are two more doors: one leads to the accommodation area (my capsule bed was very clean and soft, came with two hangers, a bath towel, a blackout curtain at the entrance, a power outlet by the headboard, an overhead storage cabinet, a box of tissues, and a pair of indoor slippers at the foot of the bed). The other door leads to the washroom area (which I thought was cleverly designed). The innermost part has several shower stalls + changing areas, all equipped with shower gel and shampoo. Outside of that, there are a few coin-operated washing machines, and further out, two rows of sinks. There are stools under the sinks, and hand towels and hairdryers on top. Next to the sinks, in a separate area, are several toilets. The entire washroom area was very clean, and I actually found the toilet paper quality to be quite good. Perhaps influenced by the widely held belief about 'quiet Japanese society,' the entire hostel was very quiet. I booked and paid in advance through an online platform, so I didn't have to pay anything extra from check-in to check-out. On the wall above the foot of my capsule bed, there was a 'check-in guide' (with the Wi-Fi name and password, and a check-out QR code). You need to check out before 10 AM by scanning the code and confirming. I was very satisfied with my stay.

The hotel is located not far from the station, about a 5 to 8-minute walk. The twin room isn't too cramped and is quite comfortable for sleeping. However, they only provide one pillow per person, and it’s a bit on the flat side. Since I visited during winter, the air conditioning functioned as a heater, which made the room feel a bit too warm, but luckily the windows can be opened for some fresh air. Key Policies & Facilities • Housekeeping: The hotel has a policy of not cleaning the room unless you stay for at least 3 days. • Towels: You can hang your used towels outside the door every day to exchange them for fresh ones. • Laundry: There are coin-operated washing machines available, though there are only two machines in total. • Dining: There is an affordable Izakaya restaurant located right under the hotel. Location & Verdict Overall, the location is very convenient. It’s close to all of Sapporo’s main attractions, and you can easily walk to the Susukino area. I would definitely recommend this hotel to travelers looking for comfort and convenience.

Traveling with friends, we booked rooms on the same floor. On the first floor, right by the elevator, there's a convenient selection of toiletries available, including toothbrushes, bath products, and men's razors. The hotel is super easy to get to, just across the street from JR Station. Plus, there's a 7-Eleven right downstairs and two Lawson convenience stores across the street, making it incredibly convenient for getting around. You can even get to Daimaru Department Store via the JR Station, and from the other side of Daimaru, there's an underground passage that leads to places like Tanukikoji. It's a bit of a walk to either end, but the best part is how close it is to the JR Station when you're heading home! Despite being so close to the JR Station, the soundproofing in the rooms is actually really good.

The location is fantastic! The building really stands out, and there are tons of restaurants and shops nearby, plus it's super convenient for transport. However, the room itself was a big disappointment. First, the window offered absolutely no view and couldn't even be opened – it felt like I'd booked a windowless room. Second, there were several hairs on the toilet seat, actually stuck in the middle. I was so exhausted after a long day of travel that I didn't even think to take pictures as evidence.

This is a fantastic hotel! The rooms are spacious, beautifully decorated, and very functional. The kitchen is well-equipped with dishes and cookware, making it perfect for cooking and doing laundry, ideal for longer stays. The location is also quite convenient. For transportation, it's a 2-minute walk to the tram station, a 10-minute walk to Susukino Station, and within a 15-minute walk to Tanukikoji Shopping Street. Nearby, there's a 24-hour supermarket and a 24-hour drugstore/daily necessities store. For convenience stores, there are several Lawsons, and one 7-Eleven and one FamilyMart. The lobby functions as a cafe during the day, and after business hours, guests can use the lobby space for dining or other activities.

As with the other reviews here. Their location is everything. The airport limousine bus stops extremely close by this hotel. Just few mins walk to reach. Further, this hotel connects directly underground to Pole Town shopping and the subway (Namboku line), traveling around is extremely convenient; few hotels that are so strategically located as this one! Plenty of food and konbini options (Seicomart right next door) around as well because this hotel is right outside Tanukikoji shopping street. There are also McD and MOS burgers nearby. Something I don't like is the room they gave me is on the lowest floor, even when I requested a high floor very early on. The walking traffic light chirping sound outside is very loud and I can hear it in the room (thankfully it was off during sleeping time). As for the staff, there is a mix of foreigners (some Nepalese and Thai) and Japanese local, all of which are very helpful. Although they said housekeeping only every 7 days, but they collected the trash and change towels daily; even made up our bed, i think the only thing they didn't do is change your bedsheets everyday. Twin room is quite spacious for 2 person, we can open up our luggage no problem. Express check out available just drop your key inside the lift. Overall I'm very happy and it's a pleasant experience! (except for the loud traffic bird sound)

Originally booked for two nights, but I had such a good experience that I extended my stay for another two. It's located in a bustling area with plenty of food and shopping options, yet the hotel itself is incredibly quiet. The facilities are new and the rooms are clean. I visit Sapporo once or twice a year, but I hadn't known about this hotel before. From now on, this will be my go-to place to stay. Please keep up the great work! Bravo! 👏

This was my first stay at Via Inn Prime Sapporo, and the location is definitely the highlight. Being right on Tanukikoji is so convenient, there are tons of restaurants and shops just steps away. The room was a bit small, but that’s typical for Japan. For a solo traveler, it was perfectly fine and, most importantly, very clean. The check-in lobby on the 2nd floor has a really comfortable atmosphere. I liked that you can pick up your own amenities like toothbrushes and coffee there. The staff were also very polite and spoke good English. I I had breakfast buffet at the 1st-floor restaurant for 1,980 yen. The food was fresh, tasty, and had a good variety. The only thing is that the coffee was a bit light for my taste, but everything else was great. The restaurant was tidy, and the staff were very polite and quick to refill the food. Overall, a very satisfying 5-day stay. I’ll definitely choose this hotel again when I’m back in Hokkaido!

GGuest UserThe hotel is clean, modern, and well-maintained. It’s a bit far from the city and public transportation, so having a car makes things much easier. The free coffee and tea in the lobby are a nice touch, and overall it’s a comfortable place to stay if you don’t mind driving.

EEng YeowA Convenient and Comfortable Retreat There are 4 units in this building. One parking slot per unit is provided at the corner near unit 101. This apartment offers a truly practical and comfortable base for exploring the area. We really appreciated the thoughtful touches, like the basic utensils and cutlery for easy meal prep, and the welcome inclusion of instant slippers, toothbrushes, and toothpaste. The microwave was also super handy for quick snacks and reheats. Comfort is well-managed with one air-conditioner that kept the unit at a pleasant temperature throughout our stay. The washing machine was a huge plus, and we found the designated drying area right above it in the toilet very efficient. The separate dining table was also a nice touch, providing a comfortable space for meals. 2 dryers are outside the building. With two double beds, this unit is well-suited for small groups or families. We also enjoyed being able to link our Netflix account to the TV, which was great for unwinding in the evenings . Things to Note About the Location The apartment is located in a quiet neighborhood, offering a peaceful atmosphere. While there aren't many eateries directly nearby, there are two convenience stores within easy reach. Do keep in mind that local supermarkets tend to close around 7 PM, so plan accordingly for groceries. We found the area to be quite pleasant for getting around, with not many cars on the road. This makes it particularly fun to explore the town by bicycle, and there are several bicycle rental stores available if you're keen to pedal around.

GGuest UserWonderful ski in/ski out location. Lovely family accommodation with everything you need. Close to convenience store and restaurants. Sunday was extremely helpful and transported us to the local train station at the end of our stay. Gustav was very helpful via email but the resort was uncontactable on arrival to arrange hotel transfer from the bus drop-off (reception phone switched to after hours message). Also could not get a taxi (none available on the app) so had to walk up the hill dragging luggage. That was our only complaint.

YYanxiaojiuIt is a B&B run by ********* and speaks Chinese. Dinner and breakfast are charged separately. Dinner is 4,500 yen and breakfast is 1,500 yen. I went there once in autumn and winter, and the food has not changed. If you are staying consecutively or going there for the second time, it is recommended to inform the owner in advance, and they will update some dishes for you. The room is a bit old and the public bathroom on the first floor is not open. If you have a car at night, it’s very convenient to go to Shinei-no-oka to watch the stars!

MmikibowAlthough the building is a bit old, the room was spacious and clean, and the amenities were well-provided, making for a very comfortable stay. For dinner, there are many good restaurants nearby, but I'd recommend making reservations to secure a spot. As for breakfast, there was a great variety of dishes, and the staff's smiles and excellent service made for a wonderful start to the day! I would definitely like to stay here again! Thank you very much!

GGuest UserI highly recommend staying over at this place. It's quaint little accommodation - a cross between a tiny house and a home stay. The bed and pyjamas were comfortable. The shower had a nice water pressure. The toaster was a nice touch to heat up my breakfast. But the real reason for staying here was the fantastic 'yunkai' in the morning. Right on the balcony. You can view it, then go back to bed afterwards. Only one big challenge - if u do not drive or are not a confident and competent driver, it would be a challenge to get here. Because the location is quite isolated. I highly recommend buying your dinner first and arriving before it's dark, as it's really pitch black after sunset. If you are not used to such driving, do take note of this. But otherwise do come and stay at this new accommodation.

JJohn Smith991st up you have to take your shoes off to enter, which is very annoying. 2nd there was no shower in my room only toilet and baisin. They told me I had to use public bath instead. I refused so I had to pay an extra 2,700 JPY to use private shower in another room. They told me restaurant stopped at 21:30, but it actually stopped at 20:00, luckily I got there just in time for dinner. The room also didn’t have a proper bed and I had to sleep on the floor “Japanese style” which was uncomfortable. The final straw was as I was checking out they asked me for more money for tax despite me pre-paying on Trip.com I didn’t argue as it was a small amount of money but considering the room rate was very high already and they made me pay extra for a shower it just seemed like 1 too many ways to rip me off.

GGuest UserThis hotel is ideally located for those looking to visit or hike Mt. Apoi. It's an older, budget style hotel, with most rooms offering just toilets and no showers or baths. However, there are separate male and female onsens available on the ground floor. The restaurant is good for dinner, but I strongly recommend skipping breakfast. For 1850 yen, you get a pre-made roll with egg on one side and ham on the other—it’s fine as a meal, but definitely overpriced! The hotel is showing its age, and seems to be struggling financially. The walls between rooms are quite thin, so it's easy to hear your neighbors. On the bright side, the location is peaceful. The staff are fantastic—extremely helpful and made every effort to communicate with us in English, and welcome patrons with a warm smile.

GGuest UserRight at the centre of Hirafu - you have to walk a bit upslope to the ski lifts. Check in is at another building / hotel so beware if you're not driving. The space is well equipped with a full kitchen and washing machine, as well as heaters. There is also a ski locker on the ground floorwhere you can pit your ski equipment. However we noticed a smell of fresh renovating works once we entered the room - though we're not sure where that came from. If you're driving, beware they only have 2 parking spaces in front of the building which are not designated for guests. So if someone else parked that space, you have to find somewhere where you're not considered a hassle. Note you are not supposed to park behind the building nor the space next to the 2 parking spaces.

GGuest UserI stayed here on my way back from hiking. I stayed here two years ago and really liked it, so I visited again. The building is quite old, but clean and comfortable. The cleaning was thorough. I was surprised to see no dust even on the sliding door railings. The room is 10 tatami mats large enough for one person, and there is ample space around the veranda and entrance, and the toilet is also spacious. The towel racks are easy to use, with small features such as the ability to hang two bath towels and two regular towels at a time. The bathroom in the room is also relatively spacious, making it convenient for washing off sweat and mud from hiking. The large public bath (for men) is simply equipped with one indoor and one outdoor bath, but the spectacular view overlooking Lake Shikaribetsu changes with the time of day, so you'll never get bored no matter how many times you soak. The hot spring water is rich in iron, so it's warming. There is limited parking on the premises, but there is ample space behind the building across the road. Even on cold and rainy days, staff will wait outside to guide you. The food is average. It is common for many employees to be from foreign countries, but they are well-trained.
