3-Star Hotels in Umbria, Italy

I chose the hotel because of its location almost next to the station (ca. 100m). The hotel had its best times about 20 years ago and looks quite worn. The carpet is full of stains, a lot of things need repair (shower heads, windows blinds and small applications around the entire building). The decoration and furniture is oldfashioned, dark and a bit battered. Lighting is very dim: there are a lot of lamps but with little light. The fridge had been removed from the room. The bathroom was convenient but its hairdryer was of the “oldfashioned hotel type” with barely enough power to dry hair, especially long hair. In the corridors the wallpaper was coming offthe wall. Breakfast was okay with a coffee machine that prepared coffee by choice but not in a good quality. No fruit, nothing fresh but heavy on sweet pastries. The interior of the breakfast room had seen better times. Wifi didn’t work in my room, only in the public areas. Before arriving I received an automated mail from the hotel informing about its restaurant (not existing/closed!!) and other services that never materialised. The receptionist didn’t even know about this mail. The hotel is in need for a proper renovation. The reception staff was friendly and multilingual.

Great little B&B very close to Spello. We used it as a base to explore Umbria for 4 nights. The property is on a main road just outside the city walls with public parking across the road. We did find a couple of times when returning due to the bank holiday or the weekend that getting a parking spot could be sometimes difficult. The room was spacious with a nice bathroom however unfortunately there was a drainage smell issue which ruined our stay a little bit. We put a towel over the shower drain which fixed it for the most part. Breakfast was great with a savoury or sweet option per person, coffee and juice etc. You won't go hungry! It was too cold for the pool in May but we used the spa after a lengthy Roman trail which was amazing. Overall a good place for the price.

Location is super convenient, right next to the Piazza del Comune. And close different Basilica. The only draw back is, if this is in peak season, people might be noisy on this convenient road and cars start running through early in the morning for delivery. I am a city person, so I am fine with it, or than that everything is perfect as this is the vibes of the city. Room is excellent and clean. Host is friendly and really responsive. For foreign visitor, the most important thing is host is willing to speak with us in English. Facilities super new, nothing to complain. Highly recommend for a short stay. Cozy and spacious apartment, making me feel like second home in the trip.

Set quite a way out of Perugia town, a car is needed to access this hotel in the hills. It is a little step back in time. The room fixtures are early 70s and there’s nothing super fancy here, but it is a charming and relaxing stay. The room is spacious but the bathroom is tiny and really needs an update. Breakfast was a nice spread but staff were not topping up anything and most items had run out by about 9:15am. The front patio is a relaxing space to sit and take in the pretty flower pots. Staff are lovely and this was a terrific last minute option to access Old Town Perugia.

What an amazing experience we had at Borgo Petroro! From the moment we entered in the little hamlet we knew we were in for something special. The quiet location among olive trees makes it a good base to explore the region and the surrounding towns like Todi and Montefalco wineries. The room is beyond comfortable and sparkling clean. We enjoyed the facilities like the pool and the restaurant where we ate delicious food in the courtyard. Service is top notch! We especially loved the breakfast where local products are presented. Next time we are staying more than one night!

The hotel gives the impression of being quite luxurious and special. It is in fact a clean decent basic hotel with no frills. The beds are comfortable and the superior room is basic but clean. The breakfast is very basic, mainly pastries and coffee without being able to order an omelette even with payment. The check in and out are very efficient and staff are very polite The location is convenient and it is easy to continue your journey. Just don’t expect this to be anything more than a clean basic hotel. Expect a limited breakfast which in my view should be better. .

Quiet, lovely, relaxing, tranquil. Altarocca is a place for couples looking to get away and spend some quiet time together. The hotel is located atop a lovely hillside overlooking fantastic views of Umbria. The staff is kind, generous, and accommodating and the restaurant on the property has a large variety of exquisite wine and tasteful cuisine.

It was badly started, we arrived at 15.30 but the room was not available, we had to wait about an hour to have it. Then it went all right: spacious room with 2 seats, a desk a small open box ( without a chair I would say more comfortable than those closed ) . Breakfast was excellent (the lift to get to the breakfast room was spacious but it worked badly ( more than one person was closed inside, fortunately it did not happen to us). We didn't use the hotel restaurant even though it was always The hotel was very large and there was a lot of personally available and friendly staff.

Cute and cosy apartment, accessible by walking from the bus that stops at the duomo. From the train station, will need to take the funicular and then the bus to the duomo, and then walk to reach the apartment. There will be a fee for check in after a certain timing (I think 8pm?) unfortunately for us the funicular was on strike the evening we arrived and we didn't know until we arrived at the station.

I was looking for a comfortable and safe accommodation walking on the Lauretana Via, and which is a place if not the Domus Pacis hotel in Santa Maria degli Angeli di Assisi. The room is very clean and clean and is located on the second floor, also accessible by one of the many lifts. The breakfast included is different, but the coffee or cap is made by an operator but by an automatic distributor. Positive note for walkers: The railway station is reached in a few minutes. Recommended.
