Lovely budget hotel about 20 mins walk from Temple Bar area. Upon arrival nothing was too much and a warm welcome from Diana , giving us a coffee as we had come in on an early morning flight. Rooms were clean and basic. Comfortable bed , lovely clean shower room with powerful shower. A bit tight for room but it was only a base to get our heads down and change. There is a vending machine for morning coffee … easy walk into town… just follow the tram tracks , and easy for the Guinness Storehouse and Jameson Distillery. Excellent value for money if you’re going to be spending most of your time away from the hotel , but comfortable enough to unwind for a few hours too.

I stayed in a 4 bed mixed dormitory. Beds were very clean, and there waa enough space to store my travel belongings. There was no noise from other rooms, and the shower and toilet inside the room was clean and functional too. 15 to 20 minute walk to Temple Bar, another 10 minute from Temple Bar to Trinity Collegr. Had no problem walking from the accomodation to other points of interests in Dublin. Overall, a great value for travellers. Tip: Do reserve breakfast. The bread is warm if you go in the opening hour, and you can eat enough to last for both breakfast AND lunch while walking all day. Save the lunch budget for better dinner.

I stayed for four nights with my teenage daughter on a mother-daughter trip. Got a great rate booking a few months in advance, and I am so impressed with the value received for the price. We were given a room with two beds on the top floor facing the courtyard- it was quiet and comfortable. I brought earplugs after reading some reviews about noise, but we didn’t need them. The bathroom was updated and the shower was great- hot and nice pressure. The beds were a little “creaky” but comfortable, and the linens were cozy. The hotel staff were helpful, the restaurant was good for breakfast (although we chose to eat elsewhere most mornings) and Darkey Kelly’s pub on the first floor had great food and music. The location is fantastic- we were able to walk pretty much anywhere we wanted to go. I really can’t find a single fault with this hotel for the price. Would definitely stay again.

Yet another stay at my home from home. Check in was a doddle. Food in restaurant on both nights delicious. I highly recommend the chocolate mousse for dessert. Great range of wines to choose from. Friendly efficient waitress’s & waiter. Great coffee and snacks for myself and friends in the lobby. Rooms were clean & comfortable. Happy that they’re cutting back on toiletries that I rarely used. But if you forget anything, a phone call down to reception will fix that. I also recommend the Viking splash tour only a 10 minute walk away on St. Stephen’s Green at the top of Grafton Street & Brunch in Café en Seine Dawson Street. Took in Temple bar & some retail therapy on our way back. I can’t fault this hotel location is perfect. I’m a Dub myself but love a break away in my city centre. Friends had a great time too. We were all rejuvenated after our break away. Thanks Academy, I’ll be back whenever a favourite band visits again.

Having read all the previous reviews on this hotel, we weren’t quite sure what to expect. We weren’t expecting much more than the reviews has suggested- a noisy night in an old run down hotel. Everyone else had made it sound like a dingy little hotel that was loud and not up to standard. To our pleasant surprise, it was actually a lovely place to stay. The rooms were spotless clean, with comfortable beds, tv, kettle, sitting area and plenty of space. Bathrooms were also spotless, again with plenty of space and a nice shower. The reception staff were very friendly, kind and helpful. The manager of the hotel happened to be there on the night (New Years Eve 2022) and informed us that it was the first night in almost 3 years that the hotel had opened its doors again to guests. It became clear at this point that maybe the hotel had done some renovating to refresh the place. It is a lovely hotel, can’t fault the staff, the rooms, or the location. It is based on one of the most popular streets in city centre for young adult night life and is waking distance (5 minutes) to St.Stephen’s Green, restaurants, bars, shops, etc. The luas is also right on your doorstep. Unlike other guest reviews, we didn’t suffer from any loud noises or the music from the nightclub below us. They do provide complimentary ear plugs for all guests in the rooms, however, we didn’t need them thankfully. Again, possibly an improvement that was made. The only thing we do recommend, is that they make some modern improvements to the lift, which is a 2 person lift, very small and slow; and that they improve on the breakfast layout, perhaps a buffet style along with the continental breakfast in a more suitable room rather than one of the back function rooms. Overall, it was a pleasant stay and I would stay here again.

We stayed at The Hendrick Smithfield for a long weekend. The location was perfect for exploring Dublin on foot. The rooms were small but clean and modern and the beds were comfortable. But our absolute highlight was the staff, especially Eibh from the reception. She had the coolest tips for our stay and was super helpful and lovely. She knows all the best places and interesting background information about all of them. Thank you for making our trip even cooler!
Cassidys Hotel

Our group of 25 is on a Grand Tour of Ireland from the US. So glad that Cassidy’s was our first hotel stop. Beautifully renovated, it is a cozy, elegantly appointed hotel in the heart of Dublin. We had a delicious dinner and huge breakfast served in a private room. We walked through the fine dining restaurant, Six, to get to our meals. Six is seriously one of the most romantic restaurants I’ve seen. Many couples were enjoying the muted chandelier lighting, marble fireplace, fresh flower bouquets and fine cuisine (Note the 5 pieces of silverware on both sides of a plate.) My solo room on the ground floor was cool and inviting. It’s worth noting that, once inside the room you must insert your room key card into a 3x5 white electrical box that enables you to turn on the lights in the room. This was new to me and I walked back to the front desk to ask if the power was out. Simple instructions on the wall or given with your card might have saved a few folks from trekking back to the front desk. The staff is friendly and helpful. Excellent exercise room. Wether In a group of 25 or just two, you will enjoy the level of service given at Cassidy’s Hotel.

Hotel itself is lovely, great location for shopping and nightlife. We booked three rooms, one had a considerable amount of dust on windowsill, Other than that very clean. The girl on reception at checkout needs to improve her service skill . Very dismissive and did not want to be disturbed. Overall staff were lovely especially the Irish gentleman that served us in bar. The acoustic guitar session was a bonus. .

This hotel looks impressive when you pull up & enter the reception & public areas but less impressive are the rooms very small with a small double bed 2 chairs 2 tables one being a desk in the bathroom the shower was very small & not very good outside our window was a very big metal tube that hummed all day & night we ask to change rooms but were told they were fully booked I had about 4 hours sleep a day which isn’t good as for the breakfast it was the usual Irish breakfast which was bland the fried eggs were hard scrambled were full of water even salt & pepper didn’t help choice was limited especially for a diabetic who can’t eat bread crumpets would have been nice & tinned tomatoes as an alternative to baked beans grilled tomatoes are not to my taste

The pictures made this place look so good but beware! My partner and I booked a 4 night stay and were excited to find a reasonably priced and cute looking place even if it was far from Dublin city center. The first room we were assigned was dirty including a used bottle of mouth wash on the floor of the room. After requesting a different room, we were moved down the hall to a new room. This one was dirty: *Toenail* on the floor, Bottle of febreeze on the counter, Smelled bad Disgusting lump of tape and something?? stuck to the wall Booger on the wall Stains There were also greasy smears on the night table and window sill. Pretty much you didn't want to touch anything. We were exhausted form a hectic day of travel so decided to grin and bear it for the night and then promptly cancelled the reservation the next morning. While the hotel refunded the remainder of the stay they did nothing to make up for the awful experience and significant inconvenience of having to re-book, change plans, etc. When I called to reach the property the next morning (no in person staff at the property which we knew), I was informed the manager would not be in until 10am. I called back at 10:05 and was informed the manager was still not in. Called back at 10:30, still not in. Finally, got a call around 10:40 from the manager who agreed to cancel the reservation after I told them how dirty the room*s* had been. In fairness, the bathroom and bed seemed pretty clean (and the portrait of Jonathan Rhys Meyers from The Tudors is hilarious). Save yourself a headache and frustration and book somewhere else. Worst stay I've had in a long time.
